He is one of the smartest pitchers to ever exist. Even as a Yankee fan, he defied logic with his size and frame to throw with the power and yet precision he did. His stuff when he was on which was almost all the time, he was unhittable.
Could you imagine what his curve, change up and fastball ratings would be with all these sabermetric crap.?
His brain and his approach was in conjunction with the talent is hall of Famer without a doubt.

They tried the 05 year with get ready for this mash unit ! Bronson arroyo was the ace ! Tim Wakefield 2 Matt clement started off hot then cooled , 4 David wells in 99 good 2005 no ! Curt schilling injured they could have Resigned either Pedro or Derek Lowe and they would have been in the series but they went cheap and let both Pedro & Dlow walk they should have known better cause Schilling was injured so they really thought they had a chance to repeat when 60 percent of the rotation left and it’s 60 percent off the top ! You don’t need no Ivy League degree to know !

And that's why I'm glad Theo left the redsox, sure he made some good moves and decent signings but he also made some bad trades and signings like the Carl Crawford one trading Rizzo to the Padres for A-gone and so forth. Since Theo left the sox won two champion ships in 13 and 18 recently. But then again it worked out well for Epstein who won a chip with the cubs and ended there 108 year drought so in the long run I guess it worked out well for both sides. Lets go redsox!! Lets try and repeat in 2019

Epstein really lost his element after they won in 2004. You could tell cause he started throwing money around like candy. The same guy who traded Nomar for three guys with nowhere near the clout he had, even combined - a brilliant and needed move - also signed complete duds like Crawford and Lugo later.

Pedro was a God in Boston. But in 2003 he couldn't throw more than 100 pitches without getting blown up. He was not dominant in 2004 and it was time. The Mets got 1 Good year out of him. Sadly it was the right move. And I gave my God Son Pedro and Nomar rookie cards because I believed there was no way either would ever leave....Impossible...Wayne Gretzky, Joe Montana, Brett Favre....

Bullspit. Loved Pedro, but in 2004 it was clear his best days were behind him. He needed to go to the non-DH league to prolong his career. Look at his post-2004 stats, only one healthy/good year. Sox saw it coming. Guy is the greatest pitcher I ever saw from the 90s till '04 but after that his career was basically over.
