Fun fact: Written by Steve Porcaro, better known as one of the Porcaro brothers that formed the big 80s rock band Toto. Incredibly musical family. In an interview he said it was inspired by his little daughter coming home from school upset because a boy said something mean to her. She asked him "why would he do that?" and he replied "human nature". Then he sat down and wrote this musical masterpiece.
I just think that he made this song for his haters, asking them, to stop this accusing... In the video when Michael Jackson was preparing himself for This Is It, he says "This Is It, this is... this is the... final curtain call, ok? bye... then..." Some of us KNOW. Love you Michael. I know that NO MAN can produce the sublime without a Divine Connection that's been lovingly tended like a Backyard Garden. I know who you are, Brother. I see you. He is with you, always🫂❤️🔥✝️📖🙌🕊️
I played this song while staring at the night sky, it was cloudy and there wasn’t a single star in sight. Suddenly, one appeared and shined in the sky. I just had this feeling that it was Michael saying hello.
I have been following the anthology of Michael Jackson since he went solo in 1979. I knew of the Jackson Five and the tremendous talent, but Michael's music crossed all barriers. It allowed many people to prepare for the 1980s because we all knew Michael had yet to hit his peak. Thriller was just a few years away and would redefine music videos. On July 3, 1983 , I heard Human Nature in the car heading to a party. It was phenomenal, and I couldn't wait to buy the single.I went to several record stores, but they were sold out. It was several weeks before I got my copy but it was worth it. This song has always given me a euphoric high every time it is played. The level of intensity is just as great in 2023 as it was in 1983. Let that sink in, still going strong 40 years after it was first played. May 2024 bring you peace, love, prosperity, and happiness. Find peace within yourself and may it be infectious to the world.
@@olivemargaretmusoke6881 , MJ's memory is safe as his talent cannot be erased from the humankind's consciousness. Fun Fact: The songwriter for this song named this “human nature” because his daughter got hit by another boy at a playground. The daughter asked “why did he hit me” and the dad (who is the songwriter) told her that it was “human nature”.
So iconic and still is! I remember my dad had the vinyl back in the day (we weren’t allowed to touch it lol). Nostalgia! I’ve got 2 copies of the vinyl album. ❤️ I’m grateful I was able to experience growing up with musical artists like Michael Jackson in the 80’s.
Ian Dyke OMG that’s amazing lucky you... I was too young to go to his concerts.. what’s it’s like being at a MJ concert??? I see video footage of people literally fainting and screaming their lungs out to get to him. It seems all his concerts were standing room only so they also crammed as many people in as possible.
Let's not forget the mastermind behind the scenes who produced it as well (Quincy Jones). Also, the album as a whole wouldn't be considered the masterpiece it is without Him.
Song written by Steve Porcaro of Toto. He plays keyboards, synth and fellow Toto bandmates David Paich, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather contribute also. Basically, this is a Toto song with Michael singing lead.

first time in history an artist or singer hasn't has any bad songs in his whole career even though they killed him but his legacy and music lives in our hearts the legend of legends .. the king of music
The ending/fading outro of this song is so beautiful. It's like a certain pleasant and at the same time nostalgic feeling is fading away, escaping your grasp forever and leaving you longing, sad and unfulfilled. It can be anything- fond child memories, past love etc. These events can't be relived for a second time in your life. All you have now are memories which will live within you as long as you live. Go share the stories and fondest memories of the past with your family, closest friends and overall people who care about you. In that way you are going to relive them once again as you are telling them out loud. Stay safe and spread love. Love from Germany/ Bulgaria
I like your perspective on this but I want to believe that we can repeat the past and manifest those memories again. It reminds me of "The Great Gatsby" scene (Leonardo Di Caprio) where he says "Can't repeat the past ?! Of course you can..."
I feel exactly the same way about the ending, it’s incredible how you put these into words in a way that is completely in line with my understanding! I’d suggest you to watch the This Is It version where they put together Michael’s rehearsals. At the very end, I feel like all three footages represent Michael in different decades and I get so nostalgic that a crying feeling captures my whole body :’) We’ve been lucky to have witnessed this talent and that our memories got meaningful with his music. Thank you for your comment, I felt understood :)

"Human Nature" Looking out Across the night-time The city winks a sleepless eye Hear her voice Shake my window Sweet seducing sighs Get me out Into the night-time Four walls won't hold me tonight If this town Is just an apple Then let me take a bite If they say, "Why? Why?" Tell 'em that is human nature Why, why does he do it that way? If they say, "Why? Why?" Tell 'em that is human nature Why, why does he do it that way? Reaching out To touch a stranger Electric eyes are everywhere See that girl She knows I'm watching She likes the way I stare If they say, "Why? Why?" Just tell 'em that is human nature Why, why does he do it that way? If they say, "Why? Why?" (Do you really like me to be around?) Tell 'em that is human nature Why, why does he do it that way? I like livin' this way I like lovin' this way That way (The way it was.) That way (The way it was.) Yes it make sense why is it healing. The composer of this song is Steve Porcaro from the band Toto. He was inspired when his daughter was in elementary school and came home one day SAD after a boy bullied her. She asked why the kid do it, to which Steve responded perhaps he had an interest in her and dismissed the boy's behavior as human nature. Of course, the early lyrics were different.

MJ is often praised for his dancing and performing but I don’t think he always gets the credit he deserves for his vocals. He was a very talented singer!
Nuance. Between the script of the video and the vocals, Michael was expert at portraying himself as the aching stud ... who finds the girl who understands the problem just in time. It's a sure-fire bit if you've got it going on.

I think MJ thought to be accused again for children pedophilia, while being on stage...
The day he started rehearsing for "This Is It", he may thought "Will i be accused again, because they wouldn't believe me ? All the things you thought are not true! I'm innocent and i went to bed with my children, because I like their innocence... I don't want to end their lives" I thought that thing in those days... 😔😔😥😥😔😔

Wow
Only Michael could perform this song so eloquently
I love you Michael! RIP.

Looking out
Across the night-time
The city winks a sleepless eye
Hear her voice
Shake my window
Sweet seducing sighs
Get me out
Into the night-time
Four walls won't hold me tonight
If this town
Is just an apple
Then let me take a bite
If they say, "Why? Why?"
Tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why does he do it that way?
If they say, "Why? Why?"
Tell 'em that is human nature
Why, why does he do it that way?

To touch a stranger
Electric eyes are everywhere
See that girl

Yes it make sense why is it healing.
