hopefully i get some gift birds from you sir & i been watching your’e youtube channel to learn more about racing pigeon in America. i’m from chicago il sir.
I can’t think of a single source with all that information… I’ve tried to cover all those topics throughout my videos, but watching all of those might take some time 😉 But it is a fun hobby indeed. Feel free to message me with any questions
@@DEVINdevdev pretty small. As a teenager I raced my small young bird team out of a rabbit hutch. When I got started up again 8 years ago u started pretty small. See ua-cam.com/video/wDnWUkRnkYw/v-deo.htmlsi=1-2RvjzIvy3H4Uty
honestly i suspect i will have some late pairs to work with my early pairs... i didnt have enough nest boxes set up because of being so ill, so only a few of the potential pairs had a "place" (and as you know a few decided on awkward places on the floor) since i am getting more nest boxes in place, i hope a few more will be able to be paired up
Seems like every year I have one or two that decide the floor is the best place even when there are open boxes. Oh well. I need to get nest boxes set up in one of my other sections; not looking forward to doing that. Good luck with your pairs! Your youngsters are looking great!
@@SfisoSoxujwa where are you located? If you are looking for racing pigeons try to find someone in your area who races pigeons and either get some from that person or get more info about racing pigeons through them
Great question! They are on 18 hours of light. Some people go a full 24 hours of light. That’s great that you’re on year two! Best wishes for 2024 my friend!
Hi Jovanie! I made the nest boxes and the nest box fronts. I’m in the process of making more fronts. I have sold them to a few fanciers in the past by request. Message me for details.
Hi! There used to be an IF club that was specifically for Carroll Co, but it dissolved just last year after several decades of being active. Give me a call or send me a message at 7O662I3l38
oh, i know you probably know this and all, but... once you have had lung issues you are always more fragile. with all the pigeons stirred up a mask might be a good idea..
Good question! The homing/navigating ability is an instinct that cannot simply be taught. If it’s not there then they won’t be able to navigate home quickly or at all. That said, for racing pigeons where this trait has been selected for, the more practice with training tosses the more experience the birds get with it until it becomes a routine. You can also try to motivate them to quickly come home by not over feeding them, or providing a mate for them that’s waiting at the loft for them (widowhood racing). Hope that helps
It makes me miss my pigeons.
😢 Hope you can get back into pigeons at some point soon!
It is crazy the difference a few hours makes. They look great! Hope you have a successful 2024 breeding season👍
Right?! Thanks for the well wishes my friend. I’m gonna have to pick something special to fly in your loft
