15:33 - Quote of the year. If it isn't crazy customers. it's crazy neighbours. Damn. people love the sound of their own voice. First time in my 20 years or so doing snow in Southern Ontario, there will be not one event before the turn of the year.

Like you've said before, you have to train your customers. If you get chronic complainers, its time to fire them. You don't need the headaches.

You guys are crushing it!! I'd try to hire some work from home folks to answer the phones during peak times. They could also listen to and log the voicemails. I would run a ticketing system (if you already aren't) and then you can track and handle things more easily. I would look into an IVR (automated press 1 for billing) system to create tickets automatically and get people the info they need automatically. After all what are all these people calling about? I assume they want you to come back and touch up etc. Ideally though you should push customers towards filing their own ticket / requests online.

I would gladly work for you dude! You treat your employees so well! I would be first one to the shop and last to leave and with my mechanic and autobody background I'm sure I could do more then just run a tractor

Merry Christmas Stefano, those complainers are a Pita but it is what it is. I was wondering aside from a real breakdown when the mechanic goes out say one or both the sheer bolts breaks do the mechanics go out for that as well? If so, how often does it occur? Not sure if you do this already bit maybe to decrease operator downtime they could do the switchout themselves. Equip the tractors with spare bolts for both the auger and Pto along with a couple of wrenches and within 5-10 min they’re back in action. That may save time and increase efficiency, just throwing it out there. Good luck with the season

Thank you for the great tip! We have had this system in place for years as each tractor is equipped with loaded tool boxes so operators can handle basic repairs out in the field.

Merry Christmas to you and your workers. And it's very hard to get people to come to work. In the middle of the night But it's too bad that you can't just stay in the office and take care of phone calls because you know what's going on instead of being out in a tractor that's one down fall that's going on.
but if you hired. Someone to work in the office, say what? Have to go around and see your route. So they are familiar what's white is going on. But it's kinda late now since they're snow on the ground. To know where the light lines are and everything. And where to blow the snow? I think you understand what I'm trying to say. So you have a great day and keep up the great work.

How is the M5-111 working out?

  • @AmsDealer70

Not only do you need one rep for each 1000 clients, you need a few more to go into the field to specifically handle the negative customers. Face them about it to turn them frowns upside down.
Next issue: the broken fuel pump. It should be under warranty.
Pumps run 40,000+ psi to inject fuel. If the bearings go out, it’ll just recirculate/leak, But this one runs which means it’s getting fuel. A broke line or seal would just gush.
    Might be a recall too.
Next issue: Getting people to show up.
They used to say showing up is half the job. Those long hour jobs kill your health. Might consider putting a few snooze rooms in for the crew. What’s that song, “No sleep til Brooklin” ? 😂 Treat the situation like the fire department. All decks on hand.
Get some snooze time in…. Short naps will revitalize a weary crew.
Lastly, I’m not trying to make change into Amsoil because I’m a dealer. I’m in it because I know it will improve efficiencies across the board.
    Your R.O.I. Return on investment
Will be up to 10% or more on fuel savings
Keeping equipment out of the shop
Much of easier starts when cold.
Much less wear at idle which will Kill all Diesels
    C.O.I. Cost of Inaction
    Broken equipment
    More fuel wasted
    50% more maintenance changing fluids/filters
    More down time
Hundreds of testimonials at Amsoil. Here’s one of them:

I noticed in the video you seem to be turning the blower on and off a bunch, isn't that hard on the machine? I would have thought you just left the PTO on the whole time you are out blowing snow..

If you have extra guys coming in, why can't they take care of the phone calls because they know what the routes are?
