Love Rick from India 🇮🇳
Rick you are an inspiration for me as i am a bad negotiator which cost me a hand and a leg in the past and i learn so muchh from you... thanks for sharing your experiences and business tactics with the world... you dont know how much you inspire me
Hi Rick, i am inspired by all your posting. I am a collector of old coins, stamps and and antique things. I wish to see your pawn shop someday.
Great…no money mark 🥴

@@kewltony LOL
I respect him so much just for that statement
It's always better to ask for help instead of putting on the I know it all front.
Yet he bought something he knew nothing about. Cool dude though
That seller is a good dude, takes his loss like a boss and moves on to the next item.
Definitely took it like a champ (at least from what we see)
@Shine Box imagine being that angry
@Shine Box lmao
they are all actors
Perhaps he can dispute the sake where he purchased it possibly under false pretences at the previous auction
Wow, this guy is actually reasonable and an adult about being let down. This is how you do dignity. So many insist their item is something it is not, even when given good evidence.
Maybe this time but ive seen this guy act a fool before.he isnt very good at his. Job though lol he brings in fake stuff that he didnt know about all the time
He's pretty laid back for discovering he invested $$$$$ in a Pier One import decoration!
Lol
Sometimes you’re the hammer sometimes you’re the nail. Smart man
Hes an investor, he knows there's a risk
He will be tracking down the seller and will be going john wick on him. Thats the reason hes so calm.
He never said how much he paid I’m sure it wasn’t a great deal that he spent.
"You know, I've been buying and selling this stuff for a long time..."
Can't read Roman numerals.
Can't be bothered to plug Roman numerals into a Google search.
the nasty thing about this reproductions of collectible or historic items is, the ppl who own them proceed to sell it as original. even if they know that they are fake.
And in turn, the people who buy them think they are real. Eventually they will also sell them as real.
I am sure it happens but I'm not sure it would have happened very often with this piece. Actual reproductions are much more difficult to detect than things that are built more for decoration than deception like this one was.
'What you say and what you can prove are different things'
Imagine if that guy had brought it in.
Expert: “I’m sorry Rick. It’s made of paper and stained with Coca Cola.”
The first clue is how light the cannon was when he put it on the counter. A real cannon, even smaller like that and bronze would weigh at least 60-70 pounds and he wouldn't be carrying it that easily.
Its only 27kg tho
I have a Cannon at home my wife says it big
@@jerryrivera7704 Is there a lot of wear and tear on the trunion? or else it never been used. Might be used for a decorative piece.
Mark is a great expert when it comes to authentication. I'd bet this guy was upset on the inside. Mark and Rebecca are very respectable when it comes to experts.
That is the least angry I have ever seen that seller.
He keeps it moving just like a champ.. Win some and you lose some..👍💕🔥⚾😷💯
The things that struck me were the total lack of wear, aging and corrosion of any visible kind and also the crudeness of the decorative elements. The coat of arms in particular is something you would think they would have put more accuracy and detail into. It looks like something that would have been made in India in the second half of the 20th century.
Can they be supper detailed on the casting tought? I know that for coins, casted ones are always crude, just because the method can't produce the same surfaces minting can
@@benoitlabrecque4513 The used packed sand for molds with no chemical bonding agents as it being used today. Modern bronze casts can be very detailed
@@asicdathens he wasn't saying that it can't be highly detailed today; he was responding to Scotts assumption that an old bronze piece would be more highly detailed than the canon was which just isn't true.
Well here is the thing about Bronze, they are very durable and good at corrosion.
How in Heaven's name couldn't the buyer see that there was zero wear on the mounts, and the engravings were so gaudy.
He said himself...he didn't know everything about everything.
wear can be fake however experts can tell if it's artificial fake or not but for many items, you would like to do a carbon radioactive test (idk what it is called)
I like how Mark always says "have fun!" as he leaves
The cannon simply looks like a replica!
