Retro Bottom Drain

- I finally fit the Retro Bottom Drain that I bought way back in January and so far I'm impressed with how good it is. I might have to adjust some of the pipes as I think its a little off centre at the moment but I'm going to let it run and see how it goes for now.
I bought the bottom drain from Eco Filtration and the link is below if you are interested in getting one. This is not an affiliate link so by all means shop around to see if you can get it cheaper somewhere else.

Great update jim ponds looking great mate, i fitted that retro drain to tims pond and its done an incredible job mate its completely turned his pond around….. also happy anniversary to you both mucker 👍⛩🐟

Thanks Simon. No the pump is still in the pond. Because my pond is in ground it would be nearly impossible to put the pump outside. The bottom drain basically replaces the pump cage on the intake. I'm still thinking about shortening the pipe as I made it a bit long.
@@ItsWhatIDo ok , Just getting ideas lol , ill probably do the same as mine is in ground too , was thinking if I could put a bottom drain and raise pump thus cutting down head and save power 😂

They are good Will but I had massive issues with it sucking blanket weed and leaves from the bottom of the pond and blocking my pump up. The solution was to fit a pre-sieve to the pump. Skeggy said he can get hold of them now.
I've got retro same as you brilliant but so close to the ground I have fitted a float switch which I think is a must so not to drain full pond if a leak appears only thing I need is a air pump to run the air hose any suggestions please lovely fish by the way 👍👍
Many Thanks. I have a Hailea V60 air pump which runs the bottom drain and an 8" plate. It's probably more than you need. I've got a Jecod 45 that I might switch over to at some point but then again maybe not lol
