- Back in the early years of Nickelodeon around the year of 1984 The Network had been struggling losing over $10 million dollars. They had not really had another hit show since Pinwheel and they were having a difficult time maintaining viewership. The Network would hit rock bottom finishing dead last among all U.S Cable Channels. After firing all management staff MTV networks president Bob Pittman turned to Fred Seibert and Alan Goodman who were the heads behind MTV's massive boom in the 80's to reinvigorate the Nickelodeon Network, what came in the Next decade was what many people describe to this day as the Golden Age of Nickelodeon, 90's Nickelodeon.

I missed some of the nick gameshows, like legends of the hidden temple, guts, figure it out, double dare 2000 when i was a kid i always wanted to join in any of these gameshows.

When I was very young I went to universal studios in Orlando and saw legend of the hidden temple live. Man I miss those days :(

Its amazing to see how far Keenan Thompson has come! Hes been doing this since he was just a baby!!!
Decent video but didn’t quite capture how iconic Nickelodeon was during this time. My TV was constantly on Nick from about 91-97. Nick had a good mix of non-Nicktoon cartoons as well as shows that any age could enjoy. I mean..the game shows alone we’re great. Nick in the 90s was far more than “All That”, “Kenan and Kel” and the “Amanda Show”.

I clearly remember watching the initial debut of Snick. It was during a terrible thunderstorm in Central Texas, and it had been hyped so hard in the preceding weeks, so my sister and I sat through the entire thing.
I miss 90s nick, I look at nickelodeon today and ask myself What went wrong? I wish I could go back in time and relive the 1990s all over again. p.s. my favorite nicktoon was angry beavers.

Ah the 2000s were my childhood so many shows i enjoyed back then such as I Carly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Drake & Josh, Sam & Cat and countless other shows. Great job on this video.

Nickelodeon should do a documentary for kids about the history of everybody's favorite kid's channel, Nickelodeon. And also put out an autobiography of the channel itself, its origins and history. Children deserve to know about this.

I forgot that The Mistery Files of Shelby was on Nick. Also, I forgot that Adam Busch played her best friend, Noel. He was so good at being bad on Buffy. I've met him a couple of times at his band's shows, and he so sweet. I told him I was a huge Buffy fan and was trying not to fan girl and that I think his band, Common Rotation, was ALOT better than the main act. He told me he got it because he fan boyed when he met an actor from The Wire. Then he told my friend and I that we could stay for the second act for free. He's a truly nice guy. A few months later, my friend and I went to a free concert up in Harrisburg and he remembered us and gave us the set lists at the end of the show. Good job, Nick, you helped make a real standup guy.
TV in general was better thru the 80s and mid 90s.

I miss pinwheel, that was where I turned on off days from school. I’m even looking at the re runs now days. Wish pinwheel could come back. You would need new actors to do the puppets, unless you get new ones.
