0:19 for anyone out there in tears because you're struggling trying to figure out how to get a grip like this, this was me 2 months ago. What I did until it became more natural for me: I use to insert it too far (was and am still learning) but roughly it adjusts itself roughly to the same area every time. I've found that if I squat and push my pelvis forward as far as I can, I can then slide my thumb down my body(backside of my thumb against my body and curved like a thumbs down)and inside deep enough to reach the base of the cup, then I take my middle finger and slide it down my thumb until I reach the other side of the cup and from there, you should be good to go to slowly wiggle and exit.
For anyone panicking because you can’t take your cup out, I found it extremely helpful to push (as if you’re pushing out a baby). I was getting so frustrated because I felt like my fingers were just shoving the cup deeper. By getting my fingers in and then pushing the cup out hard, I was able to pinch the cup and pull it out successfully! ❤ you got this!
Thank you!
@@daniellaandrade7942 of course! I was terrified at first but then I finally got it out! 😅
I was terrified at first as well, I cried a lot thinking I could never get it out…
You are such a life saver💖
@@vaishali_agarwal so glad I could help! It was scary! ❤️
It’s just very difficult to pinch the suction cup.
Yeah, it hurts when you pinch something that you not supposed to pinch! Auch, I tried so many times today, couldn't get the thing in.. My problem is the cup not opening properly...i can feel it's not imserted well.. Oh dear. Good luck to you too!
Yeah I cant pinch it when it’s inside. It’s so hard to get it ouuuuuuuut
Just use a pad lol
Same here! I struggled a lot, I got now a bigger one to see if I can do it…
did it work?@@LumaMonteirolm
I'm wearing my first cup for the first time today. It's scarier to take it out than to put it in, because it is much more uncomfortable to take it out, maybe because I made a mistake. 😅 But so far, I love it! This is life changing y'all! Probably the best period of my life! 💯❤️
Same! My first time. Im really scared because it hurts to try to pinch it to get ut out. Any tips?
@@its.avalove hi, I hope this reply is not too late 😅 I realized that if you wiggle your cup while pulling it gently and then pinching it when almost the half part is out, it becomes much more easier to take out. I hope this helps. Don't worry, it gets easier over time! 💯❤️
@@Ms.Gelyybeanthank you 😭
But is it re usable or are they packed in pairs or how many cups am am I supposed to buy
@@akatukwasashallone9516It's totally reusable. You just have to wash it ( with menstrual cup wash) with each use snd steralize it by keeping it in boiling water for 3-4 minutes after each cycle and before using it the next cycle. Hope this helps!👍
you literally have to relax or it will not come out. I think that is really the most emphasized/important part
Really glad for those who recommended bearing down when you go to pinch & remove, that did the trick after not being able to get a grip on the cup
My first time using it today. I think my cervix is high because the stem was difficult to reach. I found using some toilet paper to dry off the area and then covering my fingers with it while wiggling and pulling helped with grip. Also using your muscles like you're having a poo helped the cup go down.
Great job using your cup for the first time! The best part is it only gets easier.😊😊
You saved my life this was scaring meee
I was so excited because last night I was finally able to figure out how to get it in although I still need to learn how to position it correctly! But than the issue of getting it out came and now that's something else I have to master. Trying to break the seal felt like i was sucking out my insides!
Ahhh that’s what I’m scared of, that feeeeelinh
I’m wearing mine for the first time today. It was sore to take out but I think I just tried to pull it straight out. I’m definitely going to try pinching and wiggling next change time. It felt fine when it was in which is good. It’s just hard not to panic lol
Great job! When you remove your cup, you'll want to fold it back into a smaller shape, such as folding it into a C. You’ll want to remove your cup at a horizontal angle, just like you did for insertion. Similar to insertion, if you insert your cup straight up like a tampon, it won't be very comfortable, and if you remove your cup by pulling it straight out, it won't feel great! This is why we encourage you to do everything at a horizontal angle.😊
@@saaltco thank u for the help. Ur so kind 😊
Yeah, I think I made the same mistake :/
It was painful to get out 😵
I'll try this next time.
Thank you!!! I was terrified of putting it in because I knew that meant it had to came out. I spent a while trying to get it in only because of that fear. Finally I got it in. The stem was too long so I left it for only a while before putting on this video while I tried to pull it out. I got it out much faster then I put it in so thank you.
It did hurt to take it out but I did it fast so it was not as bad as when I slowly pull out my disc.
This is my only my second period using discs and now trying the cup, so I’m still getting used to it
Also I was using Saalt soft
@@katiedyck5407 It sounds like you are on the right track, we are rooting for you! For some people, the cup is leak-free and comfortable right away, and for others, there is a learning curve that can just depend on the unique anatomy of the user. Much like tampons, most new users don’t master everything on their first try and can take 2-3 periods to get the hang of it.

