Great idea to make your own. I bought a beer filter but hardly use it now as I nearly had a disaster after leaving it in overnight and my eazypod overflowed and k1 was everywhere took me ages to pick it up I had to clean all the soil off it before getting it back in.
Great idea for use on a gravity fed Eazy Pod but I'd be hesitant to use it on a pump fed system unless you are meticulous with cleaning. If the screen clogs on a gravity fed system you could starve your pump of water. Not great but at least there'd be water in the pond for the fish. On a pump fed system if the screen clogs the Eazy Pod could overflow with the end result being emptying your pond. Hope I don't sound too negative but I always tend to look for the 'what could possibly go wrong scenario' when making any changes to my pond. Hope your diy sieve continues to work the way you've planned. 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks for your input Ken buddy much appreciated there is no way of my pond emptying when the water level on my easy pod get to the lowest level of the outlet of the inner chamber the pump will stop so at the most I will only loose approx 1 ft of water 👍
Good DIY job Martyn ;-) My EazyPod is gravity fed from the bottom drain, with 24l, (6l extra), of K1 micro. I have been using the 'beer filters' a year now, change mine every day, simple swap and hose off the dirty one for next time. My son 3D printed adaptors that fix to the top of the stainless threaded part and sit over the central outlet tube, holding the 12" filter in. Really helps to reduce the fines.
Nice idea, Martyn! 👍
Thanks my friend 👍
