Just picked this up last week. Took no time to assemble it out of the box, mix in and started first pull. Used Echo in the past followed by several cheap Chinese headaches and spent the dough to get that Echo quality again. Feels very comfortable and balanced, the soft grip is good and the line feed is really well designed, every other trimmer has been frustrating but this is fantastic. Inquiring about the blade accessory which is not included. Good 5 year warranty. Very happy with this purchase.
Bought one today on the strength of this video. Everything I expected, very good little machine, very easy to handle, very easy to start. Hope it lasts.
Glad you like it! Mine has now been with me for 6 years and still started first time after coming out of winter hibernation a month ago. Couldn't be happier.
Cold start refers to the engine being cold not the ambient temp. Mine always needs to be primed and choked. Never started first time. It is easy to pull though, which easy start refers to. One thing is the bump head releases line way too easily and accidently. Apart from that it's decent for a home owner or light commercial use.
Still happy with your trimmer after having 2/3 years? I’m looking at the 3020 with bike handles, I’ve got a local supplier, considering waiting for the one day offer to come up!
I just bought one of these last week. I'm a contractor and have recently hurt my back so wanted a lighter machine so I can at least do some work! I'm really impressed with it too, it seems really decent for the money and has enough power for light work. One little tip - the side bar on your handle is on the wrong side. It's supposed to come across in front of you so if you hit something hard when using a blade the bar will hit your hip and stop the machine from kicking back and potentially cutting you.
Hi I have just bought an SAM 222 es trimmer here in Australia, I would like to add a blade but it is impossible to find an adapter here ... also impossible to find the sliding part of the shield for the blade conversion ... would you have any ideas on where to find these parts? Thanks an great videos
Ive had this one for either 7 or 8 years🤔 And not had any issues or even a puff of blue smoke yet. Ive had a couple of cheap 2 stroke strimmers previously and neither lasted more than 3 full seasons. In fairness i dont mix my own fuel with the echo. I only use Aspen 2 stroke fuel which might be a significant component of my very good ownership experience so far.
I have a Honda UMC425, so same gx25 engine. I find that the Honda is heavier and has a slower oscillation due to the revs. The 4 strokes don’t rev the same. I find the 2 stroke sthils or echos have higher revs and run with less wobble, yielding a more consistent cut, especially when edging. So going to buy me one of these
Nice video. Ive had the older SRM-22GES for about 6 or 7 years now, awesome little machines, about to upgrade to a bigger ECHO. have you tried running 2mm line in it? I find even 2.4mm line is too heavy for it and it struggles with the extra weight especially in thick grass. 2mm is perfect for it.
Just got back from the shops with one. Can't wait to give it a run on the front lawn.

Hi✋

Thanks for the warning. Great review
Thaks👍

Hope you enjoy it! thanks for the tip off. I will go have a look at it👍
I always wondered what that bit was for.

How long do these engines last if serviced and looked after?

Dzień dobry 🙂🖐czy kosił Pan tym trymerem większą trawę? Pozdrawiam
Hi pal where did you buy harness
Hi Gordon. Thanks for watching. It came with the Echo. I assume its a standard inclusion rather than something my particular dealer included.
👍
For tall grass?
Works really well on tall grass, short weeds and on its side for edging
@@ToTheGarage thank u, there is the 236tesl but I can't find a review, great little machine with high torque.
Echo 225 easy load strimmer head way way easy to load and use ...I'd recommend 2mm twist strimmer line it cuts like a razor...
I need some new line Geema's World so will try some twist👍
What size line does this take?
I have fitted all sorts up to 3mm
Anyone know how this compares to the Honda UMK425 in terms of power?

I have an SRM-2010 from 1989
still running well?
@@ToTheGarage Runs as well as it left the factory
John...are u growing a moustache there mate ?
No just charging my razor🤣👨🦰.

I actually find the square section lines you can get now, are really good. they are effectively 'sharper'
The manual says it can take 3mm. Too much?
@@kitwalker2968 yeah, way too much.
They probably mean the head can take 3mm.
Even my husky 535 doesnt love 3mm.
SRM 222 es is what I meant
I bought one last week, used it on the weekend and very happy with it. Pretty sure it's made in China like most things (not Japan built)
Echo tools have been made in Japan for over 50 years
@@RIO263 It says on the label assembled in china from Japan parts.
