Chris Vallone I live in Boise Idaho and have always loved these cars. At an early age I had a 65 Corvair and drove that car until the engine fell apart.
it is awesome when it is all done. Many times these cars fight ya tooth and nail, but it is always a huge calming and humbling feeling when it is all done, and it is off to its owner.
My parents had this exact year VW and color in Venice, California. I’m looking for and old picture that might show the old license plate-wouldn’t it be wild if it was the same car? Amazing you have the Bendix radio with matching trim and the map rack accessories. Great job!
"So Bug"....love it! Looking forward to self-isolating when Euell returns home this weekend! Thank you Chris--it turned out so much better than I could ever have imagined!!!!
Awesome resto Chris - must be so nerve racking when it goes up on the truck after all that work - looked great in there with the shiny underbelly just showing. You do ‘em right Chris
Hello Chris my car was on a trailer tilted from California to Florida 6 days, I had the oil changed the day before it was topped off, the car started fine no problems but the only thing I noticed was small drops of oil leaks around the main seal and the surrounding areas which it didn’t have before, any advise? Thank you.
Hi Chris. I've ran into an issue with my 72 beetle. Bought new door hinges and upon installing I realized that there are two different sizes of screws needed. I bought the size 8-1.25. and they bolt hinge to body. But will not bolt hinge to door. What size is needed or what to do please.
@@ravenfritts6615 I have never had to put the hinge fastened to the door. Never had one damaged that bad. But I think they only have the screws today for that job.
@@classicvwbugs in my opinion that’s well worth it. My uncle who just passed away of cancer @ 38 years old left me his 1970 Volkswagen Beetle that my 82 year old grandfather gave him. I’m saving up every dime I have to get it restored with you Chris. I’ve done so much research and there’s no Volkswagen restoration company that does it more trust worthy than you. I’m from California so my bug isn’t that bad. Hopefully it won’t cost me a fortune, but I will get it done some day.
Hello! I am trying to find this colour paint code for the restoration of my Combi, I have searched everywhere but the most similar I can find it’s the L380, and that looks a bit darker, what is the Color code of this beetle? Anyone knows? Thanks a lot in advance 😊
NICE ONE

Hmmm hinge to door? Back in the day, hinge to door was riveted.
@@classicvwbugs do you guys rivet them or a different approach?

How much does a restoration like this go for?
Restorations at this time start at 65k, if you have a very solid and complete car.

PPG code 42878
Paint code please
I got a video on how to find paint codes.
Meep meep...
Sorry Chris but for 40 k Labor the front and rear Hood gaps are not there .30 yrs in bugs experiense tell me that
Appreciate the input, that car was real nice, camera angles can also play a factor in that. You would have to see it up close and personal.
I can see it from Croatia ..NeXT time some more time on the rear and front apron . It is hard but can be done.
