With Ryan's ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE plan I was like one taken by the hand and led step by step from start to finish. Thank you very much Ryan!
Using the part of the gun that holds the racks of nails for a gauge to get rafter and fasica board to plane right was pretty awesome. I've been doing this for 23 yrs and first time I saw that one. Thanks brother great job
The day just got better, 40+min video!! Thank you CF. I don't know how you can hang over, hold 2*4 with one hand, gun in the other, Not fall over AND able to place the 2*4 perfect so it makes a nice corner at the outside!!!. Be safe, as always another awesome video.
I just figured it out, this guy does the work of two guys in good time, so he must be booked solid as a framer, nice work guy, not many like you, be safe! I live in a warm climate, and I now get trusses for snow load. Makes sense, growing up in an old house, with an attic, I know you can build a home with an attic in a snowy area, but it involves some pretty heavy duty wood framing, to hold the snow on the roof. This is what I got out of it. I am a future carpenter, who wants to build their own house.
Strength of a bear...Agility of a cat...BALLS OF STEEL... No lie, I looked down to see my hands clenched when he was framing the lookouts at the end gables (15 mins or so)... Fascinating content... Stay safe!
I knew that sticker was going to fall.. Always happen to all Frame worker's.. Have that problems putting blocks on gables.. Good job Crazy Framer, From Arizona, Navajo Nation
This video was absolutely excellent, by far one of the best framers going. Love the long videos especially during the lockdown period. This lightens your day up, keep the vids coming
Good job! I can't believe they got you framers doing the cardboard baffles. That's cheap. It's always stressful enough and a rush to get the roof on before weather! Let the insulation guys do their own job! Next they will have you felting in the roof...lol
You should try the new Milwaukee stud 14 ft stand out tape. I have tried many tapes and always went back to a fat max until this one. The stand out is awesome
Respect for what you do. Here in the UK you don't see joiners working alone even in brick houses. Do you wake up in the morning and think I need a apprentice, I sure as hell do
CF if you read the comments. I have used a gas compressor for a long time. Lean a sheet of plywood against the compressor it will deflect a lot of the noise.
Hey CF I noticed you use to rock the same kunys pouch as I do now. Home depot doesn't sell them anymore. What pouch did you switch to? Mine is toast. I used that same pouch design for over 14 years. Hard to make a switch now.
as always im amazed o see u get to town. I cant build a birdhouse myself but then again im legaly blind so ehh ,,, lets just say powertools and me dont mix hammers are even a well danger if u cant see the nail u need to hit. In any case love seaing peaple build things i might never be able to do it myself but that never stoped me from being interested and amazed at what we can do. Great job bud.
Cheers for the long episode and I tell ya what bro , I saw that comin when ya dropped the outrigger (lookout) haha because I was actually thinking how lucky none have fell yet hahaha
Crazy framer, tie up at least when you are doing the fascia boards. I am the same way as you with safety. But there are definitely times you need to tie yourself, like when you are leaning and putting most of your weight towards empty area. One slip and there is no saving yourself.
when you precut the spacers for the trusses like that a small error will multiply by 20 and the last truss will be wonky. do as you normally do , mark the 2x4 and nail it down , then in the end brace it
First off sweet deal brother hell of job!! Frame on!! Second, is there a sweet trick you use for the fascia to hold it in place by yourself or you just holding it tight??
How do you handle change orders after you are building to approved drawings. Changes cost, sometimes more than we anticipate. There is a lot of design creep especially when owners begin to see the home being built. It's OK to make changes however there has to be a cost associated with it. It is not the builders responsibility to change design at their cost. Just wondering how you handle these changes.... Joe
Could it be anymore perfect? Of course not you did it !! It’s as perfect as anyone could get !! I know nobody gives a shit 😂 but I’m gonna say it anyway ; I just came off a 12 Hr shift & I normally love my job But today people made my head hurt 😢 CF I put your video on & it takes my headache away ! I ❤️ the Crazy Framer
Wow, this man belongs in the old days... when they were building sky scrapers with no harness on.. great work.. you inspire me to build my own house..God bless.
As always, great video and work, my man. Like the idea of using the bottom of the nailer to even out the facia board. That's the first I've seen that but it makes so much sense.
For some reason ive enjoyed watching you work. Looks like you disappeared or I'm missing something. Had a question for you about your facia. Are you laying it out before you put it up seems like you are. Just didn't see any layout. Hope all is well. Cheers from southern suburbs of Detroit.
How do you get to build a whole house by yourself? I’m a journeyman carpenter with the Hawaii carpenters union for 15 years and when we build houses there is a crew of guys for a house depending on what crew your on u might only end up doing certain things like if your a framer you might only do the framing of the house or a stacker only does the roof of the house or a exterior finish carpenter that only does the windows, trim pieces and the siding of the house.
h2oskier32 The lengths will be the same as the rafters on the truss. He will probably have drawings of the trusses showing pitch and lengths of components. Either that or just measure them when they are on the floor.
Is it hard sometimes to straighten out your gable end facia with the fable truss and the last truss nailed together with the lookouts. We don’t do lookouts here in Halifax area like that, unless the facia overhang is 24” or more. I’ve never seen the gable truss dripped 3 1/2” actually...
It took me 3 times to see you had a nail in that side piece to hold it there. Whew, that was driving me nuts trying to figure out how it just stuck there.
@@phillipmedley7455 Well I know how I would do it, its just watching it couldn't tell what method he used. Taking the safety off is common practice with some production framers. If you knew you would have said it. That's telling.
I always wonder why there is no provision for a loft room in these houses, it can't be much more expensive to put a beam up there considering the amount of studs you'd save.
Most of these houses are only 20 feet wide, on a 6/12 pitch or even 8/12, you can't meet ceiling height codes, you'd have to switch to a mansard roof type and people that buy these houses would rather have two fake gables and zero usable space than look at a mansard roof type.
Never really thought of myself as a pussy until I watched you climbing around up there. Just installed my first trusses yesterday. It was nerve wracking.
Hard to comment on a video of his though, knowing that the chances of him responding are about nil!!! Solid tubers give some interaction at times - but it seems to be all about quantity....top - notch framer though!!!
It's called a rat run, you're a good framer and I've watched several of your videos but it always looks like the same ol track house, I've had green guys become framing sensations within weeks when I did track houses, custom framing is were it's really at, I do mostly commercial now, mainly cobblestone hotels, sometimes miss the simpler days