Then it looks like the real thing as a good replica looks like the real thing thats why its called a replica.
Then it looks like the real thing as a good replica looks like the real thing thats why its called a replica.
"I don't know anything about Roman numerals." Good thing there's nothing like encyclopedias, libraries, the INTERNET to maybe, just maybe, help you out with Roman numerals.
Really... you going to bust this guy for not knowing Roman numerals when half the world is illiterate and most people also can’t do basic math without a calculator
@@richardgrace4500 Because typing a bunch of letters into Google is a monumental task. Is that what you’re saying? Re-read my comment.
@@richardgrace4500 For someone who is buying and selling these things for years (as the seller proclaims), not knowing Roman numerals raises an eyebrow.
More likely got it from a yard sale or flea market. After he talked the person down in price, he then calls it an auction (reverse auction). He brings something that he believes is not likely worth very much so uses the default claim, "know nothing about it" and crosses his fingers. That is why he was not upset over it.
Given the Roman numerals prominently displayed on the barrel, I suspect this was part of some kind of commemorative ceremony. It may actually be worth something if connected to a historical place or event. The thing that bothers me is the thought that someone may actually try to fire it.
The lack of any substantial metal at the end of the bore was a give away but the touch hole alone was enough. It is not in the right place nor is it the right shape and I would bet that a paperclip would tell that it is just a blind hole.
Can't wait to visit the Clark County Museum again.
MDXVII - 1517 or about quarter past three in the afternoon. Probably the time it was made a week last Thursday.
Watching the ease with which they carried and handled the thing, I would have been suspicious from the start, It was surely too light to have handled the pressure of firing.
Yea, that's what I was thinking. There is no way that is solid bronze, because that stuff is heavy. A cubic foot of bronze weighs over 500 pounds.
“Not intended when I bought it” I’m crying :)))))
This show cracks me up 🤣 Customer: I want $10,000 Rick: I'll give you $5.00 Customer: can you do $5.25 Rick: NO! $5.00 not a penny more. Customer: well ok. Rick: SWEET! 🤣
very good I loved this one I hadn’t seen 😍
The way the seller reacted to the news about his cannon reminds me of the way the sellers react on hard-core pawn.
Oh wait, they never react this way.
I went in to the Pawn Shop a few years ago when I was a child. I went up to the counter and they had a bunch of rings. Well, the smallest one had my entire savings written on the price tag 😂
@Da'q'ua'n Negronius the ring was $3.75
How much was it?
@@amyk9813 it was like $150. I really can't remember. It was a long time ago
How is this relevant???

I'm not sure there has been a more obvious reproduction in all of Pawn Stars!
took it calmly, I like it :)
All I can say is that guy had class as a seller!
He took it like a gentleman!
What a nice gentleman.
1:40 That Amish guy sure gets around!
The copper/bronze value is still significant...... Enough for a roundtrip to Vegas?😉😁
Dam I was hoping that was real, still very cool item tho. Thx for the upload:)
Rick: you mind if I call a friend of mine who knows about this?
.........Magician steps in....
How can you not tell the cannon is fake lol u can definitely tell from first looking at it 😭🤦♂️
You can't if it's Your first time.
[insert "that's what she said" meme here]
Rick: Let me call a guy you hate so I can argue over it.
Cannon? Call in Rebecca.
With that logo, it could be a souvenir of a small North London football (soccer) club.
when the cannon is sus
😳
The length of the bore is about 5'6"🤣
The customer can have his own show😂😂
That was an insult to the Cannon community.
That was a bigger insult to the decorative modern reproduced cannon community
Good old fake flintlock 🤣
Iykyk
He was so suspicious from the start.
So Rick what have we got today, that I’ve just spent a week on researching
Everytime I see Mark he's wearing one of two outfits 🤣
“I picked this up at an auction” know nothing about it...
perhaps its from a movie set....and thus very valuable !!
