Yup. It's almost difficult to dodge the mace's hitbox like that. Its hitbox is kinda brokenly wide.

I used to play this over and over back on the GameCube, specifically this - Wesker and the Castle. Crossing 200K was the summit of my abilities. I'm glad I didn't know about your play style I'd have tried to emulate it for weeks and weeks more! Well done

I just recently played through re4 again for fun. when I went to unlock the hand cannon I got over 100k on each of the levels as my best records. Castle being 150k the highest one. Lol you doubled it. Impresses run for sure here. I noticed you was able to get a lot more enemies to show up by seemingly moving to different places. Usually I struggle to keep the streak alive because of running out of enemies to kill. So it gets to like 60 or 100 and ends
The trick is knowing where the spawn lines are and how many enemies each one spawns
I was never able to conclusively find out, does Wesker's silencer prevent the garradors from hearing you when you fire the handgun?

I always thought there was a combo limit on RE4, but now I know there isn't, thanks to you 😎
The only combo limit is the number of enemies on the map. In the case of Castle, there's 348 so it's not really possible to kill them all.
Castle is the only map where massive combos like this are valid, for the other maps it's better to break your run into 3 separate combos.

@@Sarcosuchas Did it also happened many times to you here in Castle map that though you shoot a cleric in a leg or in the abdomen more often, the parasite came out of their heads the same?? I was annoyed of this fact cause it happened to me many times playing in this scenario, PS2 verison.
@@DanDeyBananaJoe The Plagas in Mercenaries are scripted, so no matter where you shoot the zealot with a plaga, he will spawn it unless killed by a grenade.
@@Sarcosuchas Oh, I didn't know it yet. Thanks for the advice. I don't remember now if was RE4 or 5 that I've played the more times ever of all the games that I've finished, but I don't like Mercs of the 4 much still today. I've made only 2 maps in 5 stars with Jack and Hunk in past and some others 3/4 stars rating. The one Mercs I loved was The Mercenaries Reunion (was that its name??) of RE5 with old and new RE characters like Rebecca, Barry, Josh etc.: SS grade in all maps with all single characters, I was hungry as hell to make SS ratings there, that period. 😅
Mercenaries is so broken, you need to keep that enemy flow going otherwise you'll hit a dry patch for minutes on end...
Nope. You need to make sure you are continuously crossing the spawn-lines that make the enemies appear. With 348 enemies in Castle, there's no way to hit a dry patch if you keep yourself moving.

@Manek Iridius The only way to hit a dry patch is to stop moving, stairs, ladders, doorways, etc are almost always spawn lines

The helicopter does not rescue wesker from zealots. The helicopter saves zealots from being massacred by Wesker.

Maybe graphical capability of consoles. Happened in re5 ps3 but pc has mercenary mode and extreme mode.... if I remember that’s the reason.
@@a.s.l711 RE5 on PS3 had the Mercenaries, but the PC version got No Mercy mode as well. This mode was later added to the PS4/Xbox One versions.
I don't think it's graphical limiations, it's just Capcom being lazy.

For PS4, a guy called scott_guitar has the record at over 320k+
For the North American Gamecube Version, Derek Taylor holds the record at 340k+
My score is impressive but not record breaking in any way.
The World record for the ps4 version is over 332k by my friend, Scott guitar. For the GC NTSC version it's 368170 by Derek Taylor. For pc/ps2 - 325k by raf. You'd better find out about the actual leader board before admitting someone wr of something. Sorry to sound rivallike, but such ignorance pisses me off.
Agreed, considering the videos are out there to be easily found. And failing that there are the old leaderboards on some websites that give some idea of what the standings are.
Yesterday (I think?) I beat my own record at 150K score and 90 something deaths, 70 combo. Lost it when the armored Garrador showed up and kept hitting me. I had actually forgotten that strategy to hang for a while at the start and continue to go up and down the stairs to trigger their spawns, so much I also forgot this map had 3 Garradores instead of 2. You've done a great, great work here and motivated me to continue trying. I just need to time my bonuses better :P

Just one thing: play that On a ps3. .. the character is soooo slow that hurts
The character isn't slow on PS3, the game just runs at 30fps instead of 60fps.
This is what it looks like to go from surviving, to thriving, to styling.
I mean, Wesker probably WOULD be this good

I think the highest streak I ever got was about 140ish with hunk in the village. I never knew about the spawn lines so I used to run out of targets.This run is unbelievable I can’t imagine how many hours he put in to achieve this.

