Hello Bruce, just came across your aging “60” birthday video.
Alas old age is not for sissies..I’m 78 and contemplating a new wing ( though I don’t fly much …just a matter of ‘Why Not’ ..I can afford it ….Sticking with another low B ..Ion 7? Light…but must admit …once …just once I’d like to whip around on a Zeno!

Yeah I've cut back to only flying in easy conditions (not rowdy) on easy sites (grassy slopes with a nice bail out) but at some point I'll have to dump the C and go to a B glider. Or stick to the coast I guess. I'm 65, flown for 35 years now.
My reactions have always been uncannily fast so they have slowed but still fine for a C, it's just the prospect of injury and recovery time and not flying enough because I'm old and don't really like getting chucked around in the air any more. I don't do mountain ranges, leeside flying and valley winds now. Plus the walk out would be rubbish lol because my knees aren't great. I get pub suck a lot more.
You and I have a lot in common regarding age and stepping back from some of the more 'rowdy' sites. Maybe that's because I had the misfortune of realising the prospect of injury earlier this year. So after listening to the chat between Bruce & Karlis it wasn't too long before I purchased a high B to replace my Cure 2, which is now up for sale as of yesterday.
@@Cliffie What'd you buy Cliff? I'm moving from Chch to Brisbane next year (hopefully close to Tamborine lol) so figured I'd wait to see what the sites there are like. (Pete)
@@peterelliott2914sadly after about 150 hours on the Cure 1 and the same on my Cure 2, after a lot of research and speaking to one of our experienced local pilots I went back to Skywalk and selected the Cumeo 2. (my first wing was the Tequila and also have a Tonic 2) I had my first flight on the Cumeo on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it, as well at being above most of our other pilots on a glorious day.
