    This video is so amazing, and such an inspiring story! I’m an editor for The Dodo - we’re a digital brand for everyone who loves animals. Our editors wanted to prepare a video news piece on this clip to run on our platforms - and were hoping you would give us permission to use your footage. Please get in touch if you have any objections or questions - you can contact me directly at dodovideo[at]thedodo[dot]com. Thanks! - Mark

    There is an aquifer in eastern Kenya from the coast to Nairobi that is under the Tsavo National Park. A few well throughout the park could provide permanent water points and beneficiate wildlife and people too. That would be a much better way than the actual transport of water.

    It's nice, and I hope that the donations actually go to help animals.
    However, let's be honest. A tanker (even that size) does not mean that much when it is reputed to be only once a week. It helps, but no way does it make up for most of the evaporation from the sun with supposed lack of water to fill the pond. Which brings up the question: how does a pond with a horrendous drought avoid drying out with only a tanker a week of water (not enough for the visible animals for a week much less account for dehydration and ground saturation)? Propaganda to generate government or personal cash flow?

    • @mwendapoleee
      @mwendapoleee 6 років тому +4

      Tae Kim maybe you should volunteer and then tell us exactly how many times he has to refill the waterholes! In one clip he says a times he has to do more trips depending on the dryness, animals and wateva conditions out there!

    • @taekim6819
      @taekim6819 6 років тому

      Dude. Seriously?
      Evaporation would take more than the volume of a single truck in a week's time. You can't argue that with African temperature, arid climate, and a drought. We talking about a location that depends on this water hole due to the others being dried out in drought.
      You see the number of animals?
      How much gallons do you think a single elephant drinks in a week?
      How much do you think a single buffalo drinks?
      How many displaced animals (drought) visit the watering hole (animals do not just stay at water holes which can be a hot bed of predators)?
      With a supposed drought (lack of rain water) and only a truck adding limited water once (maybe a little more) a week just does not cut it.
      P.S.
      The Kenyans (local and national) probably have a good incentive to keep their wild life in good condition. The tourists and their foreign money can be important, especially locally. The government and animal reserves/sanctuaries do not seem to be devoting enough resources for the their cash cow. The millions that the animals must generate each year, they will allocate ONLY A SINGLE TRUCK to water this particular water hole during a drought. Wow.

    • @mwendapoleee
      @mwendapoleee 6 років тому +1

      The point here is somebody doing something! Not arguing who should do what okay! ?

      What can I do ?
      You ...tell me , because I don't know.

    • @taekim6819

      Another point -
      Out of all the terrestrial animals in Africa, elephants would be least endangered by the drought.
      Elephants pass down information about water locations (where water exists even during drought; sometimes slightly buried).
      Matriarch guides the family to the locations generally.
      Elephants have great ability to detect water.
