I've watched a lot of songs now from this "tour". They're doing a good job, and as a guitarist I appreciate that. I've loved Sammy since Montrose '73' Michael since "78, and Joe since Surfing/Always with you. Edward is a life hero to me, and I really miss him. But, let's be real. This tour, which I understand fully from Sam's view at his age, was presented (and importantly "sold") as a tribute to Edward Van Halen. That is far, far, far from what we are watching. These guys are all credible, highly skilled and mostly beloved (by me) and understandable, except: this is NOT what we were "sold" This is NOT a "tribute" to Ed, at all. So, we have "this;" but we still have no tribute. That's not directly Sam's and Mike's fault; they wanted (and totally deserved) to play in a tribute; but it seems especially Sam could have done better on that. I don't know, but It leaves me guessing precisely WHY absolutely NO ONE wanted to join. I mean, why did no one, and I mean NO ONE want to join in on this? At any point? That speaks for itself, and it really does not make sense, unless we've been mislead, which is kind of what I'm sharing. Every guitar player alive in the world would have given his left hand (ok, exaggeration) to play in Ed's tribute. I might have given my right pinkie, I mean, I never use it, really... But consider, do you think Nuno and Paul Gilbert and Brian May and Brad Gilles, and Slash and oh my gawd I could go on and on and on with names of who would not have wanted to play in a tribute to Edward Van Halen? But NO ONE is joining this charade. It's sad, and, well, selfish... to me. Thoughts? Just kind of a big bummer, misleading from the get-go.
Sammy yells out a random year before songs a lot of the time and it’s never even remotely close to the year the song came out. He said 1993. Van Halen didn’t even release a studio album in 93. This song if off OU812 released in 1988
He's also a pathological liar. The list is long. Claimed he was as big as Van Halen before he joined (massive lie) and he had several platinum records before joining VH (lie....he had zero), and VH didn't break big until Jump came out. As if we're supposed to forget their massive multi- platinum debut in 1978 and their following huge hit songs and albums that followed.
man this song sound bad, and satriani start to play like satriani...don't misinterpreted me, satch is gorgeous but he can't play van halen songs, he has not the groove eddie as guitar band player.
Satch is the perfect example of a music theorist turned shredder = has huge limitation and sounds robotic listen to him in 5150 into you will 100% get what i mean. Don't get me wrong he is one of the rare ones with Gilbert that can translate theory into practice not a lot of pro musicians can improvise with head filled with theory honorable mention steve lukather

I was there. In the 5th row. Most i ever spent for a show. Well worth it!

Do u know w/o looking how the 0U812 came from?
I thought the same thing. Sammy just says odd, random things sometimes. Kinda funny.

I live in GA ... and was upset I didn't go to see this until .... I SAW THIS ... wow ...I think they must have partied too much the night before
What’s the 1993 reference to?
When it was first released.
@@BeachCPA It was released in 1988, so maybe it’s something else or he just messed up.
Where do you see the '93 reference? Yes it was released in 88.
Not sure why he said 93 either, confusing knowing it was released in 88

amazing, Sounds just live a COVER BAND
Orrendi
The guy on keys is trying to cover Ed's vocal parts...This is horrible...Just stop...
He is an ausi dude... not sure how Sammy recruited him. 1 Ausi, 1 Brit, 2 Americans...that's how the band is.
He is Satriani's keyboard player atm, and plays guitar/sings in his own Aussie pop rock band "Thirsty Merc".

John 5 could do much better.
Sounds awful 😣
He is 76 and I can't expect him to sing like 1988 or even mid 90s... not fair, is it? :)

What do you expect from a cell phone recording 20-ish rows back?
👎👎👎👎
Try being 77 and singing this song!😮
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wow, the singing is horrible. And they even tuned down from the record.
Yea age is a mother fucker, of course they tuned down. Sammy is 76 and mike is 70, they arent gonna sing like its 1988
It sounded great from the 5th row. The sound quality of this cell phone recording is crap.
