    We should continue this experiment where you put the 10 in a smaller vehicle than the 12 and 15 and see what happens

      You loose output with not enough airspace like two 15s in a truck won’t perform as well as two 12’s

    • @bass305-HCCA

      @Thumper68 that's correct. It's all about the transfer function of the vehicle

    • @MotoAtheist
      @MotoAtheist 11 місяців тому

      And what exactly would be the point? This demo was an "all else being equal" scenario so even if you put them in a small vehicle, the outcome will be the same. As long as you can provide the proper box for the sub, the larger sub will always win out when all else is equal... ie, same location, same power.

    • @bass305-HCCA
      @bass305-HCCA 11 місяців тому

      @@MotoAtheist yeah, that's not correct. It depends on the transfer function of the vehicle

      @@bass305-HCCA LOL! Sure thing. That's why you never see big subs in smaller vehicles... oh wait, pretty sure I saw tons of them at Slamology and can find tons on UA-cam as well. Yeah, large subs are just garbage, useless junk, waste of money.

      You are misunderstanding what people are saying. An 8 in sub in a specifically designed box can sound like a 12.
      Also some people buy expensive 8s and compare it to cheap 12s.
      There’s so many factors that this video isn’t about.

      @redman112010 11 місяців тому +1

      Maybe the guy didn't have a very good 12, and the 8 he got after was way better and had it on more power with a better tuned box. You can make an expensive high power 8 sound better than a cheap crap 12 in a Walmart box. But apples for apples like this comparison, the 12 will be louder.

    I looked up the specs and they both can use a 2 cubic foot box. Could use 1 box for the test and make a adapter to fit the 10. I think it would be as close as you can get then

    • @bubbawubba2307
      @bubbawubba2307 11 місяців тому

      not really. Put the 12 in a bigger box and see the comparison. Reason why they make different sub sizes is because of size constraints of vehicles. To me the better comparison would be if you have 10 cuft to build a box how loud can you make that space. Can you get louder on 10-10's? or 5-12's? 3-15's or 2-18's? I'd say the 10's would win out. That is if you had an unlimited budget for amps, alts, batteries etc. which all take up room as well.

    • @MotoAtheist
      @MotoAtheist 11 місяців тому

      @@bubbawubba2307 10's need about 1.25cf with ported, so you are few too many there, try 8 10's instead. 8 10's = 628 cone area. Should be able to fit 6 12's=678 cone area. 4 15s=706 Cone area. CF for 18's are all over the place so 2 is probably a good compromise, only getting 508 cone area. In your 10cf scenario, 4-15's win out. If an 18 can be found that only needs 3.3cf, you could do 3 at 763 cone area and the 18's win out.

      Smaller subs need to move further in and out to create the same freq. versus larger subs. The more a subwoofer moves, the more distortion it can add. When it comes to bass, smaller subs will always be less quality when it comes to bass. However, the level of tech these days makes these differences far less noticeable. Bass is already less prone to distortion in the first place, hence why people will often push a little beyond clipping on occasion. That's why smaller subs still sound good enough to get the job done. But they will never out do the larger subs sound quality wise all else being equal.

    Hi Parker, can you do a 2x 6.5" subs vs 12"?🎉

      Why? The 6.5's will be dominated, no test necessary.

    I've been checking out the Resilient Sounds 10's, V2. Gonna go with 4 of them in my semi. Me personally, i just like 10''s, there punchy, dont take up much room. I've had 12, 15, etc. But i always come back to the 10-inch subs.

      @joshholden8561 and see, I was actually looking at the Skar line, too. I'm just at a crossroads. My other issue is that I like sealed boxes better. Because I listen to mostly metal, reggae music, old school rap. Not this new crap, lol. I just find that sealed works better for me. I know Resilient can't go seal, and also Skar, I believe. But those brands from what I've seen and read about are my top picks. I have more then enough room for 4 to 8 of any sub I want to push.

    I have a single 10 in a cadillac xts vsport. Very big trunk. And that 10 is loud crispy and deep. I have a level 3 12 in my toyota and it digs deeper and shakes more I have a t1500 bdcp on the 12 and a damore engineering e700 on the 10. Both are pretty dang great. O went small and less power in caddy cause o don't want it sounding like a tin can rolling down the street like my toyota 😂