Phew!! Nice work! We're glad this helped.😊✨
Damn..that's exactly how it feels
I almost died😂😂😢
The instructions keep saying this but I CANT REACH MY FINGERS AROUND THE CUP TO PINCH WITHOUT IT HURTING!! Not only is the diameter of the cup in my vagina but now I’ll also be putting 2 fingers in there which is obviously uncomfortable and not easy, any other tips???
This was exactly my problem. I was eventually able to get it out twice, but I’m scared of putting it back in because I’ll have to remove it again. It hurts to jam my fingers in there along with the cup.
@@kyraelise6138same problem 😭
@@kyraelise6138yes this exactly happened to me! It was such an uncomfortable experience, also to imagine having to switch it out in public ohhhhh nope lol I would be so tense and go into meltdown mode.
Bless all you people in the comments. I was panicking feeling like I couldn’t grip and reach where I needed to. I had my husband trying to get it out for me 😂 that did not work haha I went to the comments and got it out 10 seconds later. The key for me was squatting a bit and pushing like I did for birth. I was able to grip it and wiggle it out! Yay! Now that I understand I know I will love this!
It really helps to sit on the back of the toilet seat and push your pelvis forward (tilt your hips forward and squeeze your stomach). I was able to reach the cup much easier in this position.
this helped me so much THANK YOU!!❤🙏🏼
I stopped using my cup several years ago and have just started using it again. I forgot how great it is! And how to remove it... I stopped using it due to repeated yeast infections, but I now have a tiny dental brush I can use to clean the small suction holes, and I have broken the no bleach rule and quickly bleached all the bacteria out of it. It is a rubber one.
Hey there! We're glad to hear that you've gone back to your cup. We'd love to help you out! Using a dental brush to clean the air holes can actually tear the silicone so we recommend avoiding that altogether. Additionally, bleaching your cup can be dangerous as it can alter your vaginal pH and lead to infection. Maybe opt for boiling instead! You can wipe your air holes clean with a Q-Tip.😊👍
If you are concerned with sanitizing it maybe try one of the devices u put water in and it steams the cup
@@saaltco hi thanks, actually mine is The Keeper brand, made of natural rubber, not silicone. I have yet to try a silicone one. I've stopped using bleach, the tail tore off from age which is good cuz I was always worried about not cleaning it out properly, I just got your message, I have been using my dental brush and I have not had any yeast infections in the last year. Hooray!
@@saaltco when I first got my keeper it said never to boil it, that it would crack the rubber.

