I've a ciaz 1.4 petrol Yes in terms of power it's very underpowered and stering is heavy, but in terms of ride, handling, refinement, back seat, silent nature, gearbox, clutch, breaks it's fantastic. I'm getting an average milage of 15 , combined driving in Bangalore.
I did a 900 Kms and found the vehicle stable, good road command and grip. Topped speed 180kmph for 2 seconds and didn't have the visibility on road to push it beyond. Goes like a breeze and cabin doesn't vibrate like it's going to fall apart. Got a fuel economy of 16. I have a diesel hybrid. INTERIOR QUALITY is better than most rivals and comparable to City. Some would like Ciaz better as it's cleaner and neat compared to City's busy assymetrical finish.
On highways you got a mileage of 16!!! Maruti is claiming the diesel variant gives fuel economy of 27 kmpl. We at least should get 20-22 kmpl. 16 is very low mileage.
This is for all the ciaz fans. ciaz hasn't gone through any safety test. Honda city scores 14/15 in safety test (ASEAN Ncap). i've been driving both the cars from a while. ciaz is good for roaming around city but at highways when you accelerate above 100kmph the steering becomes so fuckin light whereas honda city is way more stable at high speeds. safety is a big thing to consider. so city has an edge over ciaz in terms of safety and safety is a big thing to consider in my opinion.
I have been using CIAZ -(18 model) since 2018 . My car has petrol engine. It is giving 18 KM/ Lt mileage on long drive, locally 16 to 17 KM. I am highly enjoying driving. U never notice sound with smooth running like Metro train while driving compared to other cars. Driving seat ,inner space,seating comfort is higher compared to Honda city. No complaints. Maitenenance very low. Look is the best ! Honda lacks good look.ABS is same.These are plus in ciaz.Servicing is every where. Because of this plus points, Honda is try to copy the features of ciaz to overcome competition. If u dont love Indian cars then only prefer Honda/ verna.
I have tested both the Ciaz and Honda City. (of course not like a professional). However, I noticed that power steering in Ciaz is 'thicker' to grip and feels much 'heavier' compared to City, which which is much lighter and it makes it less tiring , on long or city drive. A light steering is a significant feature in any car. Unfortunately, presently Maruti cars seem to have 'heavier' steering - tried an Alto, and this also had similar heavy feel. (It was never so earlier). Regretfully, Honda's seats are too low for comfort, on which the Ciaz scores. One has to be extremely careful on a Honda City and watch out for speed breakers as these can severely damage the car as it is too low. Despite all this, I would still personally prefer a Honda City to a Maruti Ciaz.
i have ciaz shvs zdi+. i really want to say is it is very very best car up to now i driven all cars nearly but i felt so much comfortable in ciaz i drive daily 150 kms nearly. if anybody want to buy new car in this seagment just go for ciaz
I just don’t get it why everybody says ciaz handles so poorly..... I have crossed 150 km/hr mark without even noticing so many times “accidentally”, and steering was pretty solid, i have vdi+ And while driving my baleno 1.2, steering just feels so light and i rarely cross 120 km/hr mark as i don’t get much confidence.

