This poem highlights the battle of the common man or woman and the uncommon unconditional love of God. It exemplifies how as humans, sometimes we convince ourselves that God has forgotten about us we magnify our mistakes. However, God is a forgiving God. Therefore through relationship and God's love, and not through judgment and condemnation of the church, will we begin to surrender and see souls saved.(Set aside from the script of the poem, notice the significance with imagery)
