Yes correct Cecil, i used to use a Mower that had a disc with 4 blades bolted to it that spinned round on the disc, After a lot of use the blades would dull and only one side of the blade would get used. So we would flip the drive belt over on an angle to make the disc spin the other direction so the other sides of the blades would get used to.Or it would mean unbolting all the blades to sharpen them. Do you set and sharpen your saw? My father used to do both plus hammer it. My brother and I used to be the lucky ones to throw the wood away. It was run with and old chopped down 36 Chevy truck. His belt had a twist because of the way it was set up. Lot of memories.

I enjoy your videos, but check out mobius loop, I think that is what they meant by putting a 180 degree twist in the drive belt. I'm an old millwright myself, and never had a reason to use the Mobius loop myself. cheers

thanks for explaining that completely;;;;lol;;;back in the day;;;had a saw hooked to the old farmall and cut wood for heating and cooking;;;;run many a piece of oak and mesquite thru our saw;;;lots of work because all trunks and limbs were like a link of chainlink fence;;;;lol;;;had to be careful with every cut as even with proper blade sometimes the timber was not secure to fence or table and chunked if run timber into blade too quickly;;;;;good one;;;

didn't think about that on saw. the hammer mill would work both ways. it's a lot older than i am they used it with a b john deere and 65 mf with a rear pulley later on the 65 you could make it left hand or right hand. take care, be safe and well.
The negative degree sawblade was used for bucking pulpwood down here in the southeastern USA. It was mounted on a hand truck with 18-24 inch wheels with a 12hp horizontal shaft engine. Blade hung out front of the contraption a few feet and it took a helluva pulpwooder to push it around all day.
Cecil. There were some farm implements that were driven by the twisted belt system. One was a blower that we used for blowing straw up into the upper portion of the barn. This was 50 years ago, and at that time was old technology. We used a W4 tractor. Dan

A lot depends on the type of tractor and the rotation of the pulley and where the pulley is mounted .
Hello G. Nope all pulleys drive forward...no matter what tractor, what side, front or rear of tractor.
Saw mill, positive, rip blade. Buzz saw, negative, cross cut blade.
if the drive pulley is on the rear of the tractor like on the farmall a then you need a twist in the belt
