    Apologies for my relative quietness on UA-cam, I have been crazy busy with work and a few other life things, some of which might be very exciting!! :)
    Have you ever used these footpegs? Do they work well on other bikes?

    Cheers chap, I was about to buy some of these for my CBF500, but your comments made me go and have a look before pressing the button. Same brake pedal set up, so that'll be the same, and a size 12 boot with a slightly knackered hip, so twisting my foot to hit the pedal will be a PITA, Saved me £50, thanks fella. Stay safe.

      Yeah if they managed to make that shoulder slimmer I think they'd be on to a winner big time. I'd also make the peg a little less aggressive grip wise myself.

    Puig screen, fitted to my Honda SH scoot. Fitted easily enough, all tightened up and at roughly 50 mph it started folding back towards me. Tried various times tightening it all up and got it a bit better, then on a longer trip it just collapsed and I had to ride it home with the screen virtually in my lap. Eventually drilled two holes in the bottom corners and ran good old cable ties around the handle bars. Now it's solid as a rock and looks cheap and nasty.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому +1

      Oh that's surprising and a pity, Puig have such a good name. It's one of those things that I sometimes feel manufacturers put less effort in to certain products, like that one, and don't see any reprecussions as it's "just" a scooter. Annoys me. Hey if it works!! Good fix :)

      @@TheGorillaBiker Unfortunately in my experience most after market items are not as good as I expect. I'm to the point now that unless the original part is really badly in need of replacement (either worn or giving a bad riding experience) and the original parts aren't available, I don't change it. Probably the only parts I have consistently swapped are tyres and brake pads :) I'm guessing you've had less problems or are better at working around any issues that have cropped up on your bikes.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому +1

      I have to say most places I've bought from are very good, but I'm very picky, like my go tos are HEL, which are amazing, EBC of course, but for most engine seals and brakes etc I generally go OEM...it's just easier! Working around problems is fine, like with my old SHAD topbox, but I wouldn't repeat buy from a company that has poor design/manufacture. Tyres and brakes pads tho eh, glad to hear you're swapping them :D

      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому

      Just that's shoulder blob makes them very uncomfortable for me, could never let my foot "fall" in to a natural resting position.
      Nope. Didn't get any extra vibes tbh really, but I do have fairly thick soles in my boots.

  • @HippoDrones
    @HippoDrones 2 роки тому +1

    Ahh that is a real shame, they look awesome quality all the same. Have you thought about getting the seat made more chunky to lift you up higher rather than making your feet lower?
    I think the main waste of money I've had was with an actual motorcycle, I just didn't get on with the ergonomics of it at all, I thought throwing money at it would help, so I got fancy racing rearsets, different seat, tried adjusting the bars.... but in the end I got rid of the bike at a massive loss. That was the Ducati 1098 Streetfighter S.

      Ah it's ok, I knew I was taking a chance on them :) That's testing for you eh :D I have, but price and the change of body position is unappealing to me, I feel like I'd be leaning more forward then if that makes sense :)
      Ah yes you've told me that story....some bikes just don't fit us eh, it's sad but true :( Like I'd imagine there's no real way for you to fix the reach to the bar on the Falco either, a pity it's not one size fits all.

    Hi there GB well I bought a set of K&N filters for my old Z650 FOUR years ago and it ran like a bag of crap just bogged down , it probably needed jetting and stuff but at that time I was not so into that side of things and I thought they would be fine : D .Interesting point you make there on those pegs lookin at them I would think that it would be an issue on any bike as they are gonna throw out the alignment of any break and gear lever for the riders foot . Good one : )

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому +1

      Oh yeah most likely needed a nice chunk bigger jets, always the problem with performance mods on carbs eh!
      Yeah for sure, unless you had a longer foot peg bit on the levers themselves, it's why I wanted to make the video as I'd never heard anyone mention it before about them. Really sad I had to take them off tbh!

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider 2 роки тому +1

      Usually just a little adjustment of the F/A screws will fix that, larger jets are not always needed, only worth fitting if you are screwing out the adjustment too many turns to get the fuel needed, 3.5-4 turns max. Many people moaned about this when fitting them on ZX9r's, the same when fitting an ignition advancer, they said "it ran like crap so I put it back to stock".
      All they had to do was adjust the mixture a little/shim the main jet needles or even as simple as making sure they are using premium fuel. I'm on stock jets with a K&N filter Delkevic can and link pipe, and a +4 ignition advancer and was running fine, but did recently shim my carbs and a couple of other mods to improve air flow a little more too.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому

      It is indeed. As in complete rear sets? I have them on the gsxr and wouldn't go for them on the CBF I don't think. The CBF isn't bad enough to shell out too much. It's really fine as is but I wanted to get that extra 5% 😂

  • @liamflattery677
    @liamflattery677 2 роки тому +1

    Well how's things? Also own cbf and have comfort issues with being a little cramped, have seen those pegs and it's good to know they fit, kinda, just a thought, would you extend brake lever half inch or so to meet your foot?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому

      Yeah they're just that smidge cramped, that said I've done big mileage on it and it's grand really once you take breaks imo.
      No, as that'd mean I'd have to have the footpeg at the same level as stock, there just isn't enough adjustment in the brake pedal. Basically far more effort than it's worth to make the footpegs work, I think the shoulder on them would make them uncomfortable no matter what.

    • @liamflattery677

  • @ChopperFett

    Stinks they didn’t work out for you but the video I don’t think slights CNCMoto at all. I’m sure there are man applications this would work on. Would a different brake lever in conjunction be the ticket? Sorry if you said that multitasking today hahaha.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 роки тому +1

      Ah yeah that's good. I wanted it to come across as possibly they need to look at their design rather, the product is very well made and I'd happily pay for it if it worked.
      Ya see that'd put me off. Changing pegs is fine but if I also need to change another component to make it work it's not worth it for me. I'd just try find an all in one solution, or design and make one myself :)