While removing, in case if u r struggling to remove through normal method and it is deep inside.
Wash ur hands
1. Sit in squat position and relax.
2. Hold the stalk of cup firmly with ur index n thumb finger
3. Push it out with the help of ur body, like how u push a baby or poop. Due to this pressure it can come out easily
4. Don't forcely pull it out, while pushing through body, slightly move the cup back n forth, so tht the movement help in removing suction
5. While doing this, almost the cup will reach to ur finger, later hold the cup, pinch n pull it out.
For me it actually hurts removing it but i just endure it because i hate tampons and pads
I tried menstrual cup today, damn! Inserting it was smooth and sweet but removing it was real war. I freaked out 😂😂. But then it’s really worth it. I love ittt. Better than tampons and pads 💯
How do u pinch the cup when it up inside you
I experienced jade san starch and I felt pretty amazing. Even though there is a leak, this is the first time, I will deal with it next time.❤
The base is slippery regardless of grips, it’s just so slippery and difficult to handle on the way out :(
Hi Stephanie! We're sorry that removal has been difficult and a bit slippery. Try inserting one finger along the side of the cup to break the seal and wiggle your cup down that way. We hope that this helps!
@@saaltco I think I’ve gotten the hang of it, went for it with a little less anxiety and I’ve got a grip now! Thanks for the advice y’all are nice🌷
@@stephaniemazvita Great work! We're here for you every step of the way. Reach out if you have any additional questions.😊
I cant reach the base:/ when I do I cant get a grip strong enough to pinch and pull. Any advice?
You have to push out. Push out like you’re pooping and then grab the stem once you grab the stem pull it out more. Once it’s more out, grab a side of the cup and push it in so the cup will lose suction. Once the cup loses suction start pulling it out so it’s easier taking it out. After a year of using this cup it’ll be soo easy. Trust me
I had a muuuuch easier time with the larger cup! I have short fingers and a high cervix and i almost had to go to the hospital to get the small one out. The larger one goes down a little more and i was able to just barely reach it. Phew!!
Thank you for this video, I was terrified of not getting mine out and I was relieved I was not the only one! Don't think will use it again tho... 😅
The stem went abit into my vagina, it was hard to pull the stem out first and then pull out the cup. I have nails and couldn't get a grip on the stem too. Pinched myself a couple of times and it hurt. How do I keep the stem a little outside the vagina? I think whenever I sit it goes abit inside my vagina, how do I prevent it?
It's my third time, I got so frustrated today as I couldn't get it in properly 😭 I tried maybe eight times, I wash my hands so mamy times now they feel like sams paper. My cup was fine last month, this time it doesn't want to open properly. What do I do wrong 😩
I watched this and tried the pinch me this and couldn’t get a grip on it. I ended up having to pull it out with the suction and all and it didn’t hurt but I felt like I pulled my insides out. Can I hurt my insides if I pulled it out with the suction still intact??
I’m going to order one of these. I worry so much about TSS using tampons.

Okay, so.. I am using the Saalt cup for a few months now. It's been great!
However, I have really high cervix, and it's really hard to reach out the cup to get it out.
So, I pull on the stem first to lower it down a bit, and then I break the seal and remove it.
However, today the stem just shredded off. It just feel off.
It was a real trouble getting the cup out with no stem, since it's hard for me to even reach the cup without the stem.
I finally managed to break the seal and pull it out. But now I can't use it anymore.
I contacted Saalt, I hope they get back to me soon.
I just had a panic attack that the cup is never gonna come off, let's try this
What happens if you are on a date or hanging out with friends how do you clean the cup because as we know most bathroom sinks are outside the stalls
I’m in so much pain it’s not even funny. Been stuck for hours and I’m too small to fit my fingers up there to pinch it. I hit the small size too.

