This Book CRUSHED Me!! 😭 Wolfsong - TJ Klune 🐺

- This is quite possibly the most emotional book I have ever read. The combination of a heart wrenching found family story mixed with TJ Klunes immersive writing made this book very heavy. It was ultimately a great book but I often found myself having to put it down because I would get overwhelmed by the story. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a book that did that to me. Make sure if you decide to read this, that you’re in a good head space and can handle the abundance of emotion packed into this novel.

Books aside, good for you for not being afraid to go public with trying makeup after only two tries!! In my 48 years, I’ve never had that much courage. Proud of you buddy!
@@MrScottaa I really appreciate that! It was definitely a difficult decision but I’m glad I decided to express myself :)
I did not notice the makeup until you mentioned it so well done. I stay away from books/films similar to this because I don't like crying; my sinuses get all messed up and I get a headache, etc.. I swear once I turned 40 my emotion chip got locked into the On position with certain things that hit close to home. I watched Saving Mr. Banks and ended up weeping uncontrollably in the theater because Tom Hanks, and I had to go get ice cream after.
@@claudesvlogs Hey I totally understand. I’m not sure I can handle these either, but things change over time! Who knows, we could both be reading sad stories when we’re 90 😂
@@ShadysideLibrary LOL true!
I actively avoid books which are apt to make me sad. I realize I sometimes miss out on things, but like you, I deal with depression/anxiety & this type of book tends to trigger those moods/feelings. One example, I recall in my early 20's, Stephen King's Pet Sematary threw me into a depression. RE: the make-up, I think you look great! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@musicroom7185 Thank you :)
And I’m glad you can relate, sometimes a book really can trigger some not so good thoughts and emotions
I couldn’t tell you had makeup on you did a good job
@@alyssanicholson4312 Awh thank you!
Good job with the makeup. I haven't read TJ Klune but might pick him up in the future.
@@matthewclarke thank you!! And he’s a great author from what I’ve read! I hear his books can be quite sad though
Just put a reservation in for this at my local library. Can't wait to read it!
@@Forever_Nostalgic best of luck! It’s quite the ride!
Pack. Pack. Pack. 🐺 Zach I’m so sorry it was difficult for you to read. This is one of my favorite series. TJ Klune is talented in that he makes us feel these emotions ! I’m either laughing or crying when I read him. I think you would like The Extraordinaries. You will laugh a lot. It’s about teen superheroes. Very good !
@@BookBuds I actually have a copy of The extraordinaries!! I’ll definitely have to dive into it. I’d love to eventually finish out this series but not until I’m ready.
I love TJ Klune! Can’t wait to read this (also you look great)
@@AlyssaL731 Thank you so much!!!
TJ Klune is an author I keep hearing great things about and I definitely want to read some of his books soon. I want to read Wolfsong cause it sounds amazing but I'm a bit nervous to start it now. However I think it will definitely be worth the read. The makeup looks great by the way.
@@glendyc22 thanks so much!! Yes I kept hearing about TJ Klune as well!! I’m not sure Wolfsong is the best place to start but I’ll definitely be reading more of his books
I’m sorry that you went into this book blind… I would highly recommend trying The house in the cerulean sea, as that book from TJ Klune is really heartwarming and will lift you up, which anyone needs after finishing Wolfsong 😅
Your makeup looks great!
Honey your make up is great. I have always been a book lover and recently figured out i was bi so i just love to gravitate towards queer books. I read that one 1st having heard of him before. I read that in a day. Dear god, i was broken into two. Be brave, love is love.
@@niwanthiekanayake9061 Thank you so much for the sweet comment 🥹 Love is love! 🏳️🌈
Thank you so much for your review. This will make a great Christmas gift for my daughter. As for makeup - history is full of times when men wore makeup - nothing wrong with being part of bringing that back.
@@christinejohnson2839 thank you for the kind words! And I’m glad I was able to help you pick out a book for your daughter :)
@@ShadysideLibrary I found a complete set of the series signed by the author! Keep it up with your videos - you never know just how someone may need you.
@@christinejohnson2839 Wow that’s incredible!!!
Sounds like a kick ass book. Great review.
If I had done your makeup everyone would be able to tell! 😆But now I remember the I Love Lucy episode when they go to Charm School. 😆Good video, Zach.
@@rayboydstun1626 haha Thanks Ray!
I absolutely loved Wolfsong! It’s all candy canes and pinecones and epic and awesome! 😂 The entire series is very intense, but worth it in my opinion. But yeah you definitely need to be in a good headspace.
PS I think the make up looks great!
@@MSMDragon Thank you so much!!
It’ll be a while before I’m ready but eventually I do want to read the rest of the series!
At first glance, I thought it was something different with the lighting. Looks good.
It sounds like a heavy book.
I don't know if The Song of Achilles will have the same effect on you when you read it, but if it does feel free to take a break with it.
@@edlewisnoctreviews gotcha, I’ll have to read up on it before diving in!
Hi!
This is off-topic, but I was wondering if you ever read any summer-y books during this time of year? Maybe a scary summer camp novel or something like that? If so, do you have any recommendations?
Thanks!
@@jchester-prince5905 hmm, I will sometimes pick up a “thematic” book but some recommendations I can think of are sunburn (fear street) and Happy Place by Emily Henry. I’ll have to check my Goodreads to find some others!
@@ShadysideLibraryThank you 😊
I couldn't tell that u had makeup on. U still look the same in my opinion.
@@kirazinn oh ok! I guess that means I didn’t put in too much haha!!
As with all things, make-up takes practice. Good for you for trying something new 😸
@@TepidShambles Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement 🫶🏼
@@ShadysideLibrary I have Wolfsong on my wish list of books to buy, I might have to order it sooner now lol
@@TepidShambles Hey as long as you know what you’re getting into, I think you’ll really enjoy it! And if you want more, it’s a 4 book series haha!
