"A soul has a purpose. The most painful thing for a soul, is to be unable to perform."
    I felt that, deeply.
Without giving a whole life story, this quote sums up the pain felt by those with infertility, primary or secondary.
    Bless you, Rabbi.

I am blessed to listen to Rabbi Friedman. When I was very young we had the most awesome Rabbi. After his death, we had a Rabbi that I just could not stop listening to. Now that I am older, I listen to Rabbi Friedman. I am blessed because the two rabbis while I was growing up and began married life taught the same subjects and were so open to allowing us to enhance our understanding just as Rabbi Friedman is. Thank you, Rabbi Friedman. I am so blessed by the topics of these meetings and I feel joy and balance.

@@dallasisraelites4241 the context of the word "chosen" is misunderstood.. Jews have gone through persecution longer than any other group. But through suffering the Jews have become the most resilient and influential Ethno-Religious group ever. That doesn't make them special, they are just chosen for a job.
Who's to say God doesn't have a different perception? Maybe God perceives all of mankind as chosen, but tells the Jews they are chosen because of the millenias of persecution. And perhaps they are repaid by God.

I want to share about my near-death-experience together with my deceased daughter. It's a NDE story about the way our lives are judged and measured and analyzed by ETERNITY. It's about the strength of forgiveness that can change everything for the better, even on the other side. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is looking for a PROOF OF ETERNITY, and that's the title of my book PROOF OF ETERNITY by Alba Monn. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is mourning about the loss of a loved one, especially for parents who have lost their own children. I came to testify that ETERNITY is a fact, that our loved ones live on on the other side, that they want for us to be comforted and completely consoled by the truth, because the truth will set you free.
Blessings to everyone who reads this!

But the Rabbi is focusing on the righteous because he knows it is not his place to judge or decide who the unrighteous are. We humans do not know who may or may not repent in due time. Only G-d knows that. Only G-d knows who will go to eternal damnation. This Rabbi knows the book of Daniel you can be sure. To explain the Resurrection any other way would make people fear they may not be doing enough to be considered righteous. Life is much more complex than that, faith and trust and learning who G-d is comes first. Recognizing when we need to repent and receive G-d's loving mercy and forgiveness and loving G-d back is what we need to focus on, for ourself. Hoping and praying for others is important, but we leave the out come to G-d. Yes, we see evil being done in the world and we are promised the evil will be dealt with and tho we hate the evil actions that hurt so many people, we fear for the people doing them and pray for them. Only G-d has the authority to condemn a soul He created.

Didn’t Hashem speak to 12 tribes 3000 years ago. The name Jew refers to Judah, the 4 son of Jacob. Now I know we are told that all Hebrews are represented in Judah but that’s not the only places Hebrews are found. The entire Western nations are the Hebrews all built on the foundation of the Bible. The other tribes lost their Hebrew language and today it’s Judah that holds the sceptre and the Torah, thanks to Almighty Creator.

Fascinating perspective about the earthy smelling soul going through Hell untill the smell burns off around 17:00. Coming from a Catholic background that's very much like the Church's teaching about purgatory. The souls in purgatory are destined for Heaven, not Hell, but still have attachments to sin. They need to go through a purification which is described as a consuming fire. It's fascinating because purgatory is not a teaching of other Christian denominations. The reason given by the apologists is that the foundation for the teaching is in writings, 2nd Maccabees in particular, that are not included in the Protestant cannon but which Catholics and Jews share in their Bibles.

@@jamessilver6429 You're right. That was an assumption I made out of ignorance. I figured since Maccabees also contained the story that is the basis of Chanukah, it surely must be canon. I understand now that it's apocryphal in Judaism.

The question of wether there is life after death makes perfect sense. It basically asks if you as a soul will keep on living and yes you will. That’s what people want to know. God breathed in man the breath of life to give life to the soul in the body. Thus the life and soul are infused as one apart from the body after death. The question makes perfect sense.

In my understanding of Quran, when the soul releases from the body (when someone dies) then he will continues live but with 3 different ways. First, going back to the place near heaven and get rewarded with happy and good life. Second, going to the place where he stays there with sad & regret feeling because of what he had done in his life until judgement day; and Third, going to a place where he neither happy or sad feeling, sleep there until judgement day.

“Does having greater liberty or freedom curtail your physical existence? No. That’s a cynical remark that assumes if given the freedom, you’ll make a selfish or destructive choice. Actually, accumulating wealth gives you the freedom and resources to enhance your physical existence as well as elevate your soul, by helping others and fulfilling your life's purpose on Earth. i.e. making this planet a haven of love, laughter, and learning.

I’m a non-Jew who enjoys Rabbi Friedman’s lectures and I’ve been studying Judaism purely out of self interest. A big question I have is understanding the difference between reincarnation vs resurrection.
It seems most Jews (including Friedman) believe in both. If our souls reincarnate and have many lives, which body resurrects at “end of days” (aharit hayamim)?? The body from the last life? First? Best?
How does the resurrection occur? A cataclysmic flash and appears? Or a rebirth like normal?
What age is our body? Young? Old?
What’s the big difference between being reincarnated vs resurrected? The resurrection details still seem rather vague. Again, I’m just curious and would like to know what most Jews generally think!

    The Fifth Seal: The Martyrs
8Then I looked and saw a pale horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth. 9And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld. 10And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge those who live on the earth and avenge our blood?”…Revelation 6:9

Emotion comes as a result of how we think , so basically it is a brain fart. But we feel it and it seams to be real, even if it is not. We also have feelings, that express our human needs and those are real and worth to pay attention and have awareness about.
There is nothing sacred (technically untouchable), that people couldn't screw up. But, if we choose to keep some things sacred like family, friendships ... then we will have the way we keep it.

The “soul” is best described as an ecosystem. I think people conflate the word “soul” with the word “spirit.” They’re two very different things. Our BODY is a soul because it’s the combination of mundane matter and spiritual matter.

So I interpret this, as we get older we get more decayed because our soul struggles with the beauty of holiness. And on our journey on this earth we just pick up whether we want to or not the decay. Probably one of the best ways to keep our soul and more perfection is to say the morning and evening prayers. And to keep our mind on HaShem is to try to say are hundred blessings every day. It’s a way of keeping our soul from becoming tainted by this earthly realm. I really do appreciate these thoughts. For the sake of argument, who made Satan to do the dirty work? Because if you say he was an angel, Angels do not make mistakes because they dont have feelings and dont have a free will to do whatever they want. Satan on the hand was created from the hell fire and serving like an angel until human being created.
