- Nickel Plate Road 765, a 1944-vintage, Lima "Berkshire" type steam locomotive, is operated by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. In 2015, we followed the locomotive to Leipsic, Ohio on its annual test run.
That train whistle screams, 'im coming and for your on good, make way'
What a gorgeous and noble locomotive!! Although I’m an Englishman, living in Hertfordshire, and having access to British steam locomotives, I HAVE visited America and stayed with cousins in Shelbyville, Indiana.
What an awesome video guys! Capturing all the hissing, snorting, popping... all that is steam- Awesome!💪🏽👊🏽🚂
Great video and accompanying dialogue. Great action and just amazing running shots of this beautiful , magnificent locomotive.Locomotive. Thank You!!
Yes!! We certainly do have a couple of American steam locomotives, both of which being S160s.
It’s gorgeous! You did such an amazing job covering this beauty!
Thank you so much!!
These steam locomotives are glorious machines!! I love them absolutely anywhere, but most of all on British heritage railroads!!
Rolling coal on the Nickel Plate. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. The NKP is my favorite granger. Always loved the numbering style on the engines. Is there a name for that script style? And big thank you to Drayton for this impeccably put together content.
Most British locomotives have their running numbers on the smoke box door. It’s nice to see that there are some differences between English locomotives and American locomotives.
Awesome Trains Daryton what is what a NKP 765 fantastic Video.
Thank you!! That was a wonderful video!! I loved every moment of your fabulous video!! And what a beautiful thing a steam special is!!
Great video man, lots of great shots! You caught a lot of freights too, must have annoyed the crew a little lol.
Thanks a lot!
Love to watch steam trains! Thanks for the video!
AWESOME documentary!
Love your videos!
Like the graffiti!! It makes the boxcar look like a real relic!!
This video is really cool 👍
Looks like a fun ride 👍🏻
And by the way, what’s a Manifest Freight train? I’ve not heard the expression for quite some time!!
At least as far as ns is concerned manifest freights are those mixed car trains you see almost all the time. We also have you bulk freights which are usually like coal trains and rock or grain and then we have container or as most other conductors i know call em "pig" trains.
What class of locomotive is this one? The one I watched at Shelbyville Freight Yard was hauled by a Big Boy.
765 is a 2-8-4 Berkshire built in 1944, same class as Pere Marqutte 1225
@@CMOTrains783 Certainly a wonderful locomotive and a not unattractive train!!

Isn't this a rebroadcast from one earlier?
If Drayton finds an error in posted videos, he will edit and re-upload. He wants to be as accurate as possible.
