This is the bridge that my mother warned me about - literally! She told me of her horrifying experience of driving a small convertible car across the original span back in the 1960's. She had never gone that way before and freaked out when she saw the bridge. She was more afraid of this one than its more notorious southern neighbor, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I've only driven back and forth across the Delaware bridge a couple of times in my life and I will say that it is quite massive and intimidating looking upon approach. Unfortunately drive over videos do not do it justice in that way at all. In person it looks unbelievably steep and high, but it really isn't bad to drive over at all.

Beautiful bridges 🌉. The color is so beautiful, too. My Aunt Mary would have a panic attack going across them, she would have my Uncle do it instead.
