The cheap Chinese motorcycle from Amazon gets upgrades! I installed a new slip-on shorty muffler which makes it look like a serious bike instead of a Chinese POS. At least now the Amazon bike doesn't absolutely suck! I can actually see myself taking it around town as a gas-saver. This is an X-PRO 125cc (link below if you want to check it out). So far I don't hate it, but it's definitely not a fast motorcycle.

Idk who said you can buy a 600 for 1600 but there a dumbass. Maybe a clapped one.
Douknowgregg nope even a 1000cc for 1.6k is findable. I bought a 2001gsxr1000 for 990 only needed safety
Honestly to me, a good part of the fun of these cheap Chinese motorcycles is that they're not perfect. It's fun working on them, modding them and they are perfect for someone who wants to learn how to work on engines and make repairs
until a critical part fails at high speed because the factory skimped on their materials and construction...

It’s a single cylinder motorcycle so you never gonna get rid of the rattle, lock tight is going to be your best friend.
Yessir!
Basically those motors were designed as a 50cc or 90cc motor bored and stroked out to 125cc thats why they vibrate.
@@Mikesukes I own one of these motors, and you aren't wrong. The Honda Super Cub from the 60's had the originator of this engine family. Having Valve lash adjustments every 2,500 miles and a 2 valve head are the main drawbacks, but it isn't a bad motor, comparable with the modern Honda Grom of the same CC size power wise. With the Farings on this bike, and maybe a sprocket change, he might hit 65 MPH, which is faster than the Grom.
Be prepared to change cam chain tensioners, often.
@@henryjames8654 I wonder if its compatible with the japanese part. I guess?
The visor's going all boogie woogie whenever he revs the bike.

The higher octanes to keep the engine cooler.. due to the fact to get any speed with these tiny engines you're holding high RPM's for a long period of time, so reducing knock is a must...

Your dog is looking at you like “turn off that lawnmower”
Lol!
Even the dog was embarrassed.
I can really notice the throttle response from a karb to fuel injected quite interesting. Great videos really enjoy watching them
The reason they advise 90 octane is because you can get 90 with no ethanol added. The ethanol gas tends to leave more residue in smaller engines and makes it where the carb requires cleaning more often.
Yeah. Ethanol gasoline is no good. Besides the engine damage, imagine turning all that food into fuel. Plenty of petroleum is still to be found in the ground. The ethanol agenda is a bad plan from bad "lizard people".
With someone to help with mechanicals out of the box, and tuning, this seems like a nearly perfect "first bike". Certainly for just tooling around in low speed environs. Very compelling!
So would just buying a 125cc dirtbike... Without all the issues of being a potential break down around every corner.
If you add the slip on and an aftermarket air filter. It will create a leaner mixture. Adjust the carb to run richer to make up for it. There should be a air\fuel mixture screw somewhere. That is probably a air adjust, which should be on the air filter side. Then there will be an idle screw adjust after it warms up.
I just got the Motorcycle, and I am new to riding. How do I locate the air filter on BD125-11(GT) motorcycle, please?
@@user-qz5zb3kt2i were you able to fix this issue got the same bike and it turns off sometimes, thinking this is the issue

I really think it sounds great for what it is. Nice growly and beefy. Thanks for the awesome content! :)
Sounds like an old weed wackier I just to have back in the 80’s, Great video the bike dose look pretty cool.
Just remember if it has pushrods for the valves then its the Honda CG125 clone, engine type 157FMI, if it has a cam chain driving the cam and valves then its the Suzuki GS125 clone, engine type K157FMI.
Neither is the smoothest but check the valve clearances as they are usually poorly gapped at the factory. The OHV engine valve clearance is 0.08 mm for intake and exhaust . For the OHC engine, clearances are 0.08 mm for intake and 0.15mm for exhaust.
Reliable little engines though, I've had mine, Suzuki based, since 2014 as a commuter and its never let me down in rain, snow or floods. The only real issue for them, apart from the 65-70mph top speed, is the chinese tyres and the front brake master cylinder. The inspection windows tends to dissolve after a couple of years when its kept out in all weathers. Best thing to do is change it for a remote cylinder type or if you can afford, the front brake assembly from a Honda CGF125, which is what the styling is loosly based on.
Once the tyres warm up they're not bad but change them for Michelin Pilots as soon as you can if you mean to keep it longterm.
Digging these videos so far , keep up the good work
I love everything about this bike, a brand new bike ready to ride (with minor assembly) and you have a decent bike

I believe that's the most popular engine design in the world. Tried and true and can take incredible abuse.
In the old old old days, it was called the honda monkey(or monkey motor). Think the original "Honda Mini Trail", 50, 72, 90 cc's. The only engine I know of that would exceed 10,000 miles with no oil filter, or oil change. (Identical)

Looks like a fun city commuter bike which is why I bought my used Kat 600. Over approx 2 years I have done a lot to it to make it how I want. Love riding around town.
The Engine is just a copy of the old tried and true Honda CB125. I used to own one years ago. I bought one when I was sent to my first Duty station, Tyndal AFB. I bought it off a LT for 60 dollars. Top Speed 65mph.

in my country, which is Indonesia, there is a couple workshop that specializes in adding cylinders to small old design engines like this, maybe you could try to find something similar where you live ? i see a very large gap between the crankcase and the fairing panels, it could probably fit an inline 3 version of it, the sound would improve a lot 😁.
Yeah but he lives in California.. Their emissions control on stuff is absurd, so a modification like that would make it essentially illegal to run.
Good vid. When I got mine the clutch was heavy, after oiling the cable and smoothing out the run it is feather light. Love the dog, he reminds me of my old GSD workshop dog, wife used to complain when he got oily, but he didn`t mind

Got one too. I’m very pleased with my purchase as well. I’ve tried getting a “good used running bike” for the exact same price and No, here in California where I live it appears you cannot. I’ve bought two broken down used bikes already and have had nothing but trouble getting them running

@@Fotounternehmer why not street legal?? because its black? :))
26vasy No, because its from china and doesnt meet european safety standards.
@@26vasy we have lot of black bikes here. But as already stated, not meeting European/German standards.
I have such a bike for 3 years now, mine is a 350cc model. From the point of view of engine it is great, never had any real problems beside getting the calipers stuck when you drive on bad roads. The biggest problem is however all the plastic parts, they make a lot of noise and are not reliable, coming from that is the problem with wire isolation, if the bike gets wet there is a chance that some wires might short and that might drain the battery. Long story short if you plan on riding more than a year on such bike, better get a used one, because after about a year problems with plastic and wires start to come up.
So I would first install a new carburetor + sports air filter and a different CDI unit and possibly also a complete exhaust system from the cylinder onwards, that power may be lost there 😉 the 4 things and the thing goes like clockwork 😁😎
