We used to own a rapid AT top end diesel we sold in march of 2021, I booked a verna with revv but they changed it to ciaz at last moment i was not really happy but after driving it 312 kms X 2 this car was very comfortable and driving was a breeze only issue was i had to fill fuel worth 5k overall since it was petrol, Its fast its wide spacious and comfortable definitely better than that rapid vento verna line, now we are planning to buy this car.
I bought ciaz alpha manual petrol in 11lack..it is definitely value for money... In terms of passengers comfort definitely it feel u wow..
What is the petrol mileage
I liked everything about the ciaz, especially their safety features, the headlights, the new instrument cluster etc. However, I wish that they would changed the steering wheel to a flat bottom one like the one on the dzire's. It would have made it look a little elegant.

I own new facelift of ciaz. My review- Performane great. Power steering very poor. Left glass started vibrating while pulling up. Seats superbly comfortable. Mileage 20 highway and 12 city with ac. Looks , music system, pickup are great. Ac needs to b more powerful. Blow is low. Even though some cons, its better than verna and city. It has more rich look. If you like comfort above all things then go for it. If you like to push vehicle hard, then go for verna or city.

All the budget of 6 airbags was lost as fee of ranvir singh for the advertisement...
I wanted S variant to have 6 airbags, sunroof, Turbo engine and all LED setup.
Interior is very beutiful...Big long. Car ...with trusted suzuki brand ...and service like nexa👍
Maruti should've launched diesel varient with Fiat's 1.6. Ciaz already is a practical vehicle but less than 90Hp in this segment is a complete no-no. And 4 speed torque converter? Really? Are we in 90s?
Pushkar Sonawane torque converter is average with performance, brilliant with mileage and superb with maintenance... Any cvt and dsg can't beat the torque converter in terms of mileage and maintenance... I know it because I own it.lol
S-Cross 1.6 was indeed launched here. Who bought it? 10 people!
Most Indians just want a big car with fuel economy and nothing else. That's the problem
bro how is the driving dynamics of torque converter, i.e, are they slow in upshifting/downshifting ?
Also I heard that they are costly to maintain. Is it true ?

well i had the same taught. To the question of why no 1.6 diesel... many speaks about the sales figures which were less, less localization and pricey parts and some speak of reliability issues like not good for indian diesel quality ... Actually whats the problem ... all the aforementioned factors contribute ??
Looks more stylish...but cud have increased airbags, added sunroof and improved engine power in both diesel n petrol.
I think the new ciaz looks absolutely beautiful!! Maruti has nailed it with the styling. they should've given a sunroof though to make a statement.

Only thing I love about Maruti is their recycling proccess. They recycle cold drink cans and make cars. 😋😋😋😋

For this 2nd gen car expected some better than this.
In India people don't usually think about safety or hard plastic. They see the looks and efficiency rather than performance. People do see rear seat space. As far as features go Ciaz offers most of the necessary features (except maybe sunroof). And the most important thing Maruti Suzuki is famous for its reliability and customer service. But I feel if you want a petrol vehicle in this segment go for Honda City and if you want an Diesel vehicle go for the Hyundai Verna.

Maruti has nailed it with design styling features and also comfort hopefully more maruti cars come with such features major missing is 6 airbags and a sunroof(over rated feature )
To be frank i never saw a honda city owner or a verna owner using the sunroof atleast on the highways

I'm surprised why the automatic is only 4 speed.They might as well provide a CVT gearbox instead of the old antiquated one.
Saravanan M : Please keep in mind that cvt transmissions are totally unreliable. When it fails after company warranty they will charge a hefty amount for transmission replacement. & mind you cvt can't be repaired, only replacement is the only option. This huge amount in lakhs is on the customer's shoulders. So choose torq converters. Most tc gearboxes are lifelong gearboxes. No maintenance if oilchanges were done on time.
Also I don't think the speed limit warning beep should start from 80kmph to 120kmph, it's kinda annoying. Whereas it could just warn you when you touch 120.And the fact that it cannot be switched off will make one go mad.

It will give sleepless nights to Honda city, especially with the petrol top end variant costing less that 10lakhs(ex-showroom). The low end performance is a major point to be noted down since Honda city's 117 hp can be extracted only at high RPMs. This is where the Ciaz matches it's arch rival in terms of performance. Yes, safety wise other it loses out to its competitors but as a overall package it is easily the best.

can you tell us what emission standards this car follows? I read somewhere it is BS-4. Isnt that going to get banned from registering from mid-2019? In that case selling the car after few years will become impossible.

