I witnessed that tonight at a show tonight in holyoke MA and was blown away! His band is tight, and all of them don't miss a beat! Great stuff, and it was a pleasure to attend tonight in a small club type venue(500 ppl at sold out capacity)
Charley Crockett tore the roof off the Joy Theater (New Orleans) last night!!! This song was AY-MAY-ZING!!! Absolutely love how seamlessly he blends country and jazz!
Texan 1st, American 2nd!! Hell yeah Brother! That stinky Trinity River and Deep Ellum, gotta love it. Man, the 90's in Deep Ellum was a hell of a good time.
Aw shit, when he strapped on the Danelectro U@ 96/56, which I have in blue since 1998...and he has a trumpet in his band, just keep liking what this man does...
This is one of my favorite Charley Crockett songs. Just went to iTunes and purchased it. HORRIBLE! Sounds like it was recorded in a rented garage on equipment recently acquired from a pawn shop. Charley needs to offer another rendition. The one in the video above is superb. I heard Charley last night live and he and his band played this song terrifically.
@@trip4923 Sorry, Even Charley said in an interview that he didn’t like the original recording. He said his band has “evolved and improved their technique on this song.” “It would have been an even bigger hit if they would have recorded the later version.” Charley’s own words.
Ya’ll can now rejoice. Charley re-recorded and re-released it on his new album The Man From Waco and it sounds INCREDIBLE. The heartbeat of the song is finally back in the recording.
My song I grew up there on the weekends camping with my mom and her friend and her kids and Mom's kids my dad stayed home he was a weekend drunk he didn't go with us rest in Peace Dad love you rest in peace mom love you thanks for taking me camping mom I cherish those days
It does need re-recorded. A terrific song in every way. Heard Charley sing it live several times, superb. However this song on the CD sounds like it was recorded in a garage on rented equipment.
BRUH. IT'S LIKE EARLY 70'S FLAMBOYANT MILES DAVIS TURNED WHITE AND STARTED WRITING SONGS OF THE SOUTH. WAIT. JUST GOOGLED MORE ABOUT HIM AND FOUND OUT HE'S BLACK, CAJUN, CREOLE AND JEWISH. HOTDAMN HELL YEAH.
He's right...they did keep getting better live. Now he'd done at Ryman..wow..hold on. What a band and Charley is thee best. I like country ok, but I don't think he's country...he's Charley, class all to himself. And a really good guy
Fire that band immediately. Drummer dragging and inconsistent, trumpet flat and sloppy, guitar solo lackluster. Charlie is pretty dope but the band was cringe here.
the dude's playing trumpet and organ at the same time!
Exactly
I just want to know the sheet music for the trumpet part

The Magic Man Cullen Fox smooth as butter.
Charley never misses. How can anyone not like him?
I am more and more convinced he's the coolest dude to ever done .be
He’s so cool it seems phony.
I'm from Dallas so anytime I hear the words Trinity River my heart goes thump. Great tune!
Alligator Gar!
River Legacy. If you know you know
Nice. The trumpet really puts this song over the top.
This is even better than the studio version. Man I wanna see Charley live!
Yes you do
If you have the opportunity @Yeehee don't pass it up!
This is REAL music!

Wow,that is one hell of a song!
Make that horn pop. Don’t dull it down.
Man I like some Charley, and that brass just kicks it
what a great musician, wish I had of fournd his sooner.
Charley is the man
LOVE this guy
The Trinity River travels well everywhere!!!
A jazz singer in a cowboy costume. Hell, why not?
Its not a costume, him and the rest of the band all wear suits and are the real deal 👌
Great song with a great feel.
Charley is the man.
🐊 Charley’s a legend!!
Seeing him September 2. Life is good
Awesomeness!!
Aw shit, when he strapped on the Danelectro U@ 96/56, which I have in blue since 1998...and he has a trumpet in his band, just keep liking what this man does...
He needs to re-record this song again. I love the live version so much ❤️

You're insane. The album version sounds exactly how they meant it to be heard and it has real feel. Even more so than this rendition.

A big hello from Texas
Wish I knew where he gets his clothes
same
TEXAS
Gotta hit eBay
Just take a stroll down sixth street in Austin. Some of the coolest vintage clothing stores ever.
He gets most from thrift stores and vintage shops
I’m a Charley Crockett Music Fan. Jonny Weiss “Hello Texas!” 🎶
Going to see Charlie play tomorrow may 29 in Hamilton Tx. Can’t wait!
I have lots of Trinity River memories, most of 'em pleasant

🎵❤🎵
when I was a kid growing up in Dallas we actually belong to the sons of Hermann....
Guy playing the trumpet looks like Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad lol

Sweeeet.... Country music with HORNS!
I don’t know why but this song gives me big van Morrison vibes
Looks like the Ed Bassmaster character mumbles.
🤣 it does
But cooler
Trinity River swim with the alligators experience bar none Texas experience

Sing Diamond joe, instead.

Dude Fr
Charley has some talent but this band is just garbage.
He's making it with them. So......
I don’t get this at all. I’m missing something I guess….all of it seems so contrived. From the clothes on down..
Nah this performance on point you're smoking something and not just weed
Can't wait for the live shows to come back....
This guys great. Country musics making a come back! About time.
Hi Mark - I agree. Jonny Weiss “Back to Phoenix.” 🎶
REAL country music!
I need some of this in my life! Good music!
My old ladys favorite tuned up a little, great jam bud!