Sarcosuchas Thanks for letting me know. Wonder why it had a cap on it. HUNKS neck breaker was super overpowered that’s how I killed the chainsaw girls quickly.
@@jamesreveley5998 Just to add variety to the maps, I guess. Each map has a maximum number of enemies and maximum possible score.
HUNK's neckbreaker is only really useful against the chainsaw sisters. It doesn't work on the other bosses unfortunately.

Brah i used krauser on this level and had 205 enemies in a row not missing a single person and got around 188,000. How in the bloody rat hole did u get 300K! Its crazy man those bastards do not spawn after around 4-5 min! I stay near the spawn pts and they just mill out so slowly.
The spawn points have limits. There's 348 enemies on Castle, so you have to cross the spawn lines constantly and make sure to change location after a certain number of kills.

I really really hope mercenaries make a come back in the remake with both HUNK and Wesker featured.

PS4 version has a much higher rifle drop rate than any other version
Tbh I don’t plan to do this kind of massive plays but I do respect people who gets this kind of plays. I’m just a completionist after all just wanted to get the handcannon (I alr did but Leon and Ada were the hardest to get 5 stars)

Mercenaries, costumes, long storymodes, coop system... You don't have to like RE4-6, but at least they had plenty to offer.
Also true. Though the leaned more towards action with RE6 looking like it was directed by Michael Bay, you at least got your money's worth with all the different modes and gameplay options.

I remember those days when i use to grind from Wesker in castle in Ps2 mode but with lack and delay of enemies in ps2 version , i manage to score like 130k + scores
And in Ps4 they have updated a lot of things Gud to see that
They only updated the graphics for the PS4 and other 60fps versions.
The PS2 and PC 2007 versions were the worst ones made and were inferior to the original Gamecube version, which every other version was adapted from (Wii, PS3, Xbox etc).

Combos can be made easily due to the overflow of the enemies in the area
We don't have that in ps2 old days
And yeah as u said the other features including graphics and Fps

@@jasonvoorhes6111 The difference in enemies is only 2. PS2 the maximum is 8 on screen, for the other versions it is 10.
I have high scores on the PS2 version as well, for Castle it's over 240k and that's without much practice on the different routes for that version.

Each map on RE4 has a different number of enemies.
Village: 124
Castle: 348
Base: 117
Waterworld: 156

The Switch version has more aggressive AI. I should try to do some videos on that version but I hate the controller lol
Sarcosuchas Really? Well, I did not know that. And well, get yourself a pro controller like the ones looking like an Xbox controller. I mean, the Switch port is already built with great control mapping, especially in case you use the Gamecube controller since the A button also perform Y button actions. Oh and BTW, well, the Switch isn’t the only port I have. I also have the Wii version, but too bad my Nunchucks is pretty messed up, especially with plug-in connection.

But even on Village with 124 enemies it's still possible to get 65k without bonus points of any kind.
@@Sarcosuchas Don't undersell yourself, it's obviously not that simple if you're putting the effort in to learn enemy locations as thoroughly as you have. Most people probably only put in the effort to get the 4* for each character, so what you achieve is pretty phenomenal by those standards

The current world record for Wesker on Castle is held by 98krauser. At least, I'm pretty sure. It's the highest score I can find on UA-cam.

The overall WR for Wesker Castle is held by Derek Taylor at 368k on NTSC Gamecube.
The PS2/PC07 WR is held by raf95lakhw at 333K.
The overall WR for all other versions is held by Math at 356k on Steam 60fps.
The majority of 98Krauser's WRs are exclusive to PS4, but on the WR leaderboards PS4 is not its own separate category.
And no, I don't speak to 98Krauser for various reasons, but I freely discuss tips and strategies with many of the other amazing Mercs players on this game.
Bro did you notice that why they didnt added chris in re4 \ and his boulder punch, not because he will do it years later, its because he could punch so many boulders that the castle itself gets destroyed making him too overpowered after hunk and mike
Assuming he had learned to punch boulders by the time of RE4. He ran away from them in RE1 lol

I'm playing Re 4 with couple of friends on pro difficulty. Death and pass the controller. And mercs when during intermissions. I usually deal with the hard parts, and I get to hear that I make it look so easy. Should show them these videos and be like "this is how its really done." They would throw console through the window lol.
