      😂 LOL. No worries bruv! I’m a Montrealer… I had a few good laughs at the mispronunciations… especially Pie-Air!! 🤣
The end statement however, and this has nothing to do with the narrator’s errors, is…inaccurate let’s say. We call him “Flower” because his last name, “Lafleur”, means “The flower” in French! That’s all. LOL
      Great video still! Liked it!

Hey, I won't judge a human for mispronouncing stuff, especially if it was someone with no connection to the source material. But tell me you didn't use a computer generated voice-over. I mean, you've got 3000 subs and you say you hired somone? Matter of fact, if you were a Quebecois dude or dudette that didn't speak English very well, I would have preferred it in broken English. As a Maritimer, I can deal with that.

All this guy did to break Bruins fans hearts yet his talent superseded the agony to the Boston fans. He lit those Championship teams up. R.I.P Guy,, you’ll never be forgotten in Boston.

Guy Lafleur is not only my favourite hockey player of all time ... he's my favourite athlete of all time in any sport. I lived in Montreal during the 1970s and 1980s and was an avid hockey fan. Orr, Gretzky and Lemieux could arguably be considered better than Lafleur all around. But NOBODY was more electrifying or played with more speed and flair, taking the puck end to end time after time after time, game after game. He was also incredibly shy and humble. Not only was he a prolific scorer, he was also a sublime passer of the puck, making blind, behind the back passes all the time straight to a teammate's stick. For all these reasons Canadiens' fans held Lafleur in the highest esteem and keep him in their hearts to this day. I know I do.

Saw Guy Lafleur play and in the game, he picked up the puck as he was racing around the rink, he picked it up, at the blue line and skated with it all the way down and around his own goal, moving up the ice all the way to the opposite goal and scored. It amazed me the speed he exhibited, and the art of scoring while skating down the ice like a lightning streak. One of the greatest hockey players to ever, skate on the ice.

As a teen in the 70s, I was a huge Habs fan and Lafleur was THE MAN. After his first retirement 1985, I met him during one of his charity golf tournaments at a resort north of Montreal. I was in a sales meeting there and I had heard Lafleur was there too for a golf tournament. Late evening, when I was chatting with my colleagues at the resort bar, one of them said "look behind you". Lafleur was sitting with his friends from television. It was like seeing a ghost. It was past last call but we had an open bar so I walked up to his table and asked them if they wanted another round of beers. Lafleur said yes, stood up, thanked me and shook my hand. I was surprised at the large size of his hand (I've since met another fan who shook his hand and had the same reaction). I told Lafleur that since his retirement, I had lost a lot of interest in hockey. He thanked me and I went on my way. I didn't want to bother him with an autograph or photo. I just wanted to thank him for all the thrills. I found it impressive that he would stand up to shake my hand. After all, he had had thousands of fans come up to him through the years. But that was Guy Lafleur. His fans meant a lot to him and he gave a lot in return. A great man in the true sense of the word. Its a real shame the way he was treated by the Habs in his late career. Still makes my blood boil when I think of it. Another player of that era who that had that much talent and class in one body was Bobby Orr.

in 1984 Lafleur did not retire due to injuries, he retired to due disputes with then coach Jacques Lemaire and wanted to be traded by GM Serge Savard. But Savard didn't want to trade him so Lafleur retired instead.

The small town is Thurso. Who is Morris Risher? Who is Zunn Belly Vohhh? Who is Even Cournoyer? Ivan's brother? You make it sound like Lafleur was skipping practices all the time. That is wrong and misleading. Lafleur was late to a practice a couple of times and perhaps missed one practice, I cannot remember, but I know this: he was not consistently skipping practices as you mention here.

You provided a very good summary but it was a bit repetitive. My only other complaint is you need to improve the French pronounciation of French Canadian players. You got a number of them right but there were some that were painful to hear. My comments are not meant to criticize you, they are intended to help you improve the quality of your broadcasting material. Well done overall. 90 out of 100.

Excellent video! In 1970, The Seals traded their first round draft pick to Montreal in exchange for Ernie Hicke and François Lacombe. This was an historic trade for Montreal. But for the Seals, one of the worst trades in NHL history. However, I always enjoyed watching Guy Lafleur play for Montreal, Quebec, and the NY Rangers.

So many inaccuracies in this video, and I do not mean the mispronunciations. Side Note: The hat waving at 9:46 was the night they retired LaFleur's #10 at the Forum February, 16, 1985. I was at that game in Montreal, have the hat, and got him to autograph it the next night in Buffalo after the home and home against the Sabres, who's Coach then was Scotty Bowman, as they honored him as well.

I wore my #10 Guy Lafleur shirt to meet him and when he saw it, he came right up to me and signed it, without me asking or anything. That's the type of guy he was. He loved the fans and loved people. There will NEVER be another Flower. I can still picture him streaking down the right side with that hair flowing and blasting the puck behind opposition goaltenders. He was such a great shooter as well as a great skater. Marcel Dionne was also amazing...but he wasn't Guy Lafleur. Sam Pollack was a genius. Scotty Bowman's only job as Head Coach was to open and close the door for Lafleur and the rest of that great team. Cheers from Ottawa.

I was 8 when I became a Montreal Canadiens Fan in 1968 as Beliveau was 36 and was the Captain and leader of their 1960s DYNASTY (as well as being in his PRIME with the 1950s 5-straight Stanley Cup Canadiens) where they won 4 of 5 straight Stanley Cup Finals. The most exciting players were Lafleur, Perrault and Orr in 1975, and it was Beliveau (now in Management after he retired in 1971) that took Guy aside and encouraged him to be the Leader of the Team, and Guy was ready to accept the challenge. Most but not all what you said was accurate (as with the pronunciations of their names, like BELL-EEVO INSTEAD OF BELL-A-VOE ...AND PEE-AIR is closer to how PIERRE is pronounced...at least you sort of caught yourself or your VOCAL-AI TEXT READER....(giggle). I cannot speak much French either but I do know how the names are to be pronounced. Anyway I have 57 years of either watching or playing Hockey (as a Goalie in minor hockey and at college), and watched closely the 8 Stanley Cups
in the 1968-1979 time frame and to a lesser degree the 1986 and 1993 Cups (tougher wins those last 2). Guy was HOT from late 1974 to 1980, and yes, that 1976-77 Team with the 60-8-12 record was a great team. Back then Sam Pollock made great trades to get #1 draft picks. I wish they also had a pre-draft pick of say French Canadien Players as a Team with Perrault and Dionne, and later Mike Bossy would have gained them even more Stanley Cups!
