Well I was finally able to find one of these although not one of your SFO, but rather a Tidioute model and I agree 100%, it is a working knife. I've carried and used an old T-29 for 25 years and this is reminiscent of that strongly made knife, but lighter, sleeker and just as strong. Perfect working pocket knife. Thanks Rob for bringing this to my attention.
I wish I had known about these when it were possible to get one. The Lanny’s clip is my favorite pattern ever since 2012 and this is a loose version of that from GEC. Good job Rob.
Guess we will just have to buy a regular 74 Mustang. I'd love to have been able to buy one but I'm a working man and when the knives were put up for reserve or sale at knives ship free I was working. It's all good though. I appreciate you doing your reviews and most of all for sharing the good news about Jesus Christ.
Beautiful finished product Rob! I am really sad I missed the ebony version, so I will do my best to pick up a jigged model. It turned out as a beautiful and supremely functional knife. Congratulations!
Absolutely beautiful... After watching this I went straight to knives ship free and placed my order for one . Well done sir. Highly looking forward for its arrival..
Really happy to hear about the pull weight. I have thin, flexible fingernails, and an 8 pull will bend my stoutest, shortest nail back using the best of slip-joint-opening form. A pinchable, easily openable knife of this size has been a real grail for me, especially since buying a seventies full-size Case Sodbuster awhile back, which opens SO easily. I don't use my beloved Schrade Old Timer as much anymore, because with the Case, I don't have to ask "Have I showered" or "Did I cut my nails in the last three days" before opening it.
I find it funny that a handful of forum members within a sub-forum for GEC think they are the voice for all things GEC and traditional. Self appointed know it all clique that push more away from the hobby with every stroke of the keyboard. I'm glad this worked out for you. These guys need to realize that GEC will continue to exist without the need for BF and Facebook.
No worries about not scoring one of your beautiful pieces. I scored another model 74 in cocobolo! Please make more of these knives! My favorite pattern by far!
Great looking knife Rob! I hope to see more SFOs from you in the future. I tried to get on the early reserve for this but they sure went quick on CK. Looking forward to more traditional folders videos. Your videos introduced me to GEC and now my collection keeps growing quickly.
awesome knife man and congrats! really nice to see something like this come to light. and no matter what you do there will always be somebody trying to fault you or knock you back . just a sad fact of life.
Robb, that knife is amazing. You talk about a nice blade, a coffin with the same blade would be assume also. I keep looking for someone to put one for sale, no luck. I won't stop trying.
Man! I set an alarm for the early reserve, logged on 1 minute early, refreshed the page and instantly reserved both knives within 5 seconds of it going live and then later realized I used the wrong email account (an old one that Mike took off the list because I was unable to fill a "sure" reservation about a year and a half ago :( Pretty bummed out honestly, Ill have to see if I can get the inside scoop on the KFS drop but Im a little skeptical I'll be able to beat the mobs on that one! Congrats on the successful SFO and Happy New Year!!
There's always a learning curve with something new. Congrats on your first GEC SFO. Next time I would suggest a bigger order, and a Split-Back Whittler pattern :-).
omg is this beautiful or what, Rob in which section should I look at KSF for the listing of the jigged bone one? will it be in the GEC #74 section? ebony is not there with the stamp SOLD...
Hey Rob wrote you and email 2 days ago asking if you could get or know anyone that has a Gec number 71 bullnose micarta knife for sale. I am looking for one to buy. Love that knife and it is very hard to find. Thanks for your time...
I saw the one on ebay it's biding on it and it looks really used I wanted a new or like new one. Thank you for the heads up though. I have to check on the site for new batch. Thanks again...
Great looking knife, congrats on your SFO. Is there a difference in the blade shape between the heartland clip and the #74 stallion that is currently in production?
I don't follow blade forums so don't know what blowback you're talking about, but... I did place pre-order right at the right time. Yes immediately the jig bone showed 3 red, but my order went through for this wood one which was showing yellow. But I didn't get on list, so yeah, don't feel great about trusting that website and opens him up for criticism for favoritism. Whine / rant over, although this video isn't helping. It's a beaut.

Another classic knife joins the ranks of knife lore. You must be congratulated Rob on your project. A thing of beauty is a joy forever brother.
What a fine way to start the day! Looks like a winner and just what I was hoping for.
Good choice with the ebony. Beautiful.

Rob, Congrats on the SFO. Truly deserving. I lost track and didn't get one. Keep up the good work and do it again.
Absolutely beautiful... After watching this I went straight to knives ship free and placed my order for one . Well done sir. Highly looking forward for its arrival..
Finally got to stop & watch the entire video. Very handsome knife. I love the way it turned out. CONGRATS Brother!!!
Excellent first SFO Rob! I'm very excited about getting mine!

TheAidansdaddy17 amen, and well said
Congrats on the SFO, looks great.
Psalm 44:7 (KJV):
" But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us."
Congrats on your first SFO Rob. Well done.

Thats one classic looking knife there Rob

That looks great Rob!!
I new GEC#74 run is coming in October. I spotted GEC#74 triple line Northfield Mustang bolsters on the GEC web-sight.
Perfect EDC for me. Nicely done.
I'm not really into traditionals, but that's a handsome little blade I'd have been glad to own.
Great work, congrats!
Just traded for one Rob. Traded my 2015 Northfield #77 Barlow Clip blade in old tan saw cut. Can't wait to get the Heartland!!!
Proud on the half stop is good to me. It means there's a lot of pressure in that position making it pretty darn safe
Good work rob! Looking forward to your next design
Gorgeous knife sir. I wasn't quick enough to get one but maybe I'll score one down the road.
awesome knife man and congrats! really nice to see something like this come to light. and no matter what you do there will always be somebody trying to fault you or knock you back . just a sad fact of life.
Brother be careful on your journey. Be praying the good Lord keep you safe. Hope all have a blessed day.
It's a lovely knife Rob!
Well done!

Beautiful knife!
Video breaks my heart. I want one!
The clip point blade in your knife looks very similar to the clip in my GEC 54 Big Jack.
Beautiful.
NICE!!👍🏼

Hello Rob. How about that 2nd run of these? I'd love me an Apostle p's 74.
I just received three different 2020 GEC#74 Mustang knives.
Bill Howard is a genius.
Any possibility of there being a second run of these?
When can we see a video on the Jigger Bone version?
omg is this beautiful or what, Rob in which section should I look at KSF for the listing of the jigged bone one? will it be in the GEC #74 section? ebony is not there with the stamp SOLD...
Whoo Hooh!

Gamma Rayburst Here's the link: www.collectorknives.info/cktools/product-reservation.php?pid=102
Thanks they said it wast on schedule though so probally gonna be awhile till its back..
Great looking knife, congrats on your SFO. Is there a difference in the blade shape between the heartland clip and the #74 stallion that is currently in production?
Matthew Cobb Actually, this knife uses the same swage as the Northfield Stallion, so the blades are the same except for the finish and etch.
Hey brotha, will you reply with some info about your company? I might ask for your services. Webpage and sort
Nice knife.
What's stopping you doing another run of 200 or 300????
Alan Meechan I bet he will when they run the pattern again, however many years that'll be! :P
GEC is no longer producing more than 100 pieces for SFOs so they can focus on their own patterns
Your version has the best shield that's why it's so popular :p. cloud shield or hot dog shield, no thanks.
boy you love this company I bet you get a lot of freebies
that's one sexy blade !
so i missed the drop nooooo
