    Funny! I bought a set off EBay a year ago and had the same issue of the mounting bracket being to far out and the peg was way off the shift levers. Glad to see I wasn't crazy for putting the stock pegs back on!

    You saved me made me realize that the actual footpeg comes apart from the brace because I recently crashed and don't have a driver side foot pedal so I thought I was going to have to spend fifty bucks to get a new one but I just saw that you can take the foot part out of the back and swap it for the front so thanks

    I know this is old but I put these on my fz09 and had the same issues. I found this video when I searched to see if anyone else had this problem. Glad I’m not just being a sissy about it lol

      No you're right! :) They are simply uncomfortable. A seemingly good idea though! Just doesnt work out.

    I got very excited when I see those pegs. But I totally understand what you’re saying, and why they are not the best option. I guess that’s why they sell complete rear sets, for the better alignment and comfort. Thought I was going to save a little money there, but looks like I have to buy the whole thing.

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  4 роки тому

      Definitely! An entire rearset is the way to go. I ended up staying with factory pegs when I learned the rear sets I was looking at did not adjust downward. Let me know if you find something good! Thanks for your feedback!

      Me too 😎 I am planning to invest in a better seat that doesn’t compress after 20 mins. That will give my knees the comfort I need 👍

    I had the very same issue with a set I bought from eBay for a Gixxer 750, pigeon toed shifting and braking was very uncomfortable and dangerous due to the delay trying to find the controls.

      @@sstressfl I think they just need to make the bracket thinner, maybe make the bracket of titanium so it's more robust.

    Hey I just switched over to GSXR foot pegs because I couldn't stand the rubber foot pegs. Plus the rubber foot pegs (to me) is what differentiates the GSXS from being a standard bike and a sportbike. I got mine from Ebay in gloss black for under $20 for the front and rear of the bike. Turns out our bikes can use a ton of parts from Gsxr's.

    Thanks for the honest opinion on not wanting to leave that adjustable pay on and I do think you are right regarding that your foot has to bend inwards to get to the shifter. Not good.

  • @petervaughan4591
    @petervaughan4591 5 років тому

    As a thought you could put a slight bend in the gear shifter and this would bring the shifter out and back and make everything in line with your foot position.

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  5 років тому

      peter vaughan even so, it would not be comfortable. Take the shifter alignment out of it and it’s all wrong. It looks good on paper... but It’s not a solution :/

    Nice video. Did you find any working solution afterwards?

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  4 роки тому +1

      I know the real problem now. I changed my focus to the seat. I realized that the oem seat collapses after 30 mins of riding and I lose 2-3” of rise which compresses my knees more. I contacted a local custom seat maker and he is going to rebuild the padding so it is comfortable but doesn’t lose it’s shape. It’s there I just need to spend about $300 and I haven’t yet. But a new seat is the solution 👍

    Its great to hear and see if these pegs work, the only thing in my mind is pengali quick shifter that push button thats rest near ones clutch lever, but what would be dangerous is when turning corners come up.anyone wants comfort, one need to buy a bike like it. But thanks for the upload

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  4 роки тому

      Lower the pegs or raise the seat. These pegs are all wrong. But what I have learned is that the seat on this bike collapses after 45 mins of riding which is enough to compress the knees by an inch or more. Custom seat is coming, one that provides more support and does not collapse 👍

  • @YSPDJapan
    @YSPDJapan 6 років тому

    It seems like all you had to do was loosen the shift bolt and move the shift lever a bit to account for the lower height.
    I did that with the stock to make it easier to shift while keeping the 1N23456 shift pattern.
    It seems like this may be good for riders looking for more leg room on long rides but the gap could be an issue

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  6 років тому

      I did that. The levers were still too inboard. The pegs push the feet out too far.

    why not just get a longer shift peg which will extend it putting it back in line with your foot. wouldnt that solve all your issues then?

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  5 років тому

      I addressed that in the video. Definitely can extend the shifter and brake lever. But it still would not fix that these pegs kill alignment, comfort and valuable foot real estate.

    Bend out the gear selector and the brake about 5 to 7 degrees and it should work

    • @sstressfl
      @sstressfl  4 роки тому

      I was ready to do that to fix the alignment. But that wouldn't fix the fact that the peg is too narrow. There isn't enough room for your foot and it spreads your legs further apart. On paper it looks like a great idea. But in practice its a terrible solution for this application.

      @mariantamas9606 it’s definitely a smaller bike but I do 300 mile day rides on it with no problem. I have to stop and stretch it out once in awhile but no more than any other motorcycle. I have always wanted to get a custom seat ($300-400). The stock seat collapses after 30-45 mins and no longer provides proper support/padding. My only complaint :)
