Liam didnt suggest the "So Sally can wait..." bit deliberately, Noel was playing it and Liam was in the next room, at this point Noel hadnt finished writing the lyrics and was just mumbling along with the melody, Liam came in and said "Who's Sally?" Noel was confused... "That is what you were singing isnt it?" It wasn't, but Noel liked it and it stuck.
"are you singing so Sally can wait?" No "Well you should" That's the conversation they had so yes Liam misheard Noel's mumbling and inadvertently came up with that line
You are blessed to having been discovering this band at such a young age, man ;) (What's the story) Morning Glory is my favourite album - reminds me of my first roadtrip where it was the only album we were able to listen to :D
This is from a BBC Radio 1 session - the Simon Mayo show 3/10/95. I have this and Cast No Shadow along with this interview I recorded off the radio on to cassette at the time.
Sorry to disappoint but this isn't a demo version. This is taken from an acoustic performance (03/10/1995). Cast No Shadow on that album is also from that same session.
His head really was with lennon bootlegs writing this, the opening could be lennon's watching the wheels accoustic demo 1980. It just show's when you have some inspiration and belief how one great song or song's can spawn more great songs, like this.
+Stu Art That's why they went on to title one of their albums "Standing on the shoulder of giants". Lennon did it too, you can tell where many of his compositions come from.
Oasis is much better than Blur. Cut off your ears if you deny this. Liam is fucking really handsome and Noel's song is fucking amazing. Blur is just a hopeless band who wants to be the rival of the Oasis.
Noel stated in some interview that they haven't made any demos for What's The Story. The whole hype and craziness around the band... They went it to the studio and recorded what Noel played them on the back of the tour bus:P. Anyway, it would be great to hear a decent sounding version on Champagne Supernova with Noel on vocals!
@@startracker5895 noel’s voice is incredible to me, warm and with a great pitch. just hear him here, you may prefer liam’s but his vocal power and talent is undeniable. for me there’s nothing like a songwriter singing his own songs.

I'd heard that interview. Then I thought - but there's Morning Glory demo playing at the start of aquiesce, recorded with their old drummer. Mustve been bits and pieces kickin about.
their logo is the most 90s thing ever
True
Oasis were the 90s

That feeling will only grow
I was 14 when I first heard them, that was in 1994
his guitar sounds amazing, as well his voice
liam it's a 12 string guitar that's why it's sounds so clean and smooth
epiphone vintage 64
best band ever in my opinion sound of a generation

The album wasn't released untill October 95 if you are saying it was recorded in March of that year wouldnt this be considered a demo.
@@thomasleclaire2285 no, it's a live recording from a show. It's not a demo if it's a performance.

it's a very beautiful versio. played with a 12 strings guitar.
beautiful

Oasis
Noel said he wrote the song and melody with some words whilst he was pissed, and was pleased when he remembered next morning on a hangover.

thebandcoca True. But surely Noel didn't mean it in the Newton context. Noel's context is music, not physics, so Noel's giants were The Beatles, etc
Right artist, wrong song. It's actually Imagine that the song is based off.
+GKFC 100% ...the piano on the album cut is imagine by Lennon
2018 and I still remember my 1998 when I hear that versión for million
