- Eric Pupecki is featured in the second-to-last part of the Menace series. We went up to Eric's house in Rhode Island and had Eric show us all of his Menace boards and medallions from back in the day. I was always intrigued by Eric's mix of tech ledge skills and big flip tricks down stairs. We also had a chance to meet his wife and daughter, both of whom were extremely outgoing, and if it weren't for the huge spliff we smoked after the interview, I would have loved to talk with them more.

This is my favourite of the Menace series so far. The Gonz impression, his record collection, where he took his life post-skateboarding. Really cool dude.
Word to Pat O'Dell for creating this series. From a historian's perspective skating is a rare blessing because recording is already an innate part of it, and it's so new that most of skating's key figures are alive to give firsthand accounts.

Pupecki was so far ahead of his time on a board it's not even funny. Listen to Soc when he says that Pupecki didn't want to skate the same shit everyone else was skating. He was into way more tech shit. It's good to see that he's not dwelling in the past but reminiscing on the good times. There are definitely people out here who still recognize that he was super talented. Awesome seeing him with his family. Awesome episode.

I felt the same about daewon song back in the 90's and 00's. I always looked up to him and his tricks. I remember trying to talk to skaters in school. But they we're way into the Osiris team and basic street skating. I just accepted I'm more into the tech style than stairs and rails. I'm glad daewon has finally the respect that he deserves
I always thought Pupecki was so sick and underrated. He had such good style and trick selection for that time in skateboarding. I wish he would have gotten more shine back then. But he seems happy now, and he has a nice family, so good for him.
Coming from this era one thing that stands out is how candid and honest everyone is. Not just Menace but most of the guys from this era. Nothing to hide. This is what happened, this is how it was, no fronts. It was a great time.

yup me too. last yr high school was '92 for me, and good times. started skating late 8o's, just when decks first went from narrow to wide and tail kick then nose kick. built a 5' halfpipe, great fun and some serious KO's too lol. then surfing became the full time love. then unfortunately (?) life takes over, responsibilities, blah blah... yes, so diff then, no internet or cellphones, and we rode dinosaurs instead of cars....
