- My farm has transformed into a winter wonderland! Join me in this video as we embark on a yard clean-up mission following the season's first snowfall, boasting a generous eight inches of snow. Discover the efficiency of our snow pusher and trusty tractor as we strategically pile up the snow, creating pathways for easy access to and from the yard for our trucks. However, there's a humorous twist - our snow-moving operation lacks GPS precision! Stick around until the end to find out if that's about to change...

QUESTION - Have a question about farming or life on the farm? Drop it in the comments!
Matthias, aka HiTech Farmer, is a 5th generation family farmer from Southwest Minnesota who promotes agriculture by capturing it through the lens of a camera, one video at a time. Passionate about emerging farm technologies and the benefits of 21st-century precision agriculture tools, such as farm equipment, GPS, and autonomous tractors, Matthias is determined to bring new methods into his operation. These methods can improve his farm's efficiency and sustainability into the future. Learning from his parents' (Mike and Dawn) work ethic, Matthias sees every day as an opportunity to educate and entertain about the daily triumphs and challenges his farm faces, whether technology-related or not. His mission is to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of agriculture as he embarks on what it means to be a farmer in the modern era.
Give this video a 👍 if you want me to put GPS on the snow pusher!
Definitely add the GPS that’s actually what GPS stands for !
G =get
P= pushing
S= snow. 🤣 Pretty cool 😎 to have your own HiTech Batteries!! Now with all that snow, where’s the snowman? ❄ ⛄ ❄ Have a great weekend Matthias. 👋
I like your rendition of GPS. Might have to slip that into a future video! No snowman yet, too cold to be “playing”. Have a good weekend my friend
Thank you for responding back to my comment I appreciate you very much I love you videos that's awesome yes yes GPS on a snow pusher get it done
Appreciate all the comments and support. Hopefully we can get the GPS on it!
Absolutely Mathias, you're the high tech farmer. Add that GPS to your snow removal.
Watching you out in the snow reminded me of how it was in the 60's living in northeast Iowa. Very cold and lots of snow. I'm retired and in Arkansas now, but we're having a cold snap here for the next week at least, and possibly some snow. Down here snow becomes an "emergency". There's a rush on the grocery stores and the shelves will be practically bare. I got mine last night when it was still 50 degrees and a light rain. Right now 26 degrees and the wind is howling, feels like 14 outside, but I'm not going out for any reason.
Be safe out there in the cold.

Appreciate the comment Linda! Yes, hopefully we can get 200 likes on the video and it’ll happen. Funny how different parts of the world deal with snowstorms. I’m surprised it gets down to 14 degrees down there. It’s -23 up here today 🥶
Great Grandpa would at first shake his head in disgust then give a smiley grin😉
I believe that. Maybe mumble “too much technology”
Matthias adding GPS would be interesting to see! Most people living in Minnesota dislike moving snow.
Yes, moving snow isn’t something I look forward too 🥲
I use GPS on my driveway all the time. When I look out the window and see drifts across it I say to myself Gotta Push Snow! Nice to see everyone getting some snow finally. We got about 6 or 8 inches in the last week ourselves. Unfortunately it also brought the cold weather with it as well. It was - 37 this morning. 🥶
Well I won’t be the first to use GPS to push snow than. Yeah, going to be cold here for a bit too 😢
Good to see that you can still operate with so much snow. Here in Ireland we would be stopped, and in the pub drinking Guinness!!!
Thanks for the comment! Yes, a little snow doesn’t stop us
Go for it, Mathias! You'd definitely be the 1st Farmtube channel that I've seen do it. 👍
Hopefully 🤞
Add GPS to your snow remover wild crazy to me I think it will work that's where you'll be having free from the steering wheel I think you should go for it it would be wild and crazy take care of yourself around the equipment Yukon
Thanks for the comment. 200 likes and it’ll happen. My luck it won’t snow then 😅
👍
Though my family only farms around 40 acres in India which is very less compared to American farmer but we love when we see our fellow farmguy
Doing the same things we do , hardworking , feeding the world
Man all farmers of the world have same kimd of feeling and sense of connection with each other regardless of nation
Love your content
Appreciate your comment and sharing where your from. India, cool! Yes, I’d agree every farmer is the same in those characteristics. What sort of crops do you grow?
@@HiTech_Farmer i am from Rajasthan State of India I live in the north part of this state
We Grow
Wheat, barley, mustard, sugarcane, mustard , millet, chickpea, pea , pigeon pea, potato, onion, cluster beans , soyabeen( sometimes), green gram beans, carrots, turnip , Cotton, sunflower( some do but we don't)almost all kinds of vegetables
My area don't support Paddy due to less allocation of canal water , we have a groundwater table of 30 feet but water is bit salty but has improved in decades. Only small amount farmers grow sugarbeet because we have sugarcane and we don't really need that much sugarbeet. just like the warm states of US like California, east and south Texas , coastal Louisiana + alabama & florida
The temprature in my area reach at height in June at 49.6° celcius( 121.28° F) and lowest at 1.5-2° celcius ( 34.7° F) in January
My northern and western neighbour state of Punjab( India) & Punjab( Pakistan) is great place for agriculture rich land with groundwater , a weather that can support all type of year around agriculture 6 big rivers in a area of 250k Sq km , and big Canals
@@HiTech_Farmer the Northern States and union territories of India like Jammu , Ladakh , Himachal Pradesh , Uttrakhand, Sikkim , Arunachal Pradesh etc. experience snowfall from November to February-march which is around 10-11% of India
These are Himalayan states
Thanks for sharing! That’s awesome how many things are grown in your area! Also that’s crazy that your groundwater table is 30ft!! I’m guessing your 40 acres is split into a bunch of crops rather than just 1 or 2.
@@HiTech_Farmer in winter season last year 10 acres were for wheat , 12 for barley , 10 for mustard and rest for chickpead and other crops
Farming is the most targetting section of the economy farmers are the one who are driving the world because food drive humans and humans control world. We have Farmer unions here who always help us to know the anti agricultural policies of government and we don't let anyone to touch our beloved farm.
We don't get prices of that we need.
There is a saying in my language "Kheti ghate da sauda" means
( Farming is a business of loss)
But we are converting it into profit
We mostly enter in the politics to have a grip and we have a grip.
We are always with our american farmer from heart because back in 50s US farmers supplied us with grain that we needed because we didn't have enough due to structural failure in newly decolonized India.
We also Drive John Deere not big ones like America but small 50-65 HP
I wish we get snow where I'm at the only thing we got right now is the rain and the cold
Rain>Snow in terms of shoveling
@@HiTech_Farmer that's true
I think it would be a nice video using GPS to remove snow.
Agreed! We’ll see if we can get 200 likes 👍
do they make snowblower attachments for the john deere :)
Yes they do! We used to have a blower, but it was picking up too many rocks and sending them thru the shed. So now we push
just wondering how much snow did you got so far?
We’re up to 13 inches for the season. That’s enough 🤣
@@HiTech_Farmer oh wow that's a lot of snow
@zilla2006able last year we were over 4ft
@@HiTech_Farmer 😮
Which state do you live in?
MinneSNOWta
GPS for pushing snow = waste of time. Put some weights on the front of the tractor instead...lol
😅 what’s the benefit for the weight? Better traction?
Use your common sense and soldier on.