And there are some people who will sell it to another unsuspecting buyer, like the guy who sold me a high dollar rod and reel. I thought it was unusual because most of the time they have some fishing line left on them when being sold at the flea market. This one didn't, but everything appeared to work fine and the price was right, so I bought it. A few days later when I put fishing line on it I found out the drag was shot and wouldn't hold any pressure. Without line on it you can't check that and the seller knew that. That's why he removed the line. I went back to the flea market the next weekend, but the guy wasn't there. I asked the manager about him and he said he got lots of complaints about the guy and hadn't seen him since the week before. Apparently he just sells for one weekend and never comes back so he doesn't have to face unhappy customers. Anyway, the rod was still good, so I bought another reel (new) and my fishing rig is complete!
when the bronze canon is sus
Roman Numerals are a mystery. Nobody has ever been able to decipher them. Legend has it they come from aliens.
2:43 nasty cigarette wheeze
Why can't they make a deal? Someone's more likely to snatch up a decoration than they are a 1500s cannon.
That is the prehistoric Rocket Propelled Grenade thrower.
3:33 is that mark rober???
Such a simple check. I bet the seller will remember that check the next time.
There are two cannons at Aizawl, Mizoram. and those two cannons were used in battle of watterloo. it is displayed in the heart of the city.
He’s nice but when you have money it’s easy to be optimistic lol
3:30 when my depression hits
Has value for decoration. rich pay for decorations
Why go through the trouble of making a bronze wannabe cannon when all you have to do is add a little more bronze to make one that would actually work?
A decoration piece.
We need ROB separate series.. This guy is awesome
I'm sure someone else already pointed it out, but that's not the coat of arms of Spain.
Last I checked, you can still frame a garden piece...
Someone who trades in antiques should take a few minutes to learn Roman numerals.
2:10 why are we in castle bastion in kindgom hearts all of a sudden????
Since he could pick the barrel up and carry it around, it did not need two huge lifting lugs on top, whomever cast a real one would have saved on bronze and made it smooth on top.
It was probably copied from some much heavier and bigger cannon, which often had multiple handles along on both sides, since they had to be carried by 4 to 8 people.
Ouch.
The tip off is "I don't know Roman numerals
Can he take it back to the auction and be like WTF and get his money back?
4:03 you can still see the arcade machines they bought earlier still there.
they look like those fake reproduction versions you buy at Walmart
I have a leftover piece of apple that Adam & Eve ate.
Rick: The best I can do is $3 and I'm taking a big risk.
At least this guy has common sense!
Only a fool would think that was genuine!
Took it like a champion
A decorative cannon, much like Lawn Jockeys?
First Nation who used Canons in wars and Missiles too were the Mongols not chiness
I want a hat like Mark wears
I'd say the angle grinder marks on the trunnions would have tipped me off...
Ricks laugh 🙄 kakakakaka
Gosh, that was such a ride!
Judging by the title I suspected bigger surprise, like maybe :not a canon ,but a table leg that's looks like a canon or something like that.;)
That's gonna be expensive when he's ready to have it framed.
Nice
The seller didn’t do his homework
Much better to gamble that way rather than going to a stupid casino....
Yeah, that thing is an accident waiting to happen. Load it up and it’ll go boom in several directions. Plug the touch hole at least.
She sees nothing in that shop worth 50 shades
Who else is giving half a thumbs up for pawn stars, and half a thumbs up for Mark?
You could use it as a signal Cannon noise maker. Don't have to use much powder though. Otherwise it's pretty much a huge waste of bronze. Btw, I think the guy knew it was pretty much fake when he brought it in. He's got a poker face.😆))
He's a collector but doesn't know roman numerals and has no idea what he owns? Ya Pawn Stars is funny af.
Hi guys watching from philippines here,🤘😄
Hella Pinoy
Just that amount of bronze would have a fairly hefty value.
It looks like a hunk of carved metal
They could have done more detail in carving though I only took woodshop
That dude knew it was fake
Ask them if they have a copy of Battle Toads.
