The more of your videos I watch Heidi the more amazed I become at all, that you do. You are one absolutely, incredible, amazing lady. I take my hat off to you. Please, remember to unwind, relax and take care of YOU.. & the same goes for Patrick. May God bless and protect you & yours always 😁🙏🏼
You’re such a wealth of inspiration and knowledge. I am shocked you don’t have millions of subscribers. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you for taking the time to share your skills with us. Bless you
I absolutely love your channel! I've been a subscriber for a while now. This is a lost art. It's time to get more self sufficient! Thank you so much for sharing all your valuable information.
Hi Heidi, just watched your wine making and ferment starter videos...very interesting, going to give it a try. Also, going to make some extracts and tinctures, thanks for the tips on spiced rum and wine. Can't wait to get the garden started...Homegrown is GREAT...GOD is GOOD ALL the time!!!
So glad the latest extracts are already smelling and tasting awesome. I do my own nut milks too! They are so easy and so much better. I love the videos on the vinegars. My Orange Clove Vinegar came out fantastic and smells so awesome. Thank you Heidi! Next time I make an order I will try some of your skin cream. Great informative video thanks for sharing. God bless you and Patrick!
Heidi, I continue to LOVE your videos. They are pack full of beneficial information. I finally got brave enough to make a batch of apple cider vinegar and added few raisins. I started it 4 days ago and it has developed an off white (with a yellow hue) skim on the top. Is this what is referred to as the "mother?" I recently learned that a bundle of pine needles, with a diameter similar to a quarter, has as much vitamin C as 6 oranges. Here in Massachusetts, we are surrounded with Pine trees so every morning for the past month I've been harvesting enough for the day, infusing it and using the water for everything. It has no flavor, so I add spices or herbs. Spruce also has a lot of health benefits. I realize you wouldn't mention this because so few people are fortunate enough to live with forest in their back yard like me. Thank you and God Bless you dear lady!
lol she's one of the few youtubers i feel dont talk soooo slow, usually i have to speed up videos lol. Plus she said she wanted to get out to the garden ;) lol
At the 13:57 point in this video, you show something that is made with blue jean pockets & flannel. It’s very pretty! I would like to know what that is & how you made it. Thank you for sharing all your wisdom.
That is a denim and flannel rag style quilt that I made. One of my very favorites of all my quilts. I currently do not have a video out yet on how to make one, but may do one some day
Thank you! I love anything with denim & flannel, just my style. I know that has to be beautiful. I’ve been saving all our old jeans & flannel shirts hoping to one day find something useful & easy to make with them.
Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. I am getting started homesteading and there is soooo much information to learn. Thank you for your channel and sharing that knowledge with us :) Sending bug Hug and God Bless.
im keen to try and make laundry soap from ivy and horsechesnuts lol probably as a vinegar extract to keep it from molding. the pure soap bars in germany are no longer made with tallow but with palm oil. i think il just have to start making my own soap from woodash !
Heidi, I've heard that using homemade laundry detergent can be very bad for newer washing machines - a s in they'll break catastrophically. Have you had any issues?
Nope. But mine is not really a "newer" machine but it is an He. My machine is about 18 years old and have been using homemade laundry detergent for around 6 years
I have not made sourdough in years though I used to make it from my own created starter. But no video out, sorry. I do have a video showing how I make bread from the fermentation starter, it ends up being similar to sourdough but with a more mild flavor
im jealous of your hand wash setup! ive got two bathtubs and a propane heater just waiting for a spot in the barn to be renovated.... if you use you homemade laundry soap, and then rinse with a bit of vinegar, is it safe to water the garden with ... assuming your not watering salad or something your about to harvest?
Yes, it is safe, as long as the soap is natural and the vinegar is so watered down it would not do any damage. I have used the water on my gardens before
The common misconception is that all the alcohol will cook out in this method, which is untrue. Some will yes, but not all. However, when talking about a medicinal tincture or an extract used in food, the amount of alcohol would be so small, especially if combined with food, that it would be totally safe.

Rain Country that’s great to hear. I’ve been scared to use homemade detergent since hearing the horror stories. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
I want to make some vinegar for sure... do you have a video on how you use your sourdough?

Hi Heidi👋What do you think about Bean Flour ?
I have personally never used it, though I would wonder if the flavor would be very "beany"

Hi! Would you consider doing an extract of a non alcoholic version with elderberry?
Yes, you can do that, elderberry extracts very well so it would do well in a non alcoholic version :)
Put alcohol extract tincture in hot water let cool fine for children. Daniel Gagdon herbalist says like a ripe banana. Fine for children

This is good for NOW! We don't have live like a cavewomen when things get tough.