I like the nail in the tip of the board to hold it in place. Nice job.
Sunday. Quarantine. Crazy framer puts up a 40 min video. Good times.
:D
I could watch these videos all day. I'm old now so it's nice to feel like I'm on site again. Keep 'em coming, young man!
Timber in the harness 🤣😂🤣😂😂
Crazy framer on a whole other level..
Dude !!
I have noticed that I hold my breath throughout most of your videos. Good work.
if he fell u wouldn't see the vid. I thought of that to . until I thought well we wouldn't see the vid.. so I stopped holding my breath lol ...

The tip to measure the drop on the fascia using the mag of the nail gun. 🙌🏽
CF if you read the comments. I have used a gas compressor for a long time. Lean a sheet of plywood against the compressor it will deflect a lot of the noise.
So nice and easy when you build correctly, don’t even need a saw up there
Love the longer video ... love all the videos, but longer's even better. Thanks for all the work you do.

That doesn’t happen if you add an 1/8th of an inch every time you mark the spacers and make perfect cuts right on the line
Tight Bro... very tight mitres Bro!! Wicked cool
Sitting here watching you with a couple of good drinks in me-your making me dizzy.!!!!
Of all the comments I can’t believe no said anything about the pink pencil. I love it !!!!! Every Framer should have a pink pencil just saying 😂
I always use pink pencils in my videos, and yours is one of the only comments !

Staying on the roof is the safest place to be these days. Making the rest look like “crazy humans”
any reason behind your decision not to put the fascia and lookouts on first while it was assembled on the ground?
Surprised you didn't do the gable overhangs while trusses where on the ground
Interesting to see how the nails can come out and the reason to keep your hands not to close.
As always, great video and work, my man. Like the idea of using the bottom of the nailer to even out the facia board. That's the first I've seen that but it makes so much sense.
Crazy u are the man with ur work . thats why u deserve a beer after work....👍👍👍👍👍👍😄😄😄😄
U find it easier doing this by yourself or with a crew?
Just wondering couldn’t you do a lot of the lookouts and facia on the ground if you’re going to lift trusses together
I could but it takes just as long.

No wonder you’re always ready for a beer👍👍👍
My basophobia really kicks in watching CF on the roof.
"Oh oh look at that! Could that be any perfecter?!"
Health and Safety must be pretty lenient in Canada. I had a small panic attack just watching this.
26:00 Someone who LOVES his work. ❤❤❤❤
Hey Crazy, how are you so quiet whilst your working? I've always gotta be whistling, signing or cursing (usually a bit of all three:-)
Luv that hammer.
Looking good Crazy! Just curious...how do you like to pull your numbers for the fascia on the rake?

Switching out the tub sounds like an expensive change order.
Yeah, They better be careful. They are lucky he was not finished, might have been more expensive.
How did you get the gun to shoot a nail so you could hook your claw on it and pull up the fascia. Probably disengaged the safety I presume.

arkatub i assume that a set of stairs would probably take away valuable main floor space seeing that two of the three bedrooms are in the basement.

Not sure how Canada is but in America OSHA would shut you down doin trusses like that lol
