I have one of those Blackbird chairs with Virple flight gear . Good gear but not cheap and the shipping bites some . Good to hear they are planning on doing shipping like Virple out of US . CM3 base is coming Monday , centered mounted 😊with the 200 mm extended arm , replacing the Warbird one I am using now. Thanks for all the nice vids .
@@NOOBIFIER1337 I have the chair version, if I decided to upgrade to a pit, can I use the chair for the simrig? Or are they different chairs altogether? Thanks!
Love it… I’ve rigged mounts to my Poäng chair… soo comfy, but looking back to my six in VR takes effort so I had to put a pillow behind me to give that shoulder space…. This monster tech chair is the dream :)
If it's like their (identical looking) chair on wheels, there's a problem where one of the controls cannot be worked when the left-hand metal mount is attached. They said they are aware of that limitation. I also find it tends to create "hot spots" (areas where pressure is concentrated) during long play. I don't know if this is shape or an issue with the foam used. Personally, it's not a preferred back shape. If you have the arm rests, they are wobbly. There's also no cable management (which is a pain when the cables are on a moving chair, but might be less of an issue for a fixed sim chair.
Would love to put this in my Ubutto R3volution - it was a great setup but the chair is terrible and it the rig not so flexible as compared to the amazing work Monstertech has done. Next year I would love to get this chair and mod out the ubutto base with rails and then add on some Monstertech upgrades
I put a pillow on my back rest to improve the comfort and get away from those side bolsters on the obutto, the mt chair looks awesome tho. Unfortunately I just had to replace my hosas so I don’t think I’ll be getting one anytime soon
I sent them a message last week and they emailed me the bolt pattern. From what I can see it should work, BUT you will sit up 3 inches higher. That may make some of the obutto mounts to low. Frankly the only one I'm really concerned with this the keyboard tray. I'll do some measurements when I get home tonight. I don't want another car based chair, I don't sim race. The side bolsters are a pita with my winwing Super Taurus.
+BrianMP5T *Thanks for the preview of a pilot seat that is a Universal Simpit candidate.* The MONSTERTECH® MPS1 can be adjusted to emulate stock ejection seats of numerous fixed- and rotary-wing combat aircraft. The VIRPIL® Controls MongoosT-50CM2® gimbal can be mounted halfway to the floor on centerline for better controllability via a 200mm extension; don't know which yaw/brake sets are compatible with the Monstertech rail system. For a generic Carrier Jet, I'd mount _two_ Control Panels #2 in angled fashion and modify the right one for a "hook" knob; a Control Panel #1 low on the right, and a MongoosT-50CM3® engine quadrant low on the left. For a generic Helicopter, one Control Panel #2 angled on the left, one Control Panel #1 angled on the right, and the Rotor TCS Plus™ at the left seat mount with the SharKa-50® (which emulates dual gas-turbine Condition inputs and the rotor governor speed input) on the optional outrigger. For Eagle Dynamics DCS: Black Shark, I'd want the MongoosT-50CM2® grip (which has the dual index triggers consistent with the actual cyclic grip on the Kamov-50/52) on the cyclic and the SharKa-50® grip on the collective arm. The WarBRD™ yaw bar would be the differential rotor-pitch input, provided that it can mount on the Monstertech centerline rail.
I have been looking at a Track Racer TR160 aluminum profile rig for sim racing but I have been wondering how I can also use it for flight. I think this chair is the answer. The only thing I would have to swap would be the pedals.
One of the nice things about the center cutout is that it is less likely to catch things, especially food. This helps keep the seat clean and yet provides enough leg support to be comfortable. The only issue I have with my MonsterTech chair is the wheel casters don’t snap into the base. So if you pick up the chair they just fall right out. Other than that it is well worth the money.
THanks for the review. I've already got one on order and am looking forward to it arriving. from your time with it, do you think it possible to mount a chair arm to a piece of T-Slot along with the joystick mount etc? I want to build a rig with side entry which will mean having one side be a swinging arm that can pivot open to get out and close when you get in the chair (hope that makes sense).
Anything is possible but you would need to figure out how to put a bunch of swinging parts in a very small place. I’m pretty sure you would be able to get in easily even if the arms were attached.
I will have a leg rest integrated at the front of the seat (I'll have one custom upholstered to match) as I will require it for my postural needs; entire chair will be tilted back slightly to manage my spinal injuries. I'll keep sketching designs for now :)
I was wondering how the lumbar support works in this chair without the vertical adjustment of the MFC. Is it as comfortable? I tried to ask you in the Discord chat, but my question seems to have disappeared...
I could only see that happening if you produced an intermediate plate to screw into the chair or to interface instead of the hydraulic lift and star base.

This one although it has the ability to be modular apart from that , it looks to favour styling over comfort.