Don't you agree that India needs plugin hybrids? Battery for city drives and fossil for longer drives.

request to auto car India please compare this with the competition. as fer the face lift not much has changed but that is fine because it still remains the cheapest among the competition and also the value for money. which only the hyundai verna is. built quality and plastic quality will be improved in the next gen cieas. i say this because maruti has improved the desire's quality a lot. and I do agree with auto car India, this is not a car for hearts.
Placement of hand rest is soooooo awkward, you can't even use that properly
Yeah this is a sore miss. They should have got the front sliding arm rest from the S Cross, and even the new steering wheel from the Ignis. Even the variable setting for the intermittent wiper is missing in a premium sedan. It is there in the S Cross. Even my 2010 i20 Asta 1.4L automatic has it. The switches could have been replaced at least now. Sigh ... Maruti!

Hi Gavin, which option should be considered manual or automatic. Does the automatic have smooth shifts or is it an AMT.
I personally feel that the interiors could have been made more sophisticated in terms of quality. The new look is smart but the rear end of Ciaz is quite high up which makes it feel like a cheaper end car rather than a modern sedan, Maruti should definitely consider lowering the bumper because you can see the rear axle. However the smart hybrid in Petrol is welcome and a unique addition to a car costing this price.

People in the comments should know that along with the engine it also has an electric motor which increases the torque output so acceleration should probably be on par with its rivals.

why doesn't Maruti make a powerful sports model of Ciaz...... That would be great to have a powerful sports sedan from Maruti Suzuki....... They should think about reintroducing Kizashi as an Domestic production vehicle instead of CKD or CBU

Verna for diesel and Honda City for Petrol are are the best in the segment. Yaris for its ride comfort as well a reliability of Toyota and last but not the least Ciaz for those who want nothing, not even their life but milage and resale value.

I like the overall upgrade but I don’t like the front grill design much . It is somewhat not in sync with the design flow when seen in totality along with the headlights.

I not sure how many of us noticed this issue. There is small manufacturing defect in ciaz steering wheel is not slightly towards left side of drive. This might cause for your shoulder pain

anyday diesel Verna petrol city thatsit... ciaz ie value for money . . Yaris is not good for driving dyanmics but best for safety and unique features

i feel in the long run around 70-100k km the engine would require an overhaul and the ISG.
Not worth of the price because:-
1. Lack of safety i.e only two airbags in top varient and its rivals offers 6-8 airbags from base variants.
2. Cheap plastic quality used.
3. Rear seat has very less headroom a person of 6 ft. Height cannot sit properly also in ad the hero is shifted to a bit front to sit back there.
4. Very underpowered engine only 90 PS diesel engine and its rivals offers more than 120ps power.
5. No automatic varient in diesel.
6. Not a worthy update.
7. In the same price as ciaz its rivals like Hyundai Verna, Honda city, etc. Offer more features, more safety, more powerful engine so why one would go for ciaz.
Ciaz didn't justify the price at which it is launched.........

Hi... Want your opinion on which car would you suggest between skoda onyx rapid vs new ciaz alpha. Petrol.. Which s better in terms of drive quality feature, quality and value for money.. Both have similar price.. I presently drive polo 1.6 MT petrol and want to upgrade to sedan
Rapid is better in terms of driving pleasure and performance.
Ciaz is better in terms of mileage, maintenance cost, after sales service, and resale value.

ciaz usp is its pricing,interior space and the road presence cause of its sheer length.The car mainly satisfies the needs of a non enthusiast.
Ciaz facelift will however get a chunky part of the sales immediately.However when the new Honda city is launched maybe next year 2019 will make the ciaz facelift look a decade older.
Waiting for the SHVS 1.5ltr Petrol engine in the new S Cross.... 🙄🙄

So now buying a powerful engine like city petrol n verna diesel is waste of money if you can't enjoy it beyond 120 kmph..
While driving "uphill" if the engine stops due to "hybrid", the car will move backward even if you brake, (since there is no power transmission from engine to brake )...This is utterly dangerous... Did Maruthi notice this flaw?
Is it really so, reviewer please reply to the query.
The AT variant does not roll back when the brake is depressed and the engine shuts off. Also, since it has hill-hold assist, when the engine restarts the car stays still for 3 seconds and gives you time to depress the accelerator.

Yes. Most of the passenger in India seating at the rear wear seat belt which is a primary safety feature. We take it very casually & demand for more Airbags which is surely damage our body if the seat belt is not engage. be sense able.

im looking to buy the same, I havent heard anything bad about the automatic models. The technology might be old but it is reliable and long lasting and easier on the pockets if something goes wrong.

It's 2018 still Not a single car in Complete Indian Lineup or Made for India Car by Suzuki is 5 star safe! - This Means their intention is you pay us lakhs 10 of lakh and buy 'our car' so we will take care of it in all ways possible like after sales, service, spares and even resale because it is 'our car' but we don't care about 'lives of people' who bought it, drive it or use it! It is just matter of time soon people will start to realize this dark side then Suzuki will see massive kickbacks!
