I use a Maschine Mk3 and I can use the interface to sample directly into the Mk3 with only USB connections from the Model 24 and the Mk3 into my laptop. Its so seamless and frees up instrument cables for other things. Enjoy the device

      @@whichadrian Peace! I use Mk3 as well with mine, but I'm having difficulty reestablishing my initial intended work flow.
      You're the 1st person I've seen online that even remotely mentioned the Mk3 & Model 24 together. I think we should connect and have a meeting of the minds, as you may be able to help me. I've had my Model 24 for 7 months now. However, as I'm just now getting the most inspiration to create new things... I'm apparently missing a step in the process I use to track out my sounds individually into each track on the Tascam. Also, I attempted to work around the issue by simply plugging quarter inch jacks from the L & R outs of the Mk3 to record into the L & R input of the Tascam (via 19/20). That too was unsuccessful. Can ya help?

      I sent it back after a day. The analog side was fine - the board sounded great... I just could not wrap my head around WHY I would force my DAW through it in that manner. It just didn't click with me. It's as if... the board is the board, the daw is the daw... and short of mass exporting all the files back and forth - and I just can't see the point of going through that awkward setup. The M-Audio Project Mix I/O of yester-year got this so right... I think Tascam has got this really wrong.

    This doesn’t help me understand if this Tascam is right for me, but I did however enjoy the video. The music your making here is similar to what I like to do. I use Reason 10 and wonder how the Tascam would integrate into Reason. I assume each track would record to the corresponding tracks in the DAW. Midi is a whole other issue. Recording midi that is. But I would like to just be able to record separate tracks simultaneously as they are all clocked together. Trying to work with analog gear is challenging when it comes to everything. This Tascam looks like a great solution for that.

    Is it possible to mix all the effects from the board to the DAW? I'm using Adobe Audition so maybe it is a problem with the DAW itself. However, the DAW is able to read the faders as well as the input gain for the volume. The EQ's however don't show up in the final export. Does this make sense? Please help!

Can you use the onboard eq's etc to manipulate the first 16 tracks, and then "scoot" it over and use those eqs to manipulate the next 16 tracs and so on and so forth?? Or - are you "stuck" on those 16 traqcks? Also, can you use the faders for automation in your DAW?? Music sounds great, by the way!

    • @freshproduce2170
      @freshproduce2170 2 роки тому

      You won't hear any 'warmth' from these channels/pres. Analog doesn't automatically translate to 'color'. Also fwiw, 'warmth' is an extremely overused and irrelevant term. The warmth you're hearing may be coming from the singers voice or pleasant instrumentation.
      The tracks are dumped back into the model 24 via USB when you go to mix on the console. Converters would be used primarily when you go to dump tracks into your daw (assuming you don't want to use usb)

    Can I run the Model 24 through a Focusrite interface? I’d like to incorporate the 24 with the Focusrite software. You have a talent with this stuff. For a mere mortal, who sucks at using recording software, I’ve been having a hell of a time using the 24 as an interface ☹️

    • @stefanringerfwm
      @stefanringerfwm  4 роки тому +2

      You can run the Model 24 through another interface. I would suggest using the L&R Sub Bus outs to the interface. For the channels you want to record you would make sure the sub button is pressed down and the sub fader is at unity. Doing it this way you wont be able to record each sound individually tracked out into your DAW (unless you were recording two channels and 1 was panned all the way right and the other all the way left). So running it this way would only give you ability to record two channels at a time individually.
      make sure the model 24 and your daw are on teh same sample rate (44.1 or 48) they have to match for things to work

      Stefan Ringer I’m learning about the sample rate, and preferences the hard way. The interface came with Pro Tools First, and Abelton lite. I installed Abelton lite first, and now I have some kind of miscommunication, as I can’t get past an error message, or even open a new template. Abelton can record instrumentals, as you probably know, but Pro Tools seems the way to go recording drums. Anyway, thanks again for the info. I can definitely make use out of 2 extra channels.

      @@danasmah I have the Soundcraft Signature 12MTK. and tested it with OBS. OBS will only allow audio from the first two channel inputs. I assume this will happen for the presonus as well. It seems to me that OBS or SLOBS won't support more than 2 inputs on any 1 audio input capture. Even when you open up a second audio input capture, there is still no way to specify what individual channels are being used on the model 24 or SOUND SIG MTK

    Forgive me bro, but manufacturers dont bother answering questions anymore and leave it up to content creators these days. Im a podcaster. What channel would a skype caller (or cpu mains)come back on the mixer (recording using mixer, no DAW)? #Dawless #podcastHardware #TascamModel12 #TascamModel24 #TascamModel16

      Skype Audio/Video Settings > Speakers Drop down menu > select Model 24 > select test audio
      ON MODEL 24 GO to Channels 1&2 > change mode switch to PC > bring up fader

    The Mixer misses 4 band vari eq plus q factor.... compressor per channel...then it would be perfect, inserts are missing too..afaics.. Best innovative thing is SD Card recording.

    Yo! How do you set up the I/O's in Pro Tools to do hybrid mixing?

    • @stefanringerfwm
      @stefanringerfwm  Рік тому +1

      I don’t use protools but the concept is the same. You need to learn the signal flow of protools and set your I/O accordingly.

    Are you able to combine mono channels into stereo in the daw, for example if I want input 3 and 4 on the mixer as one stereo channel in the daw

      @@stefanringerfwm do you have to use channel 1 and 2 for the DAW main monitor out? I want the model 12 and just want to send 10 mono channels from the DAW to mix on the board and record the stereo mix back to the DAW?

    which would be good for mixing rap vocals the Tascam DP32 SD or The model24 or does it even matter

    • @stefanringerfwm
      @stefanringerfwm  3 роки тому +1

      To be honest, I don't think you need a console to mixdown the vocals. Most of the real work is done in the DAW. If you are recording recording rap vocals I would just get a good interface and nice preamp like an Avalon.
      In regards to the two consoles you mentioned, I would say Model 24 if you want to run signal from the channels in your DAW to the mixer and get a hands on feel. From looking up the specs, the Tascam DP32 is not an interface. It connects to your computer like a hard drive or USB flash in order for you to pull the audio files you recorded on it to your computer.

    I am thinking of buying from a 16 channel mixer. My question is that I want to use this herbal on the computer. I want to use the project I have prepared on the computer on this mixer. I want to use this analog mixer instead of a digital mixer. At the same time, I can use it on the 16 channels I am wondering. I can use up to the maximum number of channels in digital environment I wonder about this even if a video about it is super or enough to get an answer plus are you satisfied at the end So you are satisfied with the hall of a person who has been made according to digital
