  • This is the 7th video in a series hosted by Treehouse Master, Pete Nelson, on how to build a safe treehouse platform using our Tree Fort Hardware System. In this video, Pete and his son, Charlie, install a Static Uplift Arrestor (SUA) to connect the platform beam to the Tree Fort TAB. In this scenario, they are also demonstrating how to use a "high heel" since the tree being used is small and the TAB heights were adjusted to ensure they did not meet in the middle.
The Tree Fort Static Uplift Arrestor (SUA) is used along side the Tree Fort TAB. The SUA fastens the Tree Fort TAB to the beam and does not allow the tree to move independently from the platform. Used mostly for one tree platforms. In the case of multiple trees, a combination of Dynamic Uplift Arrestors, and SUAs is recommended.
Our Tree Fort Hardware System (referred to as "Backyard Hardware" in this video series) is a simplified and more economical version of the standard & heavy duty treehouse hardware we use in larger builds. This Tree Fort Hardware System is designed for small scale builds, think: kid-scale tree forts, sunset decks or tree gazebos.
