It's too sad he retired early. The problem and the "hate" you're talking about do not come from the fact that he was 37 and beat up, the problem is that he had ZERO real fights under his belt, and barely 2 years of training : and with that he got a ticket for the highest level pro MMA company , a ticket that young guys who have been training for years , blood sweat and tears their whole life, do not obtain . Punk is definetly a nice guy, can't say anything bad about him but i dont like how he was even given this shot. He had absolutely no business in the UFC.
honestly, i don't even understand that hate on cm punk trying to fight in the UFC he came in at the age of fucking 37 way past the time to even start MMA let alone all the beating his body took from years on WWE he earned my respect regardless
it's because he had no combat sports experience, leapfrogged over an entire process, and got his spot on a main card in a numbered event simply because of a pro-wrestling reputation. This is the biggest event in MMA....you can't just pull ppl off the street. You've got to earn your shot. Punk did NOTHING to earn his spot on that card.
The problem and the "hate" you're talking about do not come from the fact that he was 37 and beat up, the problem is that he had ZERO real fights under his belt, and barely 2 years of training : and with that he got a ticket for the highest level pro MMA company , a ticket that young guys who have been training for years , blood sweat and tears their whole life, do not obtain .
This is the reason why punk was hated by every young aspiring MMA fighters, and even UFC fighters who do know what it takes, the sacrifices that they have to make in order to be pro MMA athletes.
