Glad you enjoy it!
Super Jim. Thank you, love it!
Thanks
Thanks again Jim for another fun song! Love that banjo too!
Thanks ☺️
Wow! Your videos never fail to impress me! Can’t wait to learn this one ✌️
Can’t wait to hear you play it!
Wow, I really like that banjo! Sounds really great!
Thanks 😊
Beautiful instrument. Love the sound. I love banjos.
Thanks for watching 😊
Great video Jim it's already stuck in my head
Enjoy!
Fantastic! You make it look so easy!
Thanks. You can do it.
Thank you for this video ! The way you explain things step by step is really helpful ! I’m a beginner with guitar playing experience but with other tutorials I always struggled a bit - with yours it was a lot easier !
Glad I can help 😊
Thanks Jim sounds great I'm going to learn that one thanks again.
Enjoy!
Very Nice Jim !!!
Thanks 😊
Another fun and interesting (easy) song. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Hot damn, Mr. Jim. You really nailed this.
Thanks
That is a great sounding banjo! Very well explained. I love that song! = -)
Glad I could help 😊
like it!
Glad you like it!
Nice.
Thanks 😊
Tricky, tricky, but still fun. I've never developed much of a taste for melodic playing, it's almost like I have a mental block because it's harder than it sounds and my fingers still want to keep doing rolls, but this is a melody I really do know well so I'm going to accept the challenge and learn it like you suggest, piece by piece then string it all together once I've got it down. Thanks again Jim, it's a pleasure learning with you, Tina Scott.
You’ve got this!
This one is a bit above my skillset. Gonna give it a whirl regardless. Thanks Jim!!
You might learn something!
Hey Jim , I’ve never learned that song in all my yrs of playing , but I learnt it in under 30 min by your video ! I wish this stuff was around 30ish yrs ago lol , I think my first book was “ learn how to play the banjo “ by Earl Scruggs , then they came out with a book and a record , I know you know exactly what I’m talking about , and todays technology ??? It would have been so much easier ! As always great job on what you do
Glad I could help you learn a new tune 😀
great
Thanks!
I'm worried you're gonna hurt you're back sitting like that. I'm enjoying the variety of content Jim
So… you can’t lean over? I’m just leaning over. I don’t think there’s anything unusual about that.
Hi Jim, I'm Tim in Alaska. Great song! I'm a Navy Vet. I was stationed in Kings Bay, Georgia in 1979 -81. That song kind of makes me wan't to puddle of up!😭
Thanks 😊
I'm Popeye the sailor man, I'm strong to the finish, 'cause I eat my spinach! Very nice, Jim. Still little busy here, the banjo will come.
Thanks 😊
That banjo looks good on you!
Thanks ☺️
Pretty tune and a pretty banjer. :)
Thanks
The lot of Banjos in background let'slook youa little messy.🤣
Thank you for your good work for us.🥰
Messy?
Jim,it is not easy to use every instrument,if I have so a lot.🤣
I would like to see some reels, slip jigs, and just plain ole Irish session tunes
Me too… I don’t play Irish music though.
Always lived Shanty songs, especially Hornpipes.
Thanks
Hey Jim. This is great. Would you be able to do the same for The Rights of Man? Love the tune and it doesnt seem to have been covered.
Good suggestion, but I don’t think I’ve ever played it.
🤠
😀
That's a beautiful sounding banjo Jim. What is it?
1967 Vega Scruggs Model
Where did you get that beautiful banjo
It belongs to a friend, but it came from Elderly Instrumentals last year.
Howdy 🤠
Hi!
Ah..cah cah cah! Popeye the sailor man!
I'm strong to the finish!!!
Earl didn't stay with Vega long. I have a beautiful old Vega tenor, gold engraved, short scale 1924 I should take down from the wall and put it to work. It has a 11 and 1/8th head and short scale neck. I have only seen one like it from England. I thought about converting it but I have other good banjos and no tenors. You really try to help people learn banjo for the love of it and not the money. That is a very admirable thing.
No… just 4 or 5 years in the 60s I guess.
@@JimPankey The Vega banjos are not sought after like the old Gibsons for a reason.
@@merlynschutterle7242 Whatever...
This is a great banjo and superior to anything Gibson was building in the 60s and 70s.
It's NOT for sale for a reason.
@@JimPankey I'll take your word for it. I never heard a prewar Gibson nor a Vega. Maybe I will upgrade my Vega with a 5-string neck.
Hi Jim, I’ve really enjoyed learning from you while I’m starting banjo. There’s a song on UA-cam of a guy playing “Chinese Happy Birthday” on banjo. Would you be able to break down the first loop he does? I can link the video if needed.
I don’t do custom lessons like that.
Please do more fiddle tunes; your arrangements sound great but aren't too difficult to play
Thanks. I really don’t play a lot of fiddle tunes.
Hi my meme/ Melanie told me that you were my cousin she said you were at the funeral home and it was good to see you
Hi there. 😀
Very cool Jim. My grandfather played this on his fiddle 🎻. I think he was decent. My son posted a recording on UA-cam from 1985. Glen and John MacIver look it up if you have a chance.
I'll have to check it out
That looks like Rachel's banjo!
It is!
Vega Pro II, gonna guess 1968 or 69.
