OMG, Thank You! 1978 is one of the few Super Bowls that I have yet to find any ads from online. I believe 1967, 1968, 1970, 1974, and 1977 are the only ones left that have yet to have surfaced online.
My parents were in a Marine Corps commercial that apparently aired in San Diego during this Super Bowl. I am looking for this commercial because my parents have never seen it!
Nice time capsule there! My local CBS station was in Huntsville, but sometimes if we turned the antenna we could get this station. Would love to see old full tv progams or football games with the commericals included if you have them.
That logo looks funky, even for 70s standards and the decade was (DISCLAIMER: he following words are an understatement) funky funky 😂 Joking aside though, awesome video as always!
26:02 "The South shall rise aga-" Ford Fairmont -"The hell you will!" 🤭 Chicago, Denver and Albuquerque - "We...didn't do anything. Why, dude?" Ford Fairmont - "Des Moines knows what they did. 😒"

Jeffrey Tambor in the Avis ad also went on to play Hank "Hey Now" Kingsley on The Larry Sanders Show

Ad time was a lot cheaper back then. Now for a 30 second ad in today's Super bowl cost millions!
35 minutes of commercials during a Super Bowl.....we now get that many by mid second Quarter!
It is The Birmingham Market's oldest UHF Station.Launched on 10/17/1965.
4:38 is Avis, not Hertz.
Corrected. Thanks!
Could that have been Jeffrey Tambor running in that Avis ad?
@@luisreyes1963 That is indeed Jeffrey Tambor

9:50 Jake Holmes was one of the all-time great jingle singers.
The station i.d. is very similar to WSBT-22.
Now WIAT since 1/30/1998.
I suspect that boss in the Wang Computer commercial became the Dunkin' Donuts guy. 🍩
Also, there's James Coburn for Schlitz Light Beer. 🍺
