Here’s a breakdown: We recorded this in three phases. First phase was with the modular setup which featured the Spectravox in filter bank mode creating a drone. After the Spectravox, the signal was fed into the MakeNoise QPAS and Mimeophon for extra filtering, resonance, and space. Then it was topped off with the MicroCosm for a bit more space and ambient background noise. This combo created the resonant wind noise that you hear throughout the track.
The MakeNoise Rene mk2 was running two sequencers. The first was going to a Rings module that was then fed into a Hologram Chroma Console (review on that coming soon). The second sequence was fed into the Pittsburg SV-1 doing a driving bass sound with a dirty filter modulation.
All three instruments were multi-tracked into Ableton.
Then Meems did one improvised take with the Modular sounds that were recorded.
Finally, a third pass was done using the Spectravox in vocoder mode and the Moog Matriarch. We took Meems vocals and fed them into the Spectravox as program input. The Program Envelope Follower was fed into the Matriarch so Meems voice would activate the Matriarch amp envelope, in 4 voice mode.

Cool. I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around what the Spectravox does, even after watching six videos and looking at the manual ;-)
Not sure if you saw the review vid on Tefty Music Tech, but basically it's a 10 band filter and 10 band vocoder/envelope follower, with a bonus Osc and LFO. Outside of standard vocoding, it's actually a really useful tool for getting tones that would require some serious modulation to recreate without the Spectravox.

Wow. That’s intense. Love it.
Sounds great. The layering of sound is super lush and each instrument really occupies its own space. Pittsburg bass carries the rhythm and the Matriarch bits really stands out on top of it all.
I love plugging stuff into the matriarch and seeing what comes out. Spectravox and a microcosm with the matriarch sounds like a dream combo. Sadly buying a matriarch means I'm unlikl=ely to be buying any more gear for a loooong time - it cost more than my car!😅🚗
Does spectravox come with a mic or is this an additional purchase? I think i can guess the answer.
