Sein Englisch ist für meine Einschätzung sehr gut. Reichtum schließt Bildung nicht aus. Auch 2023 nicht überholt, sondern zeitgemäß.

Knew Princess Gloria through mutual acquaintances a few years prior to her marriage. She could have done better.

I recall reading Johannes was required to marry a woman related to him to prevent the introduction of commoners' genes into the family. I can't be sure that's accurate but royals and aristocrats do have their own, sometimes peculiar, rules of marriage and conduct. Gloria may have been recruited as a possible spouse, since she and the Prince are fourth cousins.

@@msr1116As others here have mentioned, that was the way of the nobility and to some extent, still is to varying degrees.
Of all the "royal" lineages of Europe, the Holy Roman Empire Hapsburgs adhered to this the most strictly.
This of course resulted in the famous Hapsburg facial features.

Wow. What a story. And I’m sure 100% the word taxi comes from them. 400 years ago they invented post carriage in Europe. People jumped on the carriage.

A relative of his, Gustav Franz Maria of Thurn and Taxis, was earmarked to be a member of the Thule Society and was executed by members of the Bavarian Soviet Republic.
