I've just repaired my with the service kit and it is now SO SMOOTH! Thank you for the handy video. I emailed snapon and they told me the exact link for the part to order
pst-ir.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Hand_Tools_Part_4.pdf page 14 of that pdf (page 217 in the catalog pictured), right side, 2nd image; "Interchangeable blades", part # SGDMRC60
Very cool. I have an original at work. I might have to pick that bit set up and modify my ratcheting driver. What was the model number for the 6 piece bit set?
And did you see all those pot metal ( probably Zamak ) parts inside that driver ? I just don't get why most ratcheting drivers these days use pot metal parts inside, can't they at least use sintered steel ?
@@MattLitkeRacing I found two washers and a thin guitar pick (if you buy the right size washers, I’m sure it’s less finicky) really tightens up the mechanism and holds the blade super nicely.

What’s the part number for the interchangeable shaft and is made by snap on?
SGDMRC60!
Can you do a video on how to install the SO rebuild kits for these ratcheting screwdrivers?
Do you you think it would work for a t handle ? Thanks.
My old trust green handle is no longer holding on the ratchet - can you recommend how to fix it / replacement parts etc? Thanks!
🙌🏽ty for this!

very nice hack
how did you know when that screwdriver was made and whats the part number for the non magnetic bit set?
All Snap on tools have date codes
You can google the decipher chart.
Did you ever find the part number?
Once you do this does it void any warranty?
I did this on a SSDMR4B and the interchangable shaft is loose and moves up and down , Any ideas?
Snap on
Do you by any chance know if this will work on Williams?
Just did it. I’m still working on some of the movement the shank has, but it’s pretty solid and feels pretty good.
That’s way too easy! I wonder if the cheaper Williams does the same thing?
Just did it myself. Works great on the Williams. Has a little play but I’m working on shims.
@@DenyTheZeitgeist very cool thanks 🤘
