Scuba Diving in Koh Tao, Thailand: I went to Koh Tao in Thailand to purse PADI Open Water Diver certification. Koh Tao Island in Thailand is known for scuba diving and snorkelling and I planned a 5 day trip to complete PADI Open Water Dive course. The PADI Open Water Scuba Diving course is a 4 day course which involves theory session, confined pool session and 4 dives in the open water. We completed all that to get certified PADI open water diver and it allows us to dive anywhere in the world upto 18m.
I selected Koh Tao as it is very good fro scuba as coral & sea-life is great and water is warm with less current. There are many dive centre in Koh Tao offering the courses and dives. Koh Tao Diving trip cost-wise was as very reasonable with some great stay options for budgeted traveller.

I didn’t do advance cuz I didn’t have extra 2 days to spend in Koh Tao and I also wanted to few more dives before I proceed for advance. Difference between advance n regular is the depth and night dive!
Koh Tao is very safe island for solo Traveller, you will actually come across many solo Traveller

Do you need to do the padi e-learning course before the dive course ?

We did the learning course in the centre so e-learning was not needed. Incase you want to reduce 1 day of course then opt for e-learning. I would suggest doing it with the actual course.

Madam can you please tell me the total cost of accomodation and scuba course and if there is any discount for doctors??

The accommodation is provided by the scuba institute and those are at reasonable cost. We paid 1100 THB for scuba course and stay was additional. There is no discount provided, all the rates across institute is constant and no discount is offered.