The first time I inserted it and then tried to remove it ..I actually pulled it out in haste and that was so painful due to which I got bleeding even though i was not on my periods. It was like the suction sucked through the cervix and bleeding happened. I freaked out so bad. I tried to search the reason for the bleeding but couldn't find out. The next day too i felt a Little pain in the stomach. Is something wrong should I use menstrual cup on my periods because I am scared of using it again????
Grab the base... I can’t reach it tho 😭😭

I wanna try the saalt soft cup
Yay! We hope you give it a try, Charlotte!
Every time I pinch the base to break the seal all the blood spills down :( I can't remove it without being messy. Any tips?
If your cup is super full when you practice removal, you might choose to empty it sooner during the day to avoid a mess. You can also try to break the seal on one side and slide your cup down toward the back of the toilet bowl as you remove it. This will ensure that it tilts away from your hand while you empty it.😊
@@saaltco thank you!! 💖💖
I'm facing the same issue. Don't know what to do.
Im just wondering what do we do if were in a public bathroom and cant rinse it? Im thinking of trying this but im worried lol
i litteraly cant get it out and im so scared i’ll get tss bc i’m not on my period and i was just trying to see how it works before i actually have ti use it
it’s been like an hour and i can’t get it out and i haven’t stopped crying
Well that was stupid. Would you insert a tampon when you're not bleeding?
She's just trying to practice and trying it out. This thing is a lot different than tampon. If you have nothing nicer to say, please scroll thru
I practiced before I was on my period and I was a bit unsettled when I couldn't get it out as easy as I had put it in. I had placed it too high and it did take time to come down. A hot bath / shower helped me relax. I used the middle finger of my non-dominant hand at an angle to reach up to break and the seal then slowly pulled the cup out. I am still learning, but it is getting easier now to take it out. Still learning about how not to make a mess though.
I'm considering switching to a cup after hearing about how tampons were found to have lead in them and I am lowkey terrified
Hey please help me,using cup first time today, i am worried about my viginal health, is it safe using silicon cup? Can it bring any viginal health issue after using for so many years??kindly reply me,i will sterilise it in boilng water, but after sterilised, where should i keep it ,so that it would not get bacteria?
Reusable silicone period products like cups and discs are a safe long-term solution to managing your period. If you have questions about them, please feel free to ask your doctor. 😊 At the end of your period, after you have sanitized your cup, you'll want to store it away in your freshly laundered cloth carrying bag. Before using your cup again before your next period, feel free to sanitize your cup once again. You can accomplish this by either boiling your cup in water for 4-5 minutes, or wiping down your cup, inside and out, with 70% isopropyl alcohol. 👍🏼
is the entire thing in you or does the stem stick out like a tampon string?
It depends on each person's unique anatomy. Most of the time, the cup will be inserted completely (stem and all).😊
I honestly hate it. I hate putting gross chemicals in my body even more, so I’ll keep using the saalt cup, but I hate it. It is SO hard to get out. Literally takes me 10 minutes of pushing like I’m having a baby and fishing around in my hoohaa. REALLLLLY hoping it gets easier over time and this is just a beginner thing…
Does it hurt to dive in and remove?
Removal shouldn't be uncomfortable!

How am I supposed to fit 2 fingers and squeeze when I got sausage fingers?
Hi Jackie!!😊 If you aren’t able to pinch the base of the cup, you may try inserting one finger alongside the cup and press in to break the seal. You may also hook that one finger at the top of the cup to help bring it lower.
Pinching it that way makes it's mouth even more wider and the process becomes more painful!
I literally had to go to the obgyn to get it removed. I’m sticking to tampons.
My diva cup fell out in the middle of the street when i was wearing a skirt
My cervics is high and also i am on the plus size. It’s quiet difficult to pinch and pull without taging the stem. I am so nervous now i can’t pull it out

What worked for me was sitting down on the toilet with my back pushed backwards and pelvis forwards, I rolled toilet paper around my index finger because I have nails and couldn’t get a grip(used index/thumb)I pushed as well to help it come out, once I did that it started to slowly come closer and closer to the edge until it fully came out. I used model 2 which I didn’t know was the biggest one when I bought it but now I’m kinda glad I got that one cuz everyone said it’s easier to remove. Definitely excited for my new journey of cups! It was actually pretty comfortable. I did notice a little leakage but maybe I’ll get better with time I just used a panty liner to help with that. Good luck everyone 🫶