clash ott your ass city does 0-100 in 9.8 sec... and you get great mileage engines are much stronger than ciaz engines. That's the reason you can see 10-15 year old Honda city on roads.
Hello, Last month May 2017 I took the test drive of both cars Petrol CIaz Alpha and Petrol City VX versions before coming on short official trip to UK. Once I reach India in Sep 2017 I am will decide one among these two, I am Inclined towards City but 3 lakh price diff among these is another factor which throws me towards Ciaz. 3 Lakh is good amount i can buy one sport bike. BHP and similar other points does not matter as they are neck-in-neck, suffice the need as buying this car for office and City drive purpose. Below are my observations so far and its my personal observation may differ from yours and not any intentions to hurt anyone's feeling here. What I Liked in Ciaz Alpha Petrol 1. Awesome product from Maruti Suzuki after long time. 2. Side look is 1000 times better than city. 3. Long Car, Side profile reminds me my Honda Accord 2014 model which I bought in USA. It’s really Long Car which is good for Indian Families these days. Number claims that city is 50 MM shorter then Ciaz but it appears city is 100 MM shorter than Ciaz. 4. Good Mileage compared to city. 5. Comfortable ride and spacious than City. 6. Good price of Alpha, 3 lakh’s cheaper then City Vx. What I did not like in Ciaz Alpha Petrol 1. Does not look a solid build from outside. City Looks solid Build from Outside. 2. Front headlamp does not go well with overall front look but overall front look is simple and good. 3. Quality of plastic found better in city facelift 2017 4. New Product has all the bells and whistles but it does not have that premium tag yet which might come after few years, that’s where Maruti has been struggling since last many years, hope this product will fill that gap now after some time. 5. Not Face Turner Yet. 6. City Steering gives better feel than CIaz. What I liked in City Vx Petrol 1. Most of the things are good and proven in city but few worth to mention which are check for me 2. Front look is well proportionate and looks awesome and Check for me. 3. Side profile looks good and well proportionate but not awesome, this is also Check for me. 4. City’s interior cabin is much luxurious then Ciaz Alpha. Big Check 5. City’s overall Design. Big Check What I did not like in City Vx Petrol 1. Looks small (Length + Width) overall in size compared to Ciaz. 2. City Vx 3 lakh’s expensive than Ciaz Alpha. Big Amount, can buy one Sport Bike. 3. 2017 Facelift looks tiny compared to old one at this price tag.

I own a ciaz zdi and i am sorry to say i don't found it worth for 11lakhs on road price , gurgaon 1st issue - braking system of the car is not at all acceptable , it have the same problem as we found on older swift 2nd issue is about the thin metal sheet , body of ciaz is too light , once a grand i10 hit the ciaz from back side and the ciaz got damaged badly and the i10 got minor scratches only
In petrol version city is better overall, in diesel ciaz is better overall,I test drive both versions of both cars. This is what I find out. Both cars are good.

New City is much better in Looks, performance, handling, interiors and accessories/facilities to driver. Ciaz is trying, but maybe cos its cheaper and many ppl think of cheap service of Maruti that they go for it. Small things bot noticeable ones on CIty - Doesn't offer bigger tyres in any of the trim, 15'' is small for the segment. - Non foldable key on a 12+ lakh car is surprising - Non adjustable head rest is a big No No - Alloys are boring
+Shaiju B vx variant is having foldable key n i vill prefer that alloys nyday over the ciaz ones first get studied wat r the quality of alloys in city n ciaz... the percentage of nickel is very low in ciaz alloys. it is quite cheaper even,,, head rest is nothing to be criticised even check the ciaz ac controls it reminds m of maruti 800 it is good for economical consumers while city is claass in all aspects

I just don't get this unjustified obsession to "touch-screen"! How is a touch-screen really a "feature" ? It is in fact a drawback, because you have to take your eyes off the road to operate a touch screen. I own a honda city (and I love it.. if I might add..) but I am just thankful (though not very happy), that they have given only the AC with touch screen controls and not everything. It's in fact a safety hazard. I would always prefer proper hard buttons to a touch screen panel, especially in a car.
To be honest Maruti's cars are really good i had Suzuki Alto driven massive for 7 years millage nearly reached 96,000. My car was always serviced but because some little mechanical for first time, the car service department refused they say we,only do service not do mechanical job. As my car was just 2 days away from registration .In desperation i trade my Suzuki Alto to Honda City. I'm not keen to new technology as am 53 years old. I do not know why SUZUKI makers don't get feed backs how there cars maintain in Australia.
Still with Honda dealer trade on Saturday the 11th they taking time to register and transfer to my name. Today is 4th working day still not ready they gave me a loan car until they ready.
City is just awful. You can't just reject ciaz for its small engine, have a look at the price difference and mileage also. And why should we require more power, do you think we gonna race on BIC... Such a biased review..
Ok show your power on highway and get a speeding ticket from interceptor standing on a highway. U gotta understand, just a difference of 10 PS can't compensate 1.5 lakh rupees u r putting in it ..
+Ashish Kundu City is one of the best mid segment cars, even the looks are much better than Ciaz.... Ciaz on the other hand looks like a cheap mid level car, the interiors cry of low level plastics used from lower car variants. You don't need to race, but if you're going for mid segment power are you looking at low performance? Performance wise City is way better, don't be upset if you've bought a Ciaz though, its still 2nd best.
ciaz is much better in all the aspects than any other car in same segment be it buying experience or After sales and also long term maintenance. as far as speed is concerned i think anything beyond 3000 rpm on Indian roads is not safe. Even on premium highways barring 2 or 3 u cant maintain even 130 for 15 minutes. .

