I was at a retreat in Heyburn, ID that week. Some of us jumped in the car and drove to The Gathering Place in Rupert. We had just finished shopping when a bunch of your retreat ladies showed up. I didn't realize it was your group!
So you were the ones❓ That’s hilarious 🤣😂🤣‼️ I set up with the GP to come at that time, they even brought in extra workers so the lines wouldn’t be that long. When we came in they told us about your group. So you were at Shelly’s, The old house with the big shop to quilt in? I’ve been there before. I can appreciate the help you got with your panel art quilt.
I often bring projects to retreat, that I’m not quite sure how to finish. Many opinions are so helpful! I end up with a better finish than if I had done it alone.
It really helps so much with our quilting. I always learn from other quilters. Thank you for watching my channel Kathy😍‼️

Tracy! I have old machines and am teaching myself to repair! I have a Japanese clone I restored. I have two 201s, a 101, a 66 (I think), and many others. I have 12 all together. I LOVE IT. I live in eastern Kansas.

I am ne!w to your channel, but I am a fan! I have never been to a retreat and this is one I would have loved! I used to live in Emmett, ID and work in Boise and Albion is one of my favorite places to visit. This will be on my bucket list for sure!

How much are the retreats to attend? And where do folks go to this retreat? I’m a new quilter of 2years and 5 months. So wish I could go to a retreat,but..have a difficult time walking, without my walker, and tools I’d need. I’ve learned somewhat about quilting from U-tubers, I’m disabled to a degree, pinched nerve in my lower back, makes it hard to move around. I would always feel I’d be in someone’s way. But..at this point I’ll keep watching you all to learn. Thanks for listening.
Hi Sandra, it’s nice to hear from you and I’m happy that UA-cam has such a great format which allows us to learn from one another. I’m so sorry about your condition, however, how wonderful that you can still sew. Retreats can cost from $500 to a couple of $1000 depending on the amenities and time you’re gone.

Looks like you had a great time! I just got back Sunday evening from a quilt retreat up at Hartland Christian camp! I also worked on quilt blocks that has a disappearing pinwheel in it. I had started it at the last spring retreat and will work on it more at next Spring retreat that we are planning to stay for the full 5 day, 4 night of the retreat! Loved the fabric store you guys visited! They had so many great quilt samples hanging up! At the retreat I was at we had a store on site, plus we all bring fabric that we no longer need or want and have a “give and take” table. One last thing…Is there a place online to find directions for the Fat 8 Lollipop?
And it sounds like you had a great time too at your retreat. They’re the best! We had a give and take table too😂. I just folded and pressed the F8 into a 2 inch strip then rolled it up and used a ribbon to tie it on a heavy skewer.

Nat it’s called tight rope, I saw it on her website. Leslie put together her own selection of fabric from her stash as she’s making it for her son so it’s a little more Masculine looking. Thanks for watching from over there and down under!

Hi Tricia 👋🏼, I used super glue and should have wore gloves 😂. We were in South Central Idaho. It got in the 40’s at night but the days were beautiful and in the high 60’s & 70’s. I don’t like the cold either but it comes every winter 🥶 darn if!

I am a beginner and I think I have the wrong idea about quilt retreats. I thought everyone works on the same project. Does everyone bring there own project? I have to admit I am afraid to go to one because everyone will discover how much I really do not really know. But you guys all look like it is so fun.
At some retreats people have the same project and a guest designer. Are just bring your own projects. Dive in and go to a retreat, they’re not a place to show off great quilting skills. Rather one meets wonderful people’s with your same love of quilting. It is about lot of fun. Thanks for watching my channel‼️

I would love to come to a quilt retreat but I am a beginner and really do not have any friends that enjoy quilting. Is it crazy to want to do this all by myself???
No, not crazy at all. Once you came to the quilt retreat you would have a bunch of friends. I’ve become great friends with quilters across the US all because of quilting. T her fact that you’re a beginner doesn’t mean anything. You always learn so much from others at a retreat.
