- Using Viking weaving techniques to wrap stones without holes ( undrilled stone) as a pendant - Wire wrap stones no hole - How to make handmade jewelry from copper wire by Lan Anh Handmade
Viking weaving is one of the basic techniques, often used when making jewelry with wire and cord.
With rock (wire will not slip off) you can apply to almost all rock shapes (especially unspecified shapes) and use wire as well as cord (I don't have those stones so I can't do it)
In this video I made with copper wire and the stone has a definite, smooth shape (easy-to-slip rope) so it is only suitable heart-shaped, water-drop, oval, other shapes can be applied but the durability will not be high .
Depending on the size of the product, you can use it as a pendant, necklaces, earrings, keychains, or decorations.
The length and diameter of the wire used depends on the size of the stone you have
Suitable wire diameter is 0.3mm ( 28 gauge) - 0.4mm (26 gauge). Length from 30cm ( 12 inch) - 50cm ( 20 inch)
Use tape to fix the wire to stone, so that the cord does not fall during the process, making it easier to operate.
You can knit as tight or sparse you like
In the video I use :
28 gauge ( wire diameter 0.3mm ) : 30cm( 12 inch)
Heart shaped stone 1.8cm
Don't be discouraged if you don't succeed the first time.
With this pattern, figuring out how to avoid slipping while doing and using it, I had to try almost 20 times with different stone shapes, before being satisfied to shoot video. I wish you success with my way.
*** Music in the video :

01'54 - 05'01 : See You On The Otherside - The 126ers

07'39 - 10'50 : X Ray Vision - Slynk
TIPS :
- Before doing, Always be sure to straighten the wire for a more beautiful product

Obrigado pelos elogios, tenha um bom dia
I have literally been obsessed with this wrap for 4 years or more. I saw a picture of a rock wrapped like this on pinterest and have been trying to do it for years. I did come close but now I see EXACTLY how to do it, thank you so much!!!! 🙏🏻❤
Me too!
A few weeks ago I received a request to help her implement the product in the picture. She also did it many times but with no success. I did it successfully the first time but it was very difficult not to slip the wire during execution. so I tried it many times before finding simple way that anyone could do it. Hope it is useful for you
@@LanAnhHandmade very helpful thank you again so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤

Absolutely Beautiful ❣️
I tried 5 times... Apparently, my Wire is too CHEAP... it didn't come out like yours.
Doesn't work as smooth as yours...😭😭😭
this pattern works well with rough stones, I had a hard time making this pattern with smooth stones too
This technique is so beautiful, but I am having difficulty ending it. Could you please explain further? Thanks!
You finish by looping the wire around the front wire , keeping it from slipping
I love how simple and sturdy this tutorial is. It can lead to many new ideas too! Thanks! I followed and am excited to learn more from your channel!
thanks, Hope you find more useful things from my channel

I know this isn't your latest post. I have been inspired by your craft work. You are a maker hero to me just like Adam Savage, just a different aspect of materials, tools, and work. I do wish I had some of your skill with wire wrap for the stones I've been polishing. Thank you for vids.
Thank you very much, I'm glad my work positively affects you, Hope you find more useful things from my channel
I needed this ! This is the perfect way to wrap a stone I have. I've been looking at methods but not found the right thing.. until now !!! Thank you.
I'm glad that my work is useful to you, wish you make a lot of beautiful products
That looks really good, but would that work with a oval/circle shape Obsidian stone
it still works with other shapes. However, if the rock is slippery, the rope will be easier to slip
Thank you...I love natural stones...where I live, I am always picking them up and they have no holes...most are obsidian...finally you show how to wrap them....I love your designs and your teaching methods click with me very well...Thank you !!!🙂❤✌🙏
thanks, Hope you find more useful things from my channel
I've been seeing this wrap on a Facebook group for wrappers of stones and thought it looked hard but I'll try it. I hope it's as easy as you made it look! Thanks! All your jewelry is so beautiful!

Ĺindo!!! Muito bem feito, bem trabalhado.
Que bom que você gostou, tenha um bom dia
How are you making tape stick to a polished rock?
I used paper tape, it still works, you can replace it with whatever you have
That looks really good. I'm going to try that on some seaglass.
thank you liked , Wish you success and make more beautiful products
Beautiful I'll give it a try, would this technique work on a completely round stone?
Sara Clarke; I believe it does work on a round stone. I saw a pink one displayed close to the end of her tutorial and with other stones she wire wrapped.
It works on any shape as you are wrapping it round the shape
This method is not applicable to spherical stones. for round or steeply sloped shapes are applicable but the strength will not be high
Lan Anh Handmade thank you xx
Thank for that, it’s very well illustrated 👏
thanks, Hope it is useful for you
Congratulations to you half a million participants
Thank you very much

wish you make a lot of beautiful products 😆😄
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing. Question... I believe you said that it is 28 gauge copper. Does this tarnish? Also, do you have a link for where to purchase the wire you used in the video? Thank you very much.
I bought all the material and stones in where I live (Vietnam)
I used to round copper wire - magnet wire (type of wire not used to make jewelry, Its price is very cheap) . it's the only kind I found where I lived for many sizes. I do not know exactly what type it was, can be normal copper wire, it have plating layer, and not dark by time
you can change to suit the material you have
I saw some online shop selling raw materials for making jewelry
www.beebeecraft.com/
or www.pandahall.com/
Práctico y muy hermoso. Gracias

I've always been into gemstones and jewelry. So I recently decided to try wire wrapping the gemstones. However, I have a problem with my hands and they're not very strong and I am struggling to just hold the wire and plates to try to wrap it!! I literally was thinking maybe I can weave it somehow!!! I was looking at a video of the ocean and somehow I landed on this page! I'm so grateful! This is exactly what I needed to help me wrap the stones!!! Thank you so much!! 😘

Lan, I subscribed just because of this wrap. Thanks for the video. Which gauge do you prefer, 26 or 28?
thanks, Hope you find more useful things from my channel
I usually use 19 and 20 gauge ( diameter of 0.8 - 0.9mm) to bend, 28 gauge (diameter of 0.3mm) to wrap
