Wonderful restoration! I had never seen a "mechanical" Corgi toy before! The engineering for that motor shows why Corgi was such a force in the diecast toy market. I remember Studebakers very well from my youth. The Lowe body design was and is distinctive for cars of that era. I once almost bought the GT version. Ot drove beautifully, with excellent field of vision and control placement in the cabin. Your casting shined brilliantly upon polishing, and took the very lovely color scheme beautifully! Your application of the paint was first rate, as well as your lubrication solution for the inertia motor. Smooth as silk!!❤ Congrats, Paul! Beautiful job!!

You did a great job.👍🏻👍🏻 We had 4 studebakers, 1949 champion, 1956 and 57 Commanders, also 1966 Cruiser four-door sedan, the last year Studebakers were produced.
Absolutely beautiful and very interesting with the servicing of the friction drive 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻 Gold can be tricky to hand paint, cant it? These days, I always undercoat any gold areas with red first, both for brush and airbrush painting..... for yellow, I undercoat with a light pink and for silver, I use black first. Thats just me but it seems to pay off ☺️

Very interesting model congratulations. I have a question : is it possible to tell if a model is a Dinky or a Corgi without turning it upside down of course ( nor learning the catalogues by hart) ? Cause I can’t , except for the most famous models
after 1970, Corgi models and links are easier to distinguish because they differ in plastic wheels, each company has its own wheel design, while earlier models may indeed be similar, although the rims used by both companies are different, which is why I, for example, distinguish them mainly by their wheels. Unless of course I know model
Hallo Paul, wieder einmal eine schöne Restauration. Nur der Fehler mit dem Lenkrad ist fatal. Rechtslenker hat es nie gegeben. Das würde ich noch austauschen. (Neues Interieur tiefziehen und lackieren, oder über dem vorhandenen Loch vom Lenkrad ein kleines Decal kleben und das Lenkrad links anbringen). Sonst aber alles top.

You're really good at this. One question though, how do you avoid the die cast blistering or bubbeling? I am trying to renovate my sons die cast cars so any advice would be helpful.

Studebaker did produce right-hand-drive vehicles for the export market.
I was about to say the same thing, that the Steering Wheel was on the wrong side, but I didn’t know that Studebaker made cars for export….