Just for my peace of mind and all resolved issues from Hyundai, I would go with 4S verna instead of new experimental launches from all companies (at least, till the product acquire some trust over time instead of going with Brand's name ) Yes, I feel better to go with Verna, even if it doesn't give you confidence around corner at high speed, cramped leg room but smile, hey, I am looking for a trusted product instead of trusted brand. 4S Verna made hardly any change in engine mechanics or technology from Fluidic verna. (Ignore dics brakes, it still have great stopping power, ABS standard in all ) Yeah, good for me. Trusted product over time.. Not brand.. Mind what I say.. :)

I won't comment anything on japanese cars but my dad's santro serving my family for 12 years without any single problem till now might have made my mind biased towards koreans. :)

Looks and comfort are not essential i still think that if Suzuki cars are looked after. They will the finest affordable cars. The difference is HONDA company does service repair pink slip to pass the car where as SUZUKI dealers don't just service won't explain that after so many kilometers you will need to repair just they will follow book and say good bye.

Ciaz also has a turbo version.. that should have been compared with city 1.5 or 1.3 city should have been compared with this version of ciaz

I just don't get this unjustified obsession to "touch-screen"! How is a touch-screen really a "feature" ? It is in fact a drawback, because you have to take your eyes off the road to operate a touch screen. I own a honda city (and I love it.. if I might add..) but I am just thankful (though not very happy), that they have given only the AC with touch screen controls and not everything. It's in fact a safety hazard. I would always prefer proper hard buttons to a touch screen panel, especially in a car.
Touch-screen is more intuitive to use because we are used to smartphones.
To be honest Maruti's cars are really good i had Suzuki Alto driven massive for 7 years millage nearly reached 96,000. My car was always serviced but because some little mechanical for first time, the car service department refused they say we,only do service not do mechanical job. As my car was just 2 days away from registration .In desperation i trade my Suzuki Alto to Honda City. I'm not keen to new technology as am 53 years old. I do not know why SUZUKI makers don't get feed backs how there cars maintain in Australia.

City is just awful. You can't just reject ciaz for its small engine, have a look at the price difference and mileage also. And why should we require more power, do you think we gonna race on BIC... Such a biased review..

+Ashish Kundu City is one of the best mid segment cars, even the looks are much better than Ciaz.... Ciaz on the other hand looks like a cheap mid level car, the interiors cry of low level plastics used from lower car variants. You don't need to race, but if you're going for mid segment power are you looking at low performance? Performance wise City is way better, don't be upset if you've bought a Ciaz though, its still 2nd best.
Why some Indians try to speak in animated accent? It makes the story difficult to follow. Also the review is not good.

ciaz is much better in all the aspects than any other car in same segment be it buying experience or After sales and also long term maintenance. as far as speed is concerned i think anything beyond 3000 rpm on Indian roads is not safe. Even on premium highways barring 2 or 3 u cant maintain even 130 for 15 minutes. .

Just for my peace of mind and all resolved issues from Hyundai, I would go with 4S verna instead of new experimental launches from all companies (at least, till the product acquire some trust over time instead of going with Brand's name ) Yes, I feel better to go with Verna, even if it doesn't give you confidence around corner at high speed, cramped leg room but smile, hey, I am looking for a trusted product instead of trusted brand. 4S Verna made hardly any change in engine mechanics or technology from Fluidic verna. (Ignore dics brakes, it still have great stopping power, ABS standard in all ) Yeah, good for me. Trusted product over time.. Not brand.. Mind what I say.. :)

Looks and comfort are not essential i still think that if Suzuki cars are looked after. They will the finest affordable cars. The difference is HONDA company does service repair pink slip to pass the car where as SUZUKI dealers don't just service won't explain that after so many kilometers you will need to repair just they will follow book and say good bye.
