Silent Hiking 17 miles to Iceberg Lake
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2024
- A breathtaking hike through the Ansel Adams Wilderness, starting at Agnew Meadows and ending at the scenic Iceberg Lake. Along the way, we'll pass through lush meadows, cross cascading streams, and trek through dense forest. The highlight of the hike is the final ascent to Iceberg Lake, where we'll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the glistening lake itself. This is a moderate-difficulty hike, approximately 18 miles out and back, with an elevation gain of over 1,500 feet. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear, and be prepared to be awestruck by the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Filmed in August of 2022 in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Video Title: Silent Hiking 17 miles to Iceberg Lake
Did this hike in late September, mid week. Agnew meadow parking was 75% full. Really scenic hike. Thanks.
Best Trail Guide! I love learning all the nuts &bolts of a hike. Thanks
Thanks for the rainy day escape.
Wow! Iceberg Lake😍, absolutely stunning scenery, what an amazing hike this is. Awesome video as always and the info/mapping is really interesting and helpful 👍
Simply amazing presentation, such a relaxing and picturesque atmosphere my friend. Your cinematography is just lovely!
Thank you!
Thank you for continually posting great videos. Without you, I never would have come to love hiking. Cheers!
Thank you!
Thank you for the super thanks!! I appreciate it very much 🙏🏻
@@Sheety33 You definitely deserve it!
Very Nice my amigo like your signiture sign slaps but nice hike and scenery 👍 🤠
Beautiful video. Thank you for taking the time to produce such quality content.
Well explained. I gotta get in there. This summer is looking promising. Retirement soon! Thanks again.
Always enjoy your videos and commentary thanks
The trail going from Devils to Shadow Lake there are many small lakes and try staying at Rosalie Lake. Very nice!
One of my fav JMT lakes
FYI. If you go up to the vista prior to 6am you can drive down to Devils Post pile area. That's the way it was a few years ago but things may have changed since.
I like how you explain how you get there. Helps a lot!
Thanks for the information on the trail! Very cool!
Scotty. I love the new format where you show ALL the details on Google maps. Awesome!
Ty! Gave it a try and may do again in a future vid.
Thank you for the video
Enjoyed the video. Loved the map and discussion. Definitely a must watch if hiking this trail. Thanks for making this.
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for introducing all of us on UA-cam to such wonderful places in the Sierras. Love your videos.
wow excellent video
Beautiful hike, amazing scenery. Thanks for taking us along
Awesome man! I’m from Fresno. I will admit not the most amazing place to live ever but I love being so close to the Sierra Nevada which is my favorite place to be!
You are right on the doorstep to the great place on earth!
@@Sheety33 have you ever done the Mist Falls Hike in Kings Canyon at Roads End? This year would be unreal in the late spring considering the rain fall/snow pack this year so far. I would highly recommend it!
@@natlovell122 I have and love it! Will be back this year!
Agnews is BUS STOP #1. Parking is free along the road before Mammoth Adventure center in Area B.
As always thanks for your awesome videos! I was a little disappointed when I type “Ansel Adams Wilderness” in my gps, it says something like “no way or no route” or something like that
Great video and well filmed. I'm curious about which lens you had on your Sony. Was it a lens with a fixed focal length, like a wide angle 28 or 35mm prime (to save weight)?
Thank you! Just added the lens to the description (12 mm).
What is the trail name you used for this hike? Very helpful video, thank you all for the great views!
Shadow Creek?
Amazing video! If we can only do one hike in mammoth, would you recommend this one or the thousand island hike?
That’s a tough one! What about Duck Pass? Too many hikes to suggest….no matter where you end up in the Sierra, it’s sure to be a good experience.
@@Sheety33 We eventually did the Iceberg lake trail the past weekend! It was epic!
What app do you use to get this red highlight of where you hiked and what map is it pulled into. Love the video
Thank you! Google Earth
@@Sheety33 so if I have google earth app on my phone then it will track my hike and show it on their map
@@karens6053 sorry, now I understand your question better. I use Gaia GPS to track my hike and then imported the data into Google Earth to create the overlay. Hope this helps!
Is this lake in California?
Where is 4:00
Ediza lake
hey scottie, i am curious as to what kind of tripod mount do u use to get those hiking shots ? the terrain seems really rocky and uneven but u always manage to get a straight shot
