Thank you so much for this video man, call me stupid but for once I just couldn't figure out how in the world to open this power supply. Turns out it was easy just hidden, it is also so nice that the fan can be disassembled all the way down to basically bare bones which made it a lot whole easier to clean. Even after cleaning the console itself, this power supply was still making a whole lot of noise on its own in my desk, this quick clean made it incredibly more quiet. Excellent guide.
Big thank you .. I followed your very helpful video, replaced the capacitor and now it works again - one very happy son! A 50 pence part was all it cost.
Thanks for the video. Working to replace the caps now. I suggest looking at a video on soldering. Use the tip to heat up both part and pad then add solder. Makes for a solid connection. It shouldn't be a ball but rather a taper up the leg.
Passed on my Xbox One to my daughter but had this PSU issue. I was able to fixed it myself and my first time ever working with a board and capacitor! Thank you for giving me the confidence with a well detailed video!
Cheers man, I got 2 A12-220P1A powerbricks that are orange lighting and ”dead”. Console slightly beeps but doesn’t boot. I just opened the original one and it doesn’t even have a fan, tho the pin is on the board🤔 but same capacitor is expanded so I’ll be replacing that.
A storm came so I powered off my xbox one, turned off the power strip it was connected to and waited for the storm to pass. Storm passed, turned everything back on, plugged everything back in, power supply randomly dead. What the fuck.
I recommend replacing all electrolytic caps while you're at it. The growling sound after the cap replacement is from worn fan bearings. A drop of thin oil on the bearing sleeves will sometimes bring them back for some time, but I'd also replace the fan.
I just had the exact same problem with that exact same capacitor. I wonder if that is a common issue with those power supplies. Just need to pick up the cap. Thanks for the info!
Thanks. I missed that capacitor the first time I disassembled. Second time (10 minutes later after watching your video) I noticed the bubbled effect on it.
How did your pieces come off just like that? On the top part of the power supply. those 2 caps on the inside. Yours just basically fell off. I can't pry mine open.
If you watch the whole video, i found a capacitor that had cone bad. Also, sometimes an internal xbox fault will shut down the power supply. Either way, start with a clean and look for things that look odd.
what's the Orange Yellow light on brick even mean??The Brick bad or intetnal??Mi e shut off,Turn on twice after,When under loading Then kicked off,,Wonder if brick or inside??ALSO,,I can hear Fan in brick Click like gonna spin But Jus won't power up deck,,I still Get eject sound and Power button Ding
I just cleaned out my own PSU following this video, thanks past Ralph

Same issue is with me. Do you know which capacitor to buy or where to buy one which is compatible with the power cord.
@@Pathak06 I just took apart an old pc powersupply made by the same company and it had the same capacitors which were 16v1500uf 2cmx1cm
@@foktorrr7241does that mean to fix that all i need is a new power cord
@@iced_9163 no, in my case it was the capacitor that was shown in the vid

mines been sitting in a shelf unplugged for a few years and it worked last time i used it. it died sometime just sitting on a shelf for storage..
Same capacitor went bad on mine, even without all that dust. Thank you.

Having the same problem, gonna attempt this repair soon!
Best tutorial I’ve seen so far 👏
what does it mean when popping sounds happen on a powerbrick?
It means turn it off.
Hopefully it's just a clean needed but I would guess something has blown on the psu. It's normally an easy fix.
aye I smacked mine cause it was loud and then hit it too hard and it turned off and won’t work😨🙃😭
Can this fix the issue of the PSU shutting itself down while in use?
probably
I Need help. I try to plug the cord in the power supply it turns orange for 1 sec and turns off think I need to change some thing?

Its probably the same issue like mine. a bad capacitor.
Watch the video and it explains and shows you how to repair.
It's pronounced micro farad. But still a good video.
My power bank just went out too
Same here
Same am wonded
I'm guessing if mine smells like burnt turkey I should probably throw it away 😅
its prpbably the same issue as mine.
Sorry, gotta say, it's micro farods not ultra farods.
no problem, i stand corrected.
30 bucks, just replace it.
